Diner Reviews
  • "We've been to Stones Cove several times and every time we go it's always consistent with the service, the friendly staff. We like the varied menu. It's always fun to try something new."

  • "Stone's Cove has been a great new place for us to go. The food is a bit more ambitious than what you might normally find in Baltimore County without being pretentious. The menu changes seasonally and the seasonal specials usually are interesting and flavorful. Most are tappas style and great for sharing. Don't let the kitchen/bar concept scare you. Most of the time you'll get fellow foodies next or near to you and pleasant banter. Try the lobster cones as a unique treat!"

  • "I order the fish tacos every time I dine here. The are superb! My lunch companion also ordered the fish tacos and loved them equally well. Service was good. Ambiance is what you would expect in a kitbar."

  • "This was our second visit to Stone's Cove KitBar. It's a fun atmosphere with everyone moving around behind the bar and stopping by to check on you during dinner. The food was very good, but the white wine could have been a little colder. We'll probably be back."

  • "After previous visits to this location, decided to head to Stones Cove on a week night for a birthday celebration. Fish tacos are always a favorite. Half price wine night was a bonus."

  • "I dine here primarily for the fish tacos. If you like fish tacos, you must try these. They use swai and season so nicely. The slaw includes sliced apples. A must try!"

  • "Stone cove is a great place for good food and drinks, and great ambiance. My friend and I went for a quick bite to eat after a long day. We arrived around 830pm. The service was quick at first. We ordered the lobster cones, shrimp and grits, and crab cake sandwich. Everything came out fast and tasted amazing. After that things took a turn as the servers began preparing for closing at 9pm (the restaurant closes at 10). We waited for about 15 min after we finished eating before we were acknowledge again by staff who were engrossed in polishing silverware. Finally ordered strawberry shortcake dessert. After finishing that, had to flag down someone to get check. Recommend this place only if it's well before closing!!"

  • "Food and service were great. Little dishes from the lobster cones to the flatbreads to start off and then sharing multiple dinner items. To top it off, the smores flatbread for dessert and there were votes for a second one."

  • "This is a favorite!! The food is always excellent. They change their menu often enough that is always a surprise. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!"

  • "This was my third visit to Stone's Cove. The Pear flower Martini continues to be the most amazing drink. We shared upside down meatloaf cupcakes, tuna sashimi, Greek salad and Cuban Sandwich. It was more than enough for two. Everything was delicious. The tomato "ketchup" on the meatloaf was fabulous. Did not expect to find red bell peppers in the meatloaf, but was able to pick them out. The tuna melted in your mouth. Both the Greek salad and the Cuban were big hits as well. The service was friendly even though it was extremely busy for a week night. Once we got our first dish, the rest came out fairly quickly. Sharing dishes is highly recommended and makes for a fun evening. "

  • "Lunch can be a real downer. Brown bag it or be disappointed in fast food joints. Not so! Right down the hill from me is the very creative and fun Stone's Cove KitBar. Servers are friendly and funny and the food is pretty and tasty. I had the mini-meatloaves and ahi tuna. I over ordered! No problem, those mini-meatloaves nestled in a mini-mountain of horseradish mashed potatoes travel well and are delicious reheated. Get in there! Have fun! Enjoy lunch again!"

  • "Discovered this spot when looking for somewhere be to eat in Owings Mills. You don't get a lot of food but the food is deFinitely good. It's small plate eating so you get just enough."

  • "I ordered the fish tacos and they were excellent as usual. Hubby had the flat iron steak and he thought it was cooked and seasoned nicely. It is only served with veggies, though, so not very filling. If you have a big appetite, you will want to order something with it. My friend had the quiche special and loved it. The service was much better this time than it was during our last visit."

  • "Been here several times. The food is always wonderful. The only problem is that the food comes out as soon as it's prepared and it's not all prepared at the same time. Twice now my husband and my appetizers and entres have come out at different times. "

  • "Very different set up where you sit "up" around a kitchen- atmosphere was very lively. Menu set up as to encourage sharing- lobster cones and flatbreads were delicious. Very limited desserts- try the strawberry sliders...yummy. Not a place for little kids as the seating is at pub level, but suitable for my 13 year old. We will definitely come back. "

  • "I can not say enough about the staff at Stone Cove - Owings Mills!!! We are not a first time patron, but every time we go the service provided is more stellar then the last! The food is great and the beverage selection is awesome! This is definitely one of mine and my husbands staple go to place! :-) The Pfeiffers"

  • "My friend and I ate here early Friday evening. We enjoyed the food, drinks, and the ability to catch-up with each other at our own table in privacy. However, towards the end of the meal, I guess since there was only two of us, they sat another couple at our table. Neither groups were pleased and the couple asked to move to their own table but decided to stay since we decided to leave. Puts you in a very umcomfortable situation if you don't want to mingle with strangers or have them overhear private coversations!"

  • "I took my friend out for lunch and we sat by the bar it was excellent for us cause we watched our food get made the waiters were there when we had questions and gave us good suggestions. I will definitely go back there again. "

  • "We were excited to try the kitbar experience and it didn't disappoint. Portions were smaller than other restaurants we are used to but food was delicious. Specialty drinks, wine and beer were also all yummy too. We'd definitely return. "

  • "And I shouldn't, because there a number of delicious items on the menu as I see from those I dine there with. Try it!"

  • "went to happy hour. Server did not discuss happy hour bar drinks. Only new they had them after heard another server discuss with another patron . Probably would have gotten a happy hour drink for the dollar instead of the martini I had ordered if I had known"

  • "I never did find the lobster in the lobster bisque and I did not want or need other "enhancements" for that dish. The food here is not simple. Everything has a "twist". If you like tasty but not twisted, this is not your spot. If you like a bit different, they've got it."

  • "Food and drinks are great! Just the right amount to relax and enjoy!"

  • "I was expecting so much more from a kitchen I could watch. Cookie cuter meals, with a weird srvice concept. Everything was overpriced."

  • "Seasonal menu. Delicious. Extremely friendly and attentive staff - from hostess to waitstaff to manager. Easy. Relaxing. "

  • "The person at the hostess stand - who seemed to be a manager - frowned when I asked for a high chair for my 2 year old son. She said "we don't have high chairs or booster seats." she then informed me that I'd have to wait another 30 minutes for a table if I want to bring my son in with me. I have never felt this bad at any restaurant and we eat out several times per week. It was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Since we never ate at this restaurant, I can't really rate the food, but I gave it a 1 star because I'm assuming that the food will be just as horrible as the service I received."

  • "My wife and I went around 8:45 on a Monday night. We were greeted by the hostess and seated. We ordered our food about 15 minutes after we got there. The food arrived very sporadically and the server did not bother tell us what we were being served. Normally this wouldn't matter, but we had ordered a dip platter and it wasn't described on the menu. That plate was also practically thrown in front of us. The food was average at best. Over the course of our meal, we had to practically yell to get a server to come over to us to refill drinks. The servers did not bother to check on us. Overall, the average food was not enough to overcome the extremely poor service. We won't be returning any time soon."

  • "Girlfriends lunched before an afternoon of mahjongg. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was top-notch. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever tasted! Someone else ordered the mini meatloaves and she absolutely loved her choice. Also ordered were the hamburger and hotdog...both delicious! The staff was very friendly and our service was great. GOOD JOB!!"

  • "There were 3 of us in the party. Another person in my party arrived first, but when I got there, I touched base with the hostess. They were very short, almost annoyed that I touched base (I was the one that made the reservation, so I just wanted to let them know all had arrived). The food was good, they partially make it in the back kitchen, then you watch them assemble and heat up your items. The server was extremely slow, he wasn't very attentive. We were barely finished and he immediately brought us the check. Overall, the food was good, but not exceptional."

  • "Looking at the menu online I thought I knew exactly what I wanted until I arrived at the restaurant. There were so many delicious selections before me that it was hard to choose. The fish tacos and buffalo chicken flatbread were fabulous. I can't wait to return so that I can try more fantastic dishes."

  • "We went there for my wife's birthday because someone had recommended to us. Definitely a different atmosphers with the kit-bar scene. The bartender/waiter was vert attentive and service was good. The menu is a little limited but everything we had (5 of us) was well prepared and tasty!. We had the lobster cones and margherita crab lettuce wraps for appetizers, both very good. For dinner, shrimp and grits, the tilapia and crab cakes were all excellent. My son had the prime rib french dip which was also very good. Would recommend for a group of 4, maybe 6 since the configuration of the bar makes it a little awkward for a larger group."

  • "Food was good BUT you didn't get very much No salads or bread offer with your meal really not even sides you didn't get a choice what was on your plate really didn't get to see much going on as a kitbar server was nice clean place I would go back again but not too often"

  • "Went on a Sunday around 5 PM....it was empty. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and had a party of 6. We shared several apps the best of which was the upside down meatloaf. We also had the lobster cones (just ok) and the duck breast which was tasty. Two of us ordered the lobster bisque which was excellent! Entrees were chicken kabobs just ok but when dipped into the pina colada sauce they popped! Two of us had the sirloin steak and it was average and we also had the Cuban sandwich. I think their Cuban sandwich is just about the best I've had (Florida included.) For dessert we were treated to s'more flatbread because we were celebrating birthdays. All of the employees were super nice! We left feeling satisfied & will return soon."

  • "The food was great the portions were a little small but the staff was very friendly even put on the game for my husband. Only complaint was that we sat right next to he door and it had a breeze every time people game in but the hot stove helped."

  • "Stone's Cove is a great dining experience. You can try several things on the menu each time you go and each dish is better than the last one. All the people behind the bar are very friendly and helpful and it's great that as each one comes by, they check on you and make sure everything is going well without being overbearing. The food is fantastic--best in town hands down and why we keep going back over and over again. If you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and make plans to go. You won't be disappointed!"
