We went for lunch and ended up sampling all of there pre fix menu and were beyond impressed, this was about twenty levels above your typical hotel food. All together I will end up frequenting the bistro based on the environment, staff and food. The delightful flavors of this dish more than lived up to its description, but so did everything we ordered! My fellow diners greatly enjoyed the calimari, the salmon, the braised chicken and the steak - which all sound very typical but which all brought unique flavors and presentation to the table. A little taste of warm fallen chocolate cake and cheesecake canolis made for a wonderful finish. The restaurant is beauftifully appointed with a large fish tank, large paintings, flowers etc. The service was perfect and the wine and salads were delicious. Sexy Vibe in the Bistro Service was great and Food Was Spectacular.. I was not expecting this from a hotel. Service - When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the hostess, Marti, who acknowledged our reservation, sat us, and asked periodically, throughout the meal, if we needed anything else. Our server, Joel, was equally on target. The menu was clearly described. Questions were answered quickly and accurately. The sequencing of the food was excellent.
The food was a nice surprise. The Strand Bistro is well priced and is definitely "FIT FOR FOODIES." We had pan seared scallops, a lobster risotto (generous amount of lobster), a cauliflower truffle soup that was "to die for." The margaritas were incredibly well made..lots of fresh lime.
