A friend and I came to Stonewood to celebrate our birthdays. The hostess took us before our reservation time and seated us at a quiet table in a side room. Our server, Christa, came to the table immediately to take our drink order. She made our celebration fun and even though she was busy she was very attentive and came often to check on us. Our food was amazing and came to the table piping hot. Christa surprised us with yummy desserts to celebrate our birthdays, a perfect end to a perfect evening. Can't think of a thing I would change!

We had a wonderful time at SG on Saturday night ... the restaurant was busy so the noise level was a bit elevated, but the food was delicious as usual. Our waiter, Luca, was excellent. Very accommodating, came by frequently but not obtrusively, gave good recommendations and genuinely cared about his customers. Every one on the wait staff went out of their way to ensure our experience was all that it should be.

Stonewood Grill is a great dining experience. The decor is beautiful and the booths are very comfortable. Service is wonderful and the food and choices are so good! Love this place. My favorite thing is the pretzel bread that is served before the meal. Yum!!

The restaurant is attractive, the food very good. The service was attentive and not overbearing. I liked the Crab crusted grouper while my wife preferred the short ribs. For desert, the chocolate bread pudding was marvelous. The food is always consistent.

After 43 years of marriage, we aren't looking for roving violinists anymore; just a leisurely dinner with good food, good wine, and good friendly service. The Stonewood filled the bill nicely. The menu has a good variety of perfectly prepared entrees, salads, soups, desserts, and a nice selection of wines. We eat at the Stonewood several times each year, and have never been disappointed with this location.

The dinner atmosphere and service was excellent. The prime rib was unfortunately tough. The shrimp and scallops were very good but the broccoli side was barely cooked with very little taste. We have been there for lunch and the hamburger was delicious.

Stonewood on University Pkwy is a consistently excellent stop for quality food, decent wine, and superior service. It gets a bit crowded during the "snow bird" season so it could make use of a slightly bigger customer waiting area (though the bar is large, populated by plenty of TV's tuned to sports, and noisy). The menu is not extensive but always good and the 15-year specials are worth a try.

We showed up over an hour early for our reservation, so we had no trouble being seated at the table of our choice. Our server was excellent, the food was delicious, the price was right, and we were pleased to see that Stonewood is finally establishing a Rewards/Loyalty Program, which we signed up for on the spot. Stonewood remains one of our go-to restaurants.

My husband and I are seniors and our appetites are not as grand as they once were. Stonewood offers generous portions that we may share a delicious meal, in a delightful atmosphere, with ever accommodating servers. Stonewood's dinner options are always unique, well-planned and balanced. I appreciate my "date night" even more whenever we're at Stonewood: conveniently located, easily-made reservations, and dining rewards.

Always our favorite steakhouse, we may have to reconsider. We generally go at least once a week but due to summer vacation, we've hadn't been in about a month. To our surprise, the menu has changed! Gone is the larger Filet (the 9oz) leaving only the smaller 6oz available. And much to my dismay, the 6oz WAS NOT what I expected from Stonewood. It appeared to be a butterflied filet - a no-no in higher-end steak houses. My filet was about a half inch thick, more the size of a sirloin that you'd find from a place like Applebees, etc. Additionally, my baked potato was raw and hard. I have always held Stonewood to higher level, just below Council Oaks. So I am VERY disappointed in the quality of food during our last visit.

We had a pleasant dining experience on a Friday evening. We arrived before "Happy Hour" ended, so drink and wine (by the glass or bottle) were very reasonable. Our server was most pleasant and competent. Our disappointment were our entrees. We selected chicken dishes off the special summer menu. The chicken breasts on both plates were tough - either old or over-cooked. Neither of us finished the entree. Accompanying items and sauces were fine.

We booked a table here for a 4th July family get together and were surprised to get a table so easily. From the moment we entered the restaurant all of the staff were friendly and attentive and really went out of their way to ensure that we were looked after. The food was delicious and the pace of service just right to ensure that we enjoyed the meal. This place will be firmly on our list to revisit frequently.

The food was great, we had a perfect window table, and the noise level very quiet and conducive to having nice conversation. Service was helpful, quick and very pleasant. We will definitely be returning. Ability to make reservation on line, a real help. The only part I had trouble with was being able to reserve a table on that system, as I somehow got into a "loop." Otherwise, the experience was perfect for what our little group of 4 needed. Thank you.

We were seated at a nice booth in the bar area, which was fine with us. A waitress immediately took our drink order, and Saudi that our waiter would be with us momentarily, which he was. Devon was personable and efficient, got us our hot pretzel rolls with extra salt, and generally made our dining experience a pleasurable one. I had one of the $15 chicken dishes, and it was both delicious and filling. We'll be back soon!

My Wife and I went to the Stonewood Grill & Tavern in North Sarasota to celebrate her birthday. A number of surrounding tables and booths were filled and served before our waiter first visited us. I don't blame the waitstaff as much as the management. It appeared our waiter had tables all over the restaurant instead of in a section. We ordered entrees off the special $15 menu. I guess you get what you pay for. My chicken Florentine was bland, under cooked, sat in what appeared to be a cup of watery fluid and was accompanied with a glob of spinach mess. My wife's chicken with mushrooms was also tasteless and served with rice, although the menu specified potatoes. The waiter told us almost 80% of the Chicken Florentine dinners were returned.

Food and drinks were excellent, definitely up to their normal standards. But, little things detracted from our overall enjoyment. I specifically asked for my blue cheese olives on the side (I don't like the vodka taste influenced by the olives); our waiter brought the drink with the olives in the drink. We asked for pretzel rolls with lots of salt; they came out room temperature (they're usually very hot!) and almost devoid of salt. Lastly, a manager stood at the booth behind us for more than 15 minutes, talking to a couple of customers. It got quite annoying after awhile; it was like having a loud diner behind you because he was standing above the level of the booth. We finally asked him to stop, which he quickly did. Little things.
