Street and Co.A must stopLike the Brennan family's slate of restaurants in New Orleans, Street & Co. is a member of a family of restaurants in the Old Port section of Portland, Maine. The food while not out of this world, was wonderful. The mussels were much larger than we're used to in Florida and more tender - like clams. Also the scallops were of a larger size than I personally prefer, but they were prepared tender with a just glazed outer skin in the pernod sauce. If you're a couple that enjoy sitting next to each other, be sure to state at minimu 3 when you make a reservation so you'll get a 3 or 4 top table vs a 2 top slammed against the wall and no room to slide a chair to the remaining open side.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience. LobsterGreat dining experience. Lobster fra diavo best I've ever had.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT FAMILY BIRTHDAY DINNERTwo in our 60's, one 40, and a 5 year old had a splendid evening. Good food, not too noisy, and kid-friendly.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal, as alwaysStreet and Company shines with consistency. The spinach salad with cured bacon and fried egg was quite possibly the best assembly of taste ever for a salad plate. Yellowfin tuna wasblackened to perfection, and the bourbon pecan pie is always a wonderful way to end a meal. Do not miss the oysters - a terrific value.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a reservation but hadWe had a reservation but had to wait 45 minutes. They brought other people back who came in after we did. There were only 3 in our party. They did give us an appetizer to make up for this4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMStreet & Co is a reat restaurantStreet & Co is a reat restaurant with some of the finest seafood dishes in Portland. It has a great menu selection and with their attentive waitstaff you will be served timely and promptly. A definite choice in any "foodies" bucket list!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSublimeThe seafood was tremendous. Anyone can take a flavorful fish and make it seem interesting. Street & Co. goes well beyond this. They're not afraid to take even the most delicate fish flavors and heighten them to sublime levels of taste and texture. We had sole and halibut -- not exciting fish -- that were delicate, flaky, and just exploded in our mouths with freshness and the absolute certainty that Yes. This is *exactly* what every sole and every halibut dreams of tasting like. The preparations were spectacular and yet kept the seafood front and center (as it should be). The best seafood restaurant we've ever eaten at, hands down. Every time we return to Portland, we'll be making reservations at Street & Co.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, just veryExcellent food, just very noisy. We could hardly hear one another (there were two of us) and we were in a far corner.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our third visit:This was our third visit: 1st time was around 2000 (with our then 5 and 8 year old children), second was two years ago with teens, tird was with our young adult children. It's one of several restaurants in the area we like to visit on special family occasions. The food and service has been excellent on each visit. However, the cheap caned chairs chairs in the dining room really need to be replaced with something of greater quality and comfort. They simply do not belong in Street & Co. Perhaps you could hold a "garage sale" TO GET RID OF THEM.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visitThis was our second visit to this restaurant. It was as wonderful as the first time. Server was knowledgble and provided lovely service. Scallops in Pernod cream sauce absolutely perfect! We will return and recommend Street and Co. to friends.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI've come here twice, onceI've come here twice, once with my girlfriend and once with my parents. It was the right ambiance for both occasions! It's a wonderful place and we enjoyed a near-perfect meal.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good. I can'tFood was very good. I can't believe I am writing this, but there were too many mussels in the appetizer. I could not finish 1/2 my entree (pan fried Arctic Char), which was delicious. It was my wife's 50th birthday and the staff made mention and brought a special dessert, nice touch. All in all a great evening, will come back when we are in Portland.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMStreet and Company has consistentlyStreet and Company has consistently been one of my absolute favorite restaurants throughout the years.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had great food in Portland,We had great food in Portland, but this was our best meal, hands down. Incredibly fresh food, creative and delicious preparations, and gracious service. We had a table in the dining room with the open kitchen and loved watching the chefs work their magic. These people truly care about and understand food. Our choices: Appetizers: fish cakes and a chickpea spread with pita points. Entrees: Linguini with clams and their signature sole dish. So fresh and perfectly done. Save room for dessert! The pecan pie is served warm and is to die for. Service was outstanding. Our server was warm, gracious, and informative about every dish. We can't wait to go back!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLobster Fra Diavolo is a favorite.Lobster Fra Diavolo is a favorite. Excellent service, food and wine/beer list.
