A word from Strings
Located in Denver's Uptown neighborhood, the newly redecorated Strings has long been one of Denver's hippest restaurants. Great service and delicious, artful food attracts a "colorful" crowd of visiting celebrities, politicians, and loyal locals. Popular and bustling with excitement, the dress code ranges from blue jeans to tuxedos in this casual but elegant atmosphere. The menu focuses on New American cuisine, with creative noodle dishes and fresh seafood, like the Cashew Crusted Seabass with saffron couscous & vanilla bean butter. Lunch and dinner specials change daily to match the season and the mood of the chef.

Had a great meal at Strings their last night of regular operation. They've been a central Denver mainstay since the mid-1980's, & a lot of the staff were long-termers. Great place day or night, & after the symphony. Noise level was always on the lower end - not the "to-loud-to converse" that passes for "energetic" today. We've quit going to several places that do have good food, but refuse to spend $ at a place where 4 people can't have a conversation without yelling. Never a problem at Strings. Will be missed on so many levels.

I just had to eat at Strings 2 more time before it closed. I am so sad that such a great restuarant is closing. It is like losing a friend. Being a psychotherapist, I totally understand how hard it is to "carry on" with such a profound loss. I was so hoping that someone or group would buy it carry the great experice and maybe under a different name. It is a great loss to the community and all of us who love a fantastic "dinning experiece

We ventured to Strings as the restaurant is about to end its long run business. My wife's Cioppino was very tasty - my pork loin was ok - nicely prepared but nothing to write home about. The creme brulee for dessert was excellent.

Our experience at Strings was good, although our waiter was forgetful about my drink orders. He could have been more on the spot. I ordered a wine menu and it took 2 times to remind him I wanted wine with dinner. I ordered a dessert wine to go with my dessert. The dessert came and we were half done before the dessert wine arrived.

This restaurant is closing at the end of April, but still provided a nice dinner out for our group. They were out of a few things, pork belly and sweet potato fries, as early as 5:30 pm, but maybe they are not re-stocking the restaurant due to their closing date. The waiter got a few things wrong, but what we did have was presented well and was delicious! It is sad to see the place close its doors as it has been a wonderful high-end restaurant for so many years in this neighborhood, and Denver in general. Best wishes to the staff and owner.

Having lived in the neighborhood for 20 years, this was our favorite neighborhood restaurant and one of our favorites overall. We had great respect for Noel who gave so much to the community. Restaurant was consistently great in every way - food, service, ambiance, quiet. Sorry to see it go but, unfortunately, our last hurrah helped us let go of this gem. Obvious that restaurant was closing and customer service not such a priority.

So sad Strings is closing soon and we wanted to have one more meal at this iconic Denver restaurant before the end! We were not disappointed - it was a lovely brunch and a beautiful day. We wish all "Stringers" and especially Tammy - well in their future endeavors and hope an equally excellent establishment takes advantage of the great space.

Service was a little disconnected on this visit. Bread served only on repeated requests even with cioppino which traditionally requires bread for the broth. Complimentary glass of pro-secco for our special occassion was appreciated. Schnitzel was tasty. Chocolate mousse cake divine as always. Sorry to learn that Strings will be closing at the end of April.

Strings has the best ahi tuna tartare in town. my husband's favorite is the calves liver, interestingly enough, and strings is the only restaurant where he orders this dish. We also enjoyed the pork special, which was very creatively flavored, plus it was a very large serving. it was very quite this past Friday evening, but that could have been because there was a big spring snow storm blowing in, and we live only a few blocks away, so it wasnt a difficult drive for us. With so many new restaurants in town, I do hope people will come back to Strings again because that restaurant has maintained very high standards for food and service for so many years. Fads may come and go, but Strings is still first place in our hearts.

We had a wonderful time at Strings. Because of the snowstorm, we had the place practically to ourselves. I loved the salad and dessert, but ordered the Mahi for an entree, and was underwhelmed by it. Our server, Wally, did a fantastic job of being there at the perfect moment, but did not hover. I've known Strings to be a perennial favorite, but I've never been there for dinner. We joined friends for 5280 and found the restraunt to be very well designed and the service was excellent. The 5280 menu looked good. The salad, soup, and dessert were excellent, but the beef rib was only average and my wife's salmon was a bit overcooked. I will definitely consider going again and test the regular menu.
