Diner Reviews
  • "Great venue to watch a band, the service was great, BUT the food was terrible, very small portions and not tasty at all, I suggest eating ahead of time, and going down for a few drinks and watch a band great venue for it."

  • "Great food. Great entertainment. Awesome service. "

  • "We had reservations and were seated quickly. While waiting for friends who had travelled quite a distance, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. Our friends barely touched their burgers. One member of our group asked for food to be re-heated. Another member's food, the same entree, was the the total opposite and steaming hot. Consistency and serving temperature need improvement. Hard to get the attention of our server at the end of our experience."

  • "We stopped in on the way to a concert. The menu on Event Night as we found out is very limited. It is more of a bar scene than a restaurant. For younger diners with better ears this might be a better choice."

  • "Was very dissappointed to have to choose from a limited menu.Chose Stonewalls to try the Saganaki and Antojitos and couldn't. It was very very busy ,but the servers seemed to be more interested in serving the people on the patio.I am assuming that the mangement knew how busy it was going to be with Black Sabbath being in town and didn't have enough staff. Will not be back noe will I recommend Stonewalls to anyone."

  • "Worked out great. Ordered an app and a nice salad each. Sandee came over for a reading, so the choice of a salad was perfect. Waitress was really friendly."

  • "Enjoyed every moment every time I come there to watch Sarah Smith and darcy Feaver perform. The waitress was always on top of taking very good care of our table of ten. Thank you again will be back"

  • "Took my daughter (age 22) and 8 people for her birthday. It was a Sunday evening, so relatively quiet. First visit and just walking in looked very nice. Seated quickly(had reservations) Asked for appetizer before drinks and both came very quickly. Staff was very accomodating re:table for gifts, cake arrangements(added candles) was not rushed to order, but when we finally did the food came promptly. Everyone was pleased with serving size and quality. Shay (spelling?) was our server and she was GREAT. Friendly, polite and efficient, and patient with our special requests. Band was i little too loud for the size of the venue, but the lead singer/guitarist impressed us with "cold hearted woman". Overall good time, would recommend easily."

  • "For the most part our experience was good- there was a bit of a communication breakdown & we waited a while before we got our appetizer & when we did get it our dinner came about 5 minutes later. We asked our server to take back the dinner & we were told we would get a fresh dinner but the sole I had was luke warm. It wasn't the servers fault but we spoke to the owner & he apologised & gave us a drink each on the house. Rest of the night was good & we enjoyed the band playing that night."

  • "Visited for first time. Menu is ok, typical bar food. Wine list is disappointing, beer menu is ok. Venue is great for a gathering of friends, in a large updated pub environment. Went on a Saturday, busier after 9 pm, which was fun. Good band, big dance floor. Would visit again in a group, but not great for a 1-1 date. Disappointed that menu was small and really geared to pub food, nothing special. Service was good. Not a foodie joint, but a good location for groups..."

  • "Had a 5:30 reservation before the Bulldogs game. Restaurant was almost empty. Poor service (waitress did not know wine options - brought wrong wine to the table). Ordered nachos with chicken, chicken was missing. Food was terrible (dry, flavourless nachos, skimpy salad, poorly seasoned rice). Check was $100 - should have gone down the street to Quiznos or Swiss Chalet. Will never return. Will not recommend the restaurant to others."

  • "The food is good, but the menu is not particularly vegetarian friendly. If I did not also eat fish, there was hardly any entree that I would be able to order. The portion size is good, and the prices are average, sometimes a little higher than average, but the service was very good."

  • "My wife and I recently attended Stinewall's and found it to be a very lovely experience. We arrived for some drinks and discovered the band that was playing was a high energy cover band of a popular 80's band we both enjoyed. It was a very good time."

  • "Allowing cars to park in the middle of the parking lot, with no lines to guide the drivers, creates a real problem for cars parked along the sides of the parking lot to get out. One of our group had great difficulty backing out of her spot because the cars parked in the middle of the lot were too close to enable her to back her car out safely. I urge the management to look at this issue. The restaurant is satisfactory, but the parking issue has resulted in our group of diners deciding that we won't return to Stonewalls."

  • "Wine list is very poor, very limited and what us offered is bad wine. This is an easy fix. Our Calamari was awful. It was cold and dripping in grease. However, it's a great venue for a band and somewhere to dance."

  • "loved the food, everything tasted fresh and flavourful Was there for a pre concert meal and arrived at 4:45 -only thing is that I felt we were being rushed out the door"

  • "Half the main dish menu was either no longer an option or they didn't have in stock at 5pm on a Sat. night The wait staff have no communication skills between them because they kept screwing up our drink orders because 2 were serving our table at the same time"

  • "communication between kitchen and wait staff not good. Ordered one soup....later told they had run out...ordered the alternative...when it came it was yet another kind of soup. Waitress was good ...personable... offered to make amends for mix ups. Entertainment was fantastic. Ruth Sutherland and Doug Feaver."

  • "Great place for a get together - especially love the large booths where you can sit and talk to everyone at your table. The food is always great - never had a bad experience since coming when it opened. I also like it because of the fact that it entertains an older crowd and families - something missing in Hamilton - if you don't like fast food restaurants. We have a group of friends that meet on a regular basis and Stonewalls has been our restaurant of choice for the past few years - easy to find and lots of FREE parking gives a thumbs up to this establishment."

  • "Croutons for your excellent salads instead of the slice of homemade bread. We could not cut or eat the bread as it was to hard..everything else was excellent and we will return and recommend it as a must dine experience !!! Shea was a amazing waitress and provided the best of service .. Kindest regards. Hottie. :)"

  • "It was a busy night for the restaurant however service was quite poor! Had a reservation so we were seated quickly but then waited close to 20 minutes to be acknowledged and another 15 for drink orders to be taken which we had to basically flag someone down for. Food was the saving grace, all 4 of us enjoyed our meals and were quite pleased (& surprised) how good it was. Despite the great location to Copps, until they learn how to handle a full restaurant we won't be returning for a while."

  • "Nov 9/13 at 4pm prior to the Dixie Chicks concert was our first visit to Stonewalls. Pleasantly surprised with the great customer service from the hostess, the abundance of food that tasted fantastic (try the garlic bread/bun with cheese - this was a meal in itself and delicious), and the friendly waitresses that kept asking if we needed anything else. We have already looked on their website to check out music engagements to go back for the entertainment and another meal. Thanks Stonewalls for a great experience."

  • "Myself and five friends attended Stonewalls to have dinner prior to a show at Hamilton Place. We arrived after having made reservations to the restaurant and found that we were placed in the middle of two large parties when their were several empty booths. They moved us after consultation amongst themselves. The service was incredibly slow, taking over 20 minutes to get our drinks. The restaurant is loud, to the point that we had to yell to one another to converse - and this was only 6:00 pm at night. At the end of the meal, the waitress gave us our bills and they were all incorrect but we were late for our 8:00 pm show so we just passed money around to one another. We will not be returning to this restaurant."

  • "Has reservations prior to a concert. Food was very good, however service was terrible. Waitress would not seat us a booth even though many unoccupied during our stay. After drink orders she tried to rush into our meal orders, then basically ignored us when we chose not to be rushed."

  • "Thanks for providing my family with a great meal on Thanksgiving Monday. My parents were visiting from out of town and we all had a great time and enjoyed the food. The waitress was very friendly and the kitchen made sure all the food was served hot and at its best."

  • "Overall was great, however the band was TOO loud, we were at the back and still couldn't carry a one on one conversation"

  • "Waitress was good, place was friendly atmosphere. There was two of us, so ate at the elevated bar tables. Booths are big, good for big groups but not good for 2-4 diners. We had the Bruschetta for appetizer (disappointing), followed by the fish and chips (Okay). Drinks were fair priced and good quality. It is a bar, not a restaurant. Would I go back for the music, drinks Yes, Would I go back for the food - No."

  • "We arrived early and had our choice of seats. Our hostess was pleasant and professional. We order and enjoyed a superb meal, I had fish and chips which was excellent! My wife had the Chicken Pot Pie and the chunks of chicken were huge, its was hot and tastey"

  • "Had a great time. Went to see Desire - U2 cover band. Had reservations for 8pm. Waited at table at least 10 minutes before any server came over to inquire about drinks... THIS is not the first time this has happened.... Service could be alot better, faster for sure!!!! However, Once we were greeted by a server whom wasn't even serving our table.. The night started. Dee was our server from that point on as requested my me,... SHE was fabulous. The food was Fabulous as well... Overall experience was a 7 out of 10... Great place for special occasions.. or just to watch a sporting event...or see a band.!!!! Highly Recommend this Gem!!"

  • "Menu was intresting and our meals were good. Asked for a small adjustment glad to agree but didn't tell the kitchen. Went for a show. Server barely made a pass by on the hour. Saw much more of the other staff. Sound system really hampered the performers. could not hear the vocals and when you did you could not understand them. Nice decore. Nothing bad about the place just nothing lept out. Might go back for the food, won't go back for a show."

  • "My friends and I live in different cities, so it's hard to get together often. When we do, we enjoy chatting, catching up and recalling the 'good old days'. Stonewalls is an easy to get to location from the highway, and offers a varied menu for different tastes. One of my friends was caught in traffic, so was a little later than the rest of us. I appreciated that the wait staff did not try to rush us to order, as we waited her arrival. Good points! We enjoyed our food, and drinks (sorry, too full to order dessert!). Waitress was great about splitting the bill the way we wanted it. Another good point! Overall, a very pleasant experience, and I look forward to returning soon."
