Just about the only negative our group experienced was that when food was brought to our table, it was just set randomly and the server wouldn't even ask who ordered x - it was just dropped off the table left for the group to figure out what that dish was and who ordered it. You'd say, well, why don't you ask - sure, if only the server wouldn't move away in a flash. Even the support staff and guys bringing food and filling water glasses were noticeably skillful. The manager was excellent. He was the one who seated us. He checked in with us multiple times in a non-intrusive way, made recommendations, and comped us a couple glasses of champagne when he heard that we were celebrating our new baby. He clearly wanted us to have a great experience and knew how to ensure it. He made our experience go from already great to awesome, memorable, and impressive. All the food was delicious. The roti prata appetizer is very good. This restaurant knows the value of a well managed and talented team and compliments it with great food.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but pricey wine.Our brunch was very good. However, their wine is really overpriced, My boyfriend ordered 2 glasses of local white wine and the 2 glasses cost more than our food.
$16.00 a glass is too much for local wine in my opinion.
When we go back, we will bring a bottle of something we like and pay for a corkage fee.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMStraight A Straits!Upon entering thecrestaurant, I knew we made a good choice coming here to celebrate a birthday. The mood was classy, without being snobbish. The hostess was very pleasant & professional. She even offered to keep our umbrella by the hostess stand. The waitstaff were all cheerful & prompt with our orders. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the name of the charming lady who attended to us -- but she was most gracious & very helpful throughout the course of the meal. The ribs were the bomb! Garlic noodles was great. The salmon wrapped in leaves was good & light. And they timed the arrival of the warm chocolate fondant cake (with candle) at the end of the meal -- as a surprise to the birthday boy. They explainFood was excellent. They explain that the plates are served family style but we have ordered individually in the past. If you do order individually, order some starters as the entrees are served as they are done which means some people will be waiting to eat while others have their dish. Also order rice (the coconut is great) to accompany your meat dishes.
One of our dishes was very slow to come out (we were eating family style). Our waiter and the manager came over to apologize and let us know what happened - the dish went to a different table. I was impressed that they were aware of the issue without us having to ask. They also compensated our bill for the delay again without any request from us.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
