Strata Restaurant and BarMother's Day EveUnfortunately for us it happened to be the night before Mother's Day, so there were no entree specials nor were there many desserts. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but we were there for a birthday celebration and I had decided not to provide dessert for our group, as there usually were great desserts to choose from. They couldn't even offer us any sherbet! They had a big MD planned, and all of their waiters were busy getting ready for the next day's buffet. a small private room full with a big table of about 30 people. That would have been loud and
the service would have been slow, I believe. They acted really put out that they had to find
another table, saying the restaurant was fully booked. When we left 2 hours later, there

The food was phenomenal and Taylor our waiter had an exceptional knowledge of the menu, he was super friendly and accommodating. I had a coupon for 2 entrees and an appetizer and desert. The total bill for 2 of us before discount for coupon was 112.00 plus tip and taxes. The 2 entrees were shrimp and filet 8 oz. The food was outstanding. One of best steaks I have had in a long time.

Tha Salmon was delicious, as were the salads and boiled Shrimp. I would much rather have seen Prime Rib as opposed to the Rack of Lamb.(overheard several comments as well) The Egg Salad Sliders were a hit. Little messy but good! The Pork Egg Rolls (hard to find) were the best I have had in a long time.

Intimate dining. Our group of 4 were there 3 hours and never were rushed to order or hurried through our dinner. Totally relaxing and enjoyable evening. The service was outstanding.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be back!We arrived 30 minutes prior to our reservation, but our table was ready. Our party ended up at the bar which is beautiful. We saw many servers making drinks and carrying them out, but the mixologist for the bar was there intermittently. A lady came in and took care of us quickly when the other servers could not. She may have been a manager, but also overheard us saying the room was very cold. Shortly thereafter, the air conditioner was turned down.
The restaurant is hard to find, tucked away behind stores, but well worth the hunt. Food quality is very good, quick, and good service. Strata had a nice variety of menu items and prices are in line with other quality restaurants. We often go here when we want great food and time to talk. We had a question about the bill and were very happy with the respectful manner the manager utilized in both listening to us and solving our problem. Once we chose a wine that was suggested and really didn't like it when we had our first sip. The wait staff was cordial and the problem was easily fixed. We also love their homemade sausage. We heartily recommend Strata. Go and have great time. The food was great!!! But we felt that because we had the Groupon (which allowed for an automatic 18% tip) that our waiter wasn't very attentive. Maybe he felt he didn't have to work as hard because tip was guaranteed with us. And that is sad because we were hoping to get excellent service so that we could tip him even more. We are waiters ourselves, and so we know what it is like. We know how hard it is sometimes for a waiter, so we were looking to tip him more.
