A word from Streetcar Bistro & Taproom
Streetcar Bistro & Taproom is just that ... great food and a killer craft beer line up, anytime your here. Primarily we're a beer and brown bar with awesome, reasonably priced food.

We rotate our 30 taps regularly, with some taps dedicated to those breweries that knock it out of the point all the time, like Stone Green Flash, but numerous others.

If you like whisky, well, go no further. We typically carry around 40 fine scotches and about 60 fine whiskies and bourbons. We have a lot of with the cocktail list, so if that's your aisle, you'll enjoy that too.

  • Music was WAY TOO LOUD

Food and service was great, but the live music on weekends was way too loud for my tastes. It made indoor conversation impossible. Fortunately we were able to be seated outside, but still had our conversation interrupted whenever the door opened. Maybe its a generational thing (I'm a boomer), but I found the music volume intolerable. Its still one of my favorite restaurants, but I will avoid music nights.

This place is an upscale taproom. It's one of those places where a girl can walk in and feel comfortable on her own and sit at the bar and have a cocktail. The staff is very warm and friendly. I really like their new menu much better than before now that the new owner/management have taken over. The place inside is really nice, but not uber fancy without feeling pretentious. I love the life music on the weekends. They play a good variety music each time and it's not too loud. They have 30 craft beers and a lot of choices of burbon, whiskey and scotch. Also, they make our their cocktails fresh squeezed which is really a big deal for me. I love it there! They brought their beer prices down which I am sure beer lovers will love that!

Went in towards the end of a very quiet happy hour. We had a special scallop appetizer which was good, but under seasoned. I had the pulled brisket sandwich for dinner. It was really sloppy forcing me to eat it with a fork... also bland. The rosemary fries have potential. They were perfectly fried and the herb flavor was great. They really needed some salt. I also tried 2 cocktails from the bar. They were very good, high end. The main reason I won't be back is the fruit flies. Sitting in the middle of the restaurant we were battling them all night. They would land on food while we were eating and came in the bottom of drinks from the bar. Really made the place feel dirty. Considering the prices, I wouldn't have expected this at all....

So we stumbled across streetcar Bistro on OpenTable and what a find. Sitting outside in the pearl on a beautiful summer evening couldn't be better. Well then then food came and it indeed got even better. Started off with the pound of muscles. This by itself could have been my dinner and I'd be happy. The Ahi tuna salad with mango and the bacon mac and cheese were also fit for a foodie. I hope this place is around a long time. We will be back again and again.

The restaurant was closed, with a sign on the door indicating landlord had repossessed. The food was non existent, and i was left standing outside! Having said that it was quiet.

The food was fantastic. But the server behind the bar was much more interested in setting up her till for the night than providing service. And what service that was provided was not the normal friendly service we have come to expect. It was more like landing in a McMennamin's Bar, which is not a complement. I normally love this place but last Wednesday was not so good.

The food here is very good. The beer selection isn't nearly as good expected, about half the taps were out. After making reservations for Valentine's for 5, we showed up to find they had no table for us. The waitress could have done a lot more to address our situation. We ended up waiting for quite awhile before a different waitress finally had some people move so we could have a table. The whole night our waitress ignored us and gave us as little attention as possible. She was clearly having a bad night and was taking it out on us. While the place was pretty nice and the food was quite good, we won't be going back because the service was awful. I'm not even picky about that sort of thing but she was terrible.

What a pleasant surprise to find this right across the street from our condo. We have lived in Portland one month and have been to this local find two times, but plan to go back many! This last time we tried dinner on a Saturday night. Nice ambiance, busy but not overly loud. We could easily hear each other. What surprised us was the food! Just delicious! Generous portions, but what we enjoyed the most was the tastes of each dish. Really, really good. Kudos to the guys/gals working in the kitchen! I tried the pork shoulder which melted in my mouth. I chose for the first course amazing bacon wrapped pears stuffed with goat cheese. Absolutely delicious! This restaurant only helps us confirm why we decide to move to Portland. The food!
