Three of us enjoyed the quiche, flank steak, seafood risotto and we all shared the ricotta dumplings. All the food was wonderful (as usual). I love that the portions are enough, but not over the top. The main weak link that kept this from being perfect were the grapefruit bellinis. They tasted nothing like grapefruit and had the color of Tang - and unfortunately tasted like Tang (or OJ mix drink). My wife had the seafood risotto and I had the chicken breast and we both were very pleased with our choices. The carrot soup and chocolate bread pudding also were excellent. We were happily surprised to find that the latter had "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate in chocolate sauce. And we took home a serving of Story's renown German chocolate cake for later that evening. We were not disappointed.
Frida and Story were a great combination. Story is now one of our very favorite restaurants. She recommended a wine that neither of us had heard of. Her description of it was accurate and the wine was delicious. We would not see our server for long periods but when she was there she was very kind. We were offered additional bread service but it never came. This time we headed there for a quick dinner before going to a party later in the evening. I was hoping to get in while the soft shell crab was still on the menu and we were in luck. And, since we we had plans for the evening, our server was super quick (and very friendly) and we were in and out in about 45 minutes.
