  • "This place could use a little help. The food was just ok and the inside it self could use some decorating, it was very plain jane. The staff was very nice and fast, but interrupted us to many times while we where eating. I would go back if things changed a bit..."

  • "This restaurant was fantastic and it has to have some of the best German food state side."

  • "Dinner piano music was very relaxing. Food is very authentic to the German cuisine."

  • "Food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. Different than prior ownership. Great evening."

  • "The food is wonderful - austrian/german menu items which are spot on!!!"

  • "Wonderful place for any night out that you want something special. Fri and Sat nights have a piano player. Food was excellent and servings are not so large that you have to pass on the dessert, which by the way was excellent."

  • "Very impressed that owner came by and said hello and asked how our meal was. The dessert was homemade apple streudle and terrific!!!"

  • "We've been there three times in as many months. Each time, the food was excellent. The third time we had to wait a bit, even with reservations, but that was only a testament to how popular and busy they are. The staff is courteous, and the owner/chef has come out each time we were there to check in with diners."

  • "My lovely wife loves wiener schnitzel. She is a German born sweetie. Food is consistently good. My oldest son loves the chicken paprikash. I always get a filet. Wait staff in general still needs a little work. Best way to sum it up is they are generally not to mindful with guests. The one waiter we had a few times, I don't know his name was always excellent. They were all working hard but mannerisms should still matter. Overall I still like going there and will again in the future. My family regularly spends weekends at Pamela's Forget Me Not. We have dinner at Stony Run and then spend the night at Pamela's and have breakfast served to us in the Carriage House. In closing I would like to say thank you to Lisa and hopefully see you soon."

  • "We ate here for Valentine's Day and we were very pleased. It was our first visit after reading an article in the paper about it. Our waiter Robert was excellent. He was helpful w/the menu and the specials. We had rack of lamb which had eight chops w/garlic mashed potatoes and jaegerschnitzel w/potato pancake and applesauce. Both were excellent. They serve German bier along w/wines to suit your dinner selection. We had the apple strudel and paschka for desert. Both were light and delicious. The owner/chef visited the tables to inquire about the meals and asked if there was anything she could do to improve them, A nice touch. There's also a pianist to enhance the dining experience. We highly recommend dining here."

  • "It's about time there's a great German restaurant in this area and this one fits the bill! We enjoyed our whole dining experience! Will definitely be back soon. Thanks."

  • "This was our first visit to Stony Run, but it won't be our last. The staff was excellent in explaining the different entrees. Being German food we weren't sure what all the dishes were. Everything we ate was delicious. From the beer to the apple strudel."

  • "We had a great dinner here. It was quite empty that night-we think it was because of the weather as the food was really good. Service was good also. We will go here again with friends when the weather is better. We were disappointed on no apple strudel, will call ahead to see if they have apple strudel. (and mashed potatoes)"

  • "Based on the reviews posted on Open Table I went to Stoney Run Inn and Griil with high expectations. I found the food, ambience and service all under par and as a result over priced. The snapper soup was all broth and the wiener schnitzel was all breading even after I paid extra for veal versus pork. I would not return nor would I recommend Stoney Run to a friend."

  • "Overall, a decent dining experience. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Food was nicely prepared. Surprised, given the pricing, at how very small the portions were (read: we both left hungry). Starter salads were unremarkable, bread was store-bought rye halves that were inexplicably served with seasoned olive oil. My wife enjoyed her weinerschnitzel and parsley potatoes. I liked the taste of the rahmscnitzel but there wasn't all that much of it on the plate.....ditto the paltry spaetzel "side". We ordered desserts: tart apple streudel was slightly overdone but the real star was the creamy concoction referred to as "Russian cheesecake". The restaurant is clean, but stark: even so, my advice is to ditch the "art for sale" on the walls."

  • "Had a party of three. Service staff was responsive, friendly and very personable. Food was served hot and delicious. Varied menu. Some items were sold out, but still had a great selection of choices. Food was very fresh and prepared for each order, no batch cooking done. If you are planning a special event, call ahead to check if you desire sauerbraten or other deserts like strudel. Over all a great dining experience. Looking forward to returning."

  • "well, i only live not only 10 miles from here, and first heard of it on the news. so, we went the other day....just an AWESOME experience!! the food is MADE to ORDER, you can hear the chef pounding the veil in the back, thats how good it was!! will definitely be going back!!!"

  • "Delicious authentic food with generous portions. Sauerbraten, Weinerscnitzel, Chicken Cordon Bleu & Veal dish with mushroom sauce were all phenomenal as well as the Spaetzle & German red cabbage. Quaint country inn setting. Dessert list is quite limited. Worth the drive!"

  • "This is an excellent place for authentic German food. Wienerschnitzel and jaegerschnitzel: The veal was delicious and tender. Excellent mashed potatoes, red cabbage and broccoli. Desserts were excellent also. Recommend to go there any time you want a ride in the countryside."

  • "If you like German food, you will like this restaurant. All courses were very good -- even the coffee. This is a new restaurant and the chef/owner needs to get the rhythm down in the kitchen. We had to wait a very long time for our food --- too long, but when the food got to the table, it was delicious. The place was noisy because the door to the kitchen was open. However, when the door was closed, the noise level went way down. We went on New Year's Eve, so we are not judging too harshly. Will try again when it is not a holiday."

  • "The restaurant seemed unprepared for our reservation but found us a table. Wait staff seemed a little overwhelmed but where apologetic for lack of attention. Food was excellent. Prices were a little on the high side which would make this restaurant a special occasion restaurant rather than just a night out restaurant."

  • "My wife and I have been looking for great German food in the Lehigh Valley for some time. I came across an ad for this place in The Morning Call and decided to make a reservation for NYE. It was a bit small and cramped although I think they squeezed more tables in due to NYE. However, the food and service was excellent. My wife had her favorite, wienerschnttzel (veal), and it was delicious as was my wienerschnitzel (pork). The wine list was a bit limited but we made do nicely. They also had several fish, steak and pork dishes for anyone in a party who might not want traditional German fare."

  • "we waited a LONG time for our food...which was okay when it came out ..it was a very BUSY night...our reservations were there but i think they forgot about us...the table they gave us was very ,very small...barely big enough for a plate of food each..there was 2 of us...we are going to go back and try it again as new years eve can be very busy....they did give us a free apple strudel which was delicious....thanks"

  • "For New Year's Eve this year (2013), my husband and I decided to check out this gem. It was a bit of a drive up a winding, steep hill, but well worth it! We were greeted by a very enthusiastic host who seated us right away. The inside literally looks like an old, colonial home (which I loved!) It was VERY cold in there, so I highly recommend a sweater or light jacket (old homes aren't well-insulated, which I expected). Our server was a very sweet, personable lady...when she decided to check on us. I'll cut her some slack because it was New Year's Eve, but it put a damper on the experience. However, the authentic German specialties were amazing! I recommend the spinach speatzles...creamy, cheesy, home-made to die for taste!"

  • "We are not from the area and happened on this restaurant via an internet search. My family ordered two German specialties along with rack of lamb, and a chicken dish. We were all very pleased with our meals. Our waiter was really fun and attentive, despite a packed house. If we ever find ourselves back in the area I would definately stop in again."

  • "Although we had a reservation we still had to wait over 15 minutes to be seated, so we had a drink and waited at the bar while talking to their regular customers, with that said I have to admit it was worth the wait, the food was delicious, served hot with beautiful plate presentation. Our server was great! very friendly and funny and attentive to all our needs, to top it off, Lisa the Chef and owner stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. We will definitely be back and will recommend to others."

  • "Our first time here. Our German food looked & tasted absolutely wonderful!!! Our German Biers were delicious! Unfortunately it was SO LOUD where we sat in a small back room that we literally couldn't have a conversation! We recommend Stoney Run for delicious German Food & Drink!"

  • "This is the second time we visited and were a little nervous after our first experience. The service was excellent this time and the food was outstanding. Our table of seven was handed with ease by our server, Tammy. Lisa stopped by to check on us and chatted for a bit. Highly recommend visiting Stony Run Inn!"

  • "Very pleasant first time visit to Stony Run. Great old country inn with very nice bar and dining facilities. Food was very good and very reasonably priced. We will go back to this restaurant. Well worth the short ride from the Allentown area."

  • "There aren't many German restaurants in this area so I was excited to try this place. The food was excellent! Will definitely be back for more apple strudel and spaetzle."

  • "This is a nice little place that looks like a house with tables in each of the rooms. This is fine, but with hardwood floors the noise level is high. Everything echo's and it's hard to talk quietly with your party. The food was good, nothing memorable. The bread portions are very small. I think a plus would be if they served warm rolls or small loaves of bread. I didn't care for the square bowls, but not a big deal. I do not recommend the cucumber salad. It tasted watered down, didn't have any flavor at all. But it was a nice place to try once!"

  • "We enjoyed our meal here very much. The service was fairly quick, which was a nice surprise after reading several reviews complaining about the slow service. Our food was good - the smoked pork chops were amazing and the pork wiener schnitzel was very good. The food tasted authentically German."

  • "After a friend recommended Stony Run Inn & Grill on Face Book, we had to try it. We've been missing authentic German food since we were no longer close to a favorite in Virginia, and the only other one we knew of closed in Reading, PA. So happy we found Stony Run. We will be regulars."

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed the Wienerschnitzel, spaetzls, apple strudel, and german beer that we had. It was a lovely dining experience, with attentive staff and excellent food. Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic German food."

  • "Stony Run Inn is a picturesque country inn in a small hamlet away from the maddening world. It specializes in Austrian & German food but other selections can be found on the menu. The food was very good with pricing commensurate with its preparation and presentation. Two of us ate well for $50 which included one bar drink. There were costlier items on the menu but we stuck to the PA German standards of sausage, red cabbage, cucumber salad, spaetzel, spinach and potato dumplings. Everything was prepared fresh including the egg noodles and it was truly apparent. The atmosphere is relaxed, country inn style but reservations are highly recommended. On Sunday at their 5:00 pm opening, there were already a third full."

  • "We were looking for German Food and found it. It was not the best sauerbraten I ever had but it was tasty. My husband had a dish with a sampling of sausage and pork which was also very good. We'll return sometime in the future when we're in the mood for German food. Although they do serve non German food, we do not live close enough to consider stopping in more often. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and found the service to be good."
