I discovered Storefront about a year ago, and have been back for several excellent meals since. The cuisine consistently pleases and the service is top notch. The staff is friendly, curteous and knowledgeable and make you feel right at home. Menu changes seasonally, and is always well thought out. The rolls are also AMAZING. Perfect spot for a special occasion or for taking visiting foodie friends.

It is a Vettel 3 star and lived up to its billing. Food was great, just the right amount. Wine was great. The service was especially good. Always right there when you wanted them, but not too much. Pacing was just right as well. The rabbit was sooo good. Only complaint is that I couldn't supersize that course. Comparable to Moto and Elliot's at not quite half the price. Highly recommended.

Third visit in 4 months. Menu now exclusively tasting. Preferred having the option of a la carte entrees. Pacing far too slow at outset, but attentive sommelier addressed it immediately and to our satisfaction. The food and the ingredients were novel and creative, but didn't really taste that good. Frothy duck egg was almost tasteless. Squab was served rare, as it should be, but was cold, tough and gamey. Rabbit was okay, but accompanying organ meats were unpleasant instead of delicious. Past experiences were much better, when the restaurant was serving wonderful lamb, steak, fish entrees, and some excellent appetizer options. The exclusive use of a tasting menu is too limiting and just not that well-executed.

We chose the Storefront Company from the "ftr for foodies" listing in Chicago, looking for a restaurant not downtown (presumably less stuffy) and new. So we knew nothing more about the restaurant than the last few Open Table reviews. It was Friday night. The prix fixe menu (as far as I know there were not a la carte selections) was $99 per person and the wine pairing was an additional $69 each. Not an inexpensive evening when you add tax and tip. However, the food was delicious. The chef is not afraid to use bold flavors and let them shine. For example, a small piece of rabbit loin was served with rabbit heart and kidney with fennel flavor. Fantastic. If only the portion was doubled. The wine pairing was eclectic and generous.

Every course was outstanding, a d it was best wine pairing i have had. We go out frequently, and both agreed if I'd one of our top 3 meals in the last 10 years.

Simply wonderful neighborhood gem in Bucktown. The service is warm and friendly, while at the same time efficient and professional. The food ranges from very good to truly creative and outstanding, and there is a wide variety of dishes and preparations to entertain a group or a repeat customer (we ate there two nights in a row). Wine pairings with the tasting menu were well thought out and quite complementary. While the meal is not cheap, the quality and preparation justify, as does the ample servings. Compared to similar restaurants in Chicago and beyond, a meal is very reasonably priced. Run here before it is discovered and overrun.

I was impressed by the whole experience. It was a family dinner, with six people. The menu is set up for sharing, so we ordered two of everything for the table. One daughter is lactose intolerant, something we mentioned after we ordered. We joked that this would be a good challenge for someone on those competitive cooking shows. Care was taken to separate the creamy parts of each dish when possible, and to inform her when it was not possible. A special dessert was made for her. The food was very unusual, and every bite delicious. It was pricey, but worth it.

The food here is just amazing and I hope people will flock there to try it. The menu is made up of three prix fix options, and my group had the 3-course, which was PLENTY of food but not over the top. Every dish is beautiful, intricate and full of delights and surprises. Nonetheless, the food remains accessible. To start, our group of four tried all three of the first courses (scallops, quail and truffle pasta). We also were able to try all of the main courses (steak over heirloom tomatoes; an amazing fish; and rabbit). There is a cheese course option and then just wonderful desserts. This is elevated farm to table food at a level that I hope Bucktown can support.

We had no idea what to expect when we came to Storefront. Now we will never forget. The food across the board was beautiful, unique and delicious! The service was exceptional as well. I love when a black napkin is given for someone wearing black slacks! Usually you only get service like that in a more formal setting. The wines were perfectly chosen by the wine steward. The ambience is upscale but very comfortable. I highly recommend this gem.

We have eaten at Storefront Company twice and each experience was fabulous. From the greeting at the door to the bartender to the owners and the servers, nothing was less than perfect. Our experience was enhanced by the friendliness of every single person in the restaurant. You feel as if you are in their home. Cocktails are delicious-you can see the care they put into every single drink. We tried a variety of items from the menu-the spring greens salad, the mushroom appetizer, the Hen entree and one of the fish entrees (sorry I can't remember the name) along with a wonderful cheese course and a delicious strawberry dessert. If you sit at the bar you can watch the dessert chef work her magic...her creations are beautiful. We will be back!

When I read the description of the restaurant it sounded fresh with healthy food choices. Upon actual examination if the menu I felt like I needed an interpreter. Our excellent server translated, but I found some ingredients contrived e. g . Rye in chocolate dessert was over powering and I would have preferred a nice fresh piece of bread. A little less creativity would make the menu more desirable- in my humble opinion. But it was a lovely dinner

I was there this past Saturday night with my husband and three other couples. Overall, we had a nice experience, although there are a few things you should know before going. This is not a good restaurant for large groups. The tables are long and narrow and the noise level is very high. I was only able to talk to the people right next to me or right across from me. The hostess tried sitting us at two tables of 4, separated by a 1-2 foot space. When we gently complained, she agreed to seat us at another table. Our server was hurried and seemed to have too many tables, but he was knowledgeable. Although the menu is small, the food was flavorful and creative. Be prepared for small portions, especially the entrees. Loved the cheese plates!
