Straits Restaurant - San FranciscoBest Asian Fusion RestaurantQuality of Food was excellent, very flavorful and the customer service was awesome!!!! I will highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than expectedSaturday May 11, 2013. Eating dinner in a shopping mall would not usually be considered an experience, but the Manager (Chris) and our waiter (Max) went way above and beyond our expectations. They were friendly without being overbearing, attentive without being intrusive, and timely in their service.
The food also exceeded our expectations (based on the location and the prices) in that the pairings of flavors and the inventiveness in presentation were what you would expect for twice the price.
The only downside is the volume... we did feel like we had to speak louder than usual to be heard clearly.
I would not hesitate to bring someone here that I wanted to impress.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGotta go!This is one of our favorite restaurants! Can't say romantic since the noise level is too high, but great food!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough a bit noisy, theAlthough a bit noisy, the food more than made up. Good innovative choices. Singapore noodles, mixed vegies, coconut rice: all were delicious!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeFood was inventive, awesome. Great service, too. Really liked everything about the place, except for XXXXXX. WHAT?! I can't hear you. The techno music was way too loud.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid Singapore Cuisine & ServiceThis Straits restaurant in San Francisco's Downtown/Union Square area is located in the Westfield Mall among four other serious restaurants (not the food court). The food was very good (not excellent, but better than just "good"). My wife and I shared an appetizer of about 8 small "Spring Rolls," which were tasty, particularly when dipped in the drizzled sauces on the serving plate. My wife had Chicken Pad Tai, which also was tasty. I had another chicken dish (but as I write this, I don't remember the name of the dish; I wish that from this page, I could consult the restaurant's menu to allow more precision), which was also very good. The service was very good, with more than one staff member taking care of our table.11/27/2012 12:00:00 AMThe food, service and ambianceThe food, service and ambiance were all wonderful. What a great lunch spot during the week. The broth for the five-spice vermicelli soup was the most amazing broth I have EVER had.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
