Diner Reviews
  • "The person at the hostess stand - who seemed to be a manager - frowned when I asked for a high chair for my 2 year old son. She said "we don't have high chairs or booster seats." she then informed me that I'd have to wait another 30 minutes for a table if I want to bring my son in with me. I have never felt this bad at any restaurant and we eat out several times per week. It was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Since we never ate at this restaurant, I can't really rate the food, but I gave it a 1 star because I'm assuming that the food will be just as horrible as the service I received."

  • "My wife and I went around 8:45 on a Monday night. We were greeted by the hostess and seated. We ordered our food about 15 minutes after we got there. The food arrived very sporadically and the server did not bother tell us what we were being served. Normally this wouldn't matter, but we had ordered a dip platter and it wasn't described on the menu. That plate was also practically thrown in front of us. The food was average at best. Over the course of our meal, we had to practically yell to get a server to come over to us to refill drinks. The servers did not bother to check on us. Overall, the average food was not enough to overcome the extremely poor service. We won't be returning any time soon."

  • "Girlfriends lunched before an afternoon of mahjongg. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was top-notch. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever tasted! Someone else ordered the mini meatloaves and she absolutely loved her choice. Also ordered were the hamburger and hotdog...both delicious! The staff was very friendly and our service was great. GOOD JOB!!"

  • "There were 3 of us in the party. Another person in my party arrived first, but when I got there, I touched base with the hostess. They were very short, almost annoyed that I touched base (I was the one that made the reservation, so I just wanted to let them know all had arrived). The food was good, they partially make it in the back kitchen, then you watch them assemble and heat up your items. The server was extremely slow, he wasn't very attentive. We were barely finished and he immediately brought us the check. Overall, the food was good, but not exceptional."

  • "We went there for my wife's birthday because someone had recommended to us. Definitely a different atmosphers with the kit-bar scene. The bartender/waiter was vert attentive and service was good. The menu is a little limited but everything we had (5 of us) was well prepared and tasty!. We had the lobster cones and margherita crab lettuce wraps for appetizers, both very good. For dinner, shrimp and grits, the tilapia and crab cakes were all excellent. My son had the prime rib french dip which was also very good. Would recommend for a group of 4, maybe 6 since the configuration of the bar makes it a little awkward for a larger group."

  • "Looking at the menu online I thought I knew exactly what I wanted until I arrived at the restaurant. There were so many delicious selections before me that it was hard to choose. The fish tacos and buffalo chicken flatbread were fabulous. I can't wait to return so that I can try more fantastic dishes."

  • "Food was good BUT you didn't get very much No salads or bread offer with your meal really not even sides you didn't get a choice what was on your plate really didn't get to see much going on as a kitbar server was nice clean place I would go back again but not too often"

  • "Went on a Sunday around 5 PM....it was empty. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and had a party of 6. We shared several apps the best of which was the upside down meatloaf. We also had the lobster cones (just ok) and the duck breast which was tasty. Two of us ordered the lobster bisque which was excellent! Entrees were chicken kabobs just ok but when dipped into the pina colada sauce they popped! Two of us had the sirloin steak and it was average and we also had the Cuban sandwich. I think their Cuban sandwich is just about the best I've had (Florida included.) For dessert we were treated to s'more flatbread because we were celebrating birthdays. All of the employees were super nice! We left feeling satisfied & will return soon."

  • "The food was great the portions were a little small but the staff was very friendly even put on the game for my husband. Only complaint was that we sat right next to he door and it had a breeze every time people game in but the hot stove helped."

  • "Stone's Cove is a great dining experience. You can try several things on the menu each time you go and each dish is better than the last one. All the people behind the bar are very friendly and helpful and it's great that as each one comes by, they check on you and make sure everything is going well without being overbearing. The food is fantastic--best in town hands down and why we keep going back over and over again. If you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and make plans to go. You won't be disappointed!"

  • "Bar tenders/chefs! What a fun idea. The place is very nice. Food is great. Flatbreads are amazing. They easily customize menu items and even create stuff unique for you. The bartenders are also the ones cooking your food. The cold and hot dip appetizer is something to try for sure."

  • "My husband and I invited another couple for the husband's birthday this past Sunday at 3pm. Since we had previously had a great experience we expected the same this time. However our original waiter who took our order @ 3pm never returned and it seemed as though there was an expectation that other waiters would see to our needs, but this was not the case. I was embarassef because I had raved to our friends about Stone"s Cove. I will think twice before re-visiting. I know they share the total tips for the day, but that should not effect how they treat diners. We felt totally neglected. My name Is Jackie Williams and I made a reservation for 3pm on Sunday February 16th."

  • "Menu doesn't change, but the food is interesting and tasty. The wine list is decent. The dirty deed martini is yummy. I like the kitbar concept. The service started out bring good but then the waiter stopped caring, it seemed. He was very lackadaisical. After we had paid we told him next time to make sure the grits and shrimp were adequately heated, and he basically rolled his eyes and blew us off. There is essentially no dessert offering - just s'mores on a flatbread, cones filled with white chocolate, and strawberry shortcake. That's it."

  • "Stone's Cove has a unique business model that places the food preparation behind the bar, hence "KitBar." The seating arrangement lends itself to communal dining with strangers, so not the best place for a romantic getaways. I took my wife for a quick bite on valentines day and they were stormed from 4-11p. The food is fantastic and the wait staff is great. The hosting could be a little stronger, but i'll give it a pass this time."

  • "My husband and I have been to Stone Cove on so many occasions and every time it is consistently great, from the food to the staff, and to the overall ambience! We love it and would highly recommend it."

  • "I took my wife there for Valentine's Day and at first we were impressed with the concept and the ambiance. However, the portions were taste test sizes and the flavor of the crab cake was horrible. The only good thing about this experience was our waiter. They gave my wife a rose at the end of our dining experience, but my wife so disappointed she left the rose in the parking lot. Oh and one more thing there prices were outrageous. Not saying I couldn't afford it, but it just wasn't worth it"

  • "Watered down drinks! Not a lot of food on the menu and only one dessert...what in the WORLD is a strawberry shortcake biscuit anyway???"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "This was my first time at this restaurant , it happened to be Valentine's Day and I'm not sure who was really my waiter. The service was ok, I guess it was a busy night and they couldn't be as attentive. But it took them awhile to take my order while others around me had their food. I came alone so I assume they didn't take my visit serious enough, anyhow the food was good and they served just the right amount"

  • "I went here for Date Night with the hubby. The waiter didn't come over to greet us for at least 10 minutes and that's how the service started and ended. The food was fair at most as well as the service. The drinks were great. I had a bloody deed that was wonderful. Other than that we have no reason to go back."

  • "Pros: -it's new, different, cute - I like seeing the food prepared Cons: - even with a reservation you still have to wait 30mins, seems too small to handle the demand - should be taken off of open table because they cannot handle the demand - limited menu, only two desserts - seating arrangements are very uncomfortable, you have to sit with other parties that you do not know Definitely would not return. Perfect for Stevenson University. Too small for anything else."

  • "I went there Saturday night. We sat 10 minutes after our reservation time. The server came within 5 minutes and then returned with drinks and we places our app order. We then received the app and she never took our dinner order. I had to remind her she didnt take it yet. However, the food came out VERY quickly, so it wasnt a big deal, but she never came to check on us, so I was happy the food was so good. I had to stop her for drink refills too. As I said, the food was amazing. It is smaller portions though, so my husband was sad his steak was so small (it was delicious),but for $12 he couldnt complain. I ordered a glass of moscato and it tasted old. I did not send it back though because i don't like to complain! We will return."

  • "I have been here twice and each time the service has been very bad. They do not appear to train their servers very well and their bartenders have little to no knowledge of how to make a drink. I attributed my first disappointing outing here to the fact that it was new. It's not new anymore, and not any better"
    Dined on 2/8/2014
  • "The service was attentive and friendly, however we felt the overall experience somewhat disappointing. Our expectations were that of an intimate, personal dinning experience, however it was not much different from any other dining experience with a limited menu."

  • "Have dined here several times, including hosting a group of 20 for a midweek happy hour/dinner. This is a fun concept, with the food prep are in the center of the restaurant, completely visible. Love the small plates, great for sharing! Service is attentive and efficient. Added this to my regular rotation for sure."

  • "Very disappointing. Disappointing mediocre food, lousy drinks, only fair service, even though the place was virtually empty. Probably won't go back."
    Dined on 2/2/2014
  • "I had the fish tacos, which are above average and are filling enough to be a stand-alone meal unless you are a big eater. Hubby ordered the sirloin with grits. He liked the steak and sauce very much and thought the grits were prepared nicely with a little cheese to add flavor. The service was fair at best. When we were seated our server told us two colleagues would be helping serve us. The problem with the three server model is that everyone assumes the other two servers are taking care of the diners and no one does. I say this because after our meals were served, we never saw a server again until we were finished eating. Even then it was to tell us that our appetizers would be right out (wrong table!). We asked for the check and left."

  • "It's a strange layout of mostly high top tables. I guess they want you to feel like you are sitting at a bar. Almost all small plate dishes so it's best to order a few things and share. Everything was delicious though! The only downside is that the seating is limited so the wait can be long. They did try to make the wait more pleasant by bringing out some food samples to munch on. I thought that was a nice touch."

  • "We met some old friends at Stone's Cove upon a recommendation from a family member. It was a really novel dining experience. Our bar keep/waitress was very attentive. The food was excellent. The wine was priced high, but that is to be expected I guess. We were told about 1/2 price wine night on Wednesdays. We had a great time and reconnected with old friends. The noise level allowed for easy conversation. We will definately return to Stone's Cove."

  • "This was my second time to this new restaurant and I have to say that the food has been very good both times, but the prices are a little steep. My husband and I split the lobster cones and meatloaf cupcakes (both delicious) and he had the Rueben flatbread (which is a winter special), while I tried a pasta dish. I was warned that the pasta dish was very small and it was, but with the two split appetizers, I left the restaurant without feeling hungry. I had a specialty cocktail and my husband had two drinks and the bill was $75 before tip."

  • "Good food. Yummy flatbreads and hot & cold dip. Buffalo chicken was a bit too spicy. Cuban was delicious. Not kid or handicap friendly; they have one low table. Most tables are around the bar. There are some group tables but not many. This isn't really a place for groups. More of a date spot I think. Fairly good service. The waiters/chefs/bartenders all share jobs so you either have a lot of staff checking on you or not. It's a chain restaurant but a good find."

  • "Our party of 4 enjoyed our dinner- great service and delicious variety of apps and meals. Love the sluders, tuna, and shrimp & grits. The only disappointment was the mixed drinks - too sweet and weak."

  • "My husband and I like to try new things so Stone's Cove is great for us! Lots of small plates and items to be shared. The portions are generous so "be careful" not to over order since everything was worthy of a try. We have been here before but they now take reservations which is helpful, and the seating is "kitchen style" meaning most dining is around the cooking area and you very likely will be seated next to other diners. However, it is always fun to speak to our neighbors with this format. We had a crab salad, meatball cupcakes (not cake but mashed potatoes), duck sliders and an amazing flatbread. There are many other items notable at this little gem."

  • "I have been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened, my husband, no so much! I finally talked him into going and trying it, and we will be back. We both thought the food was extremely tasty, perfect portions, especially if you wish to taste a few and share and the prices seemed pretty resonable for the portions. The service was very good and it was interesting sitting there watching everyone work together. We will be back soon!"
