  • "The food is always amazing and we get excited trying new things at Stonegrill because every item we get is awesome. Our server was not very friendly though and there were way too many kids there which is understandable because it being a summer resort but it was distracting and loud which is not something we wanted for our anniversary dinner."

  • "Food was a bit overpriced for quality. Main dish was good but the sides were not great."

  • "I say surprisingly because it's at a hotel - a nice one really, but man the food was great! Jalapeno poppers, calamari, braised short ribs - on the spot guac...awesome food..."

  • "It was great! We had an awesome server and she knew a lot about the dishes they had to offer. Also, the drink choices were wonderful!"

  • "We had a nice family dinner outside in the courtyard. The setting is beautiful. The staff was very attentive. The food overall was very good. I would highly recommend it. "

  • "We were seated at a high top table and the chairs were horrible!!! The back of the chair was way too short ( I'm only 5'3") and I couldn't push my chair in without my husband!!! Our server was not really attentive, pleasant but gone a lot. There was a gentleman to give you water and a manager (?) came over to bring us coffee. We both ordered burgers, mine well done and my husbands med well. He thought his was fine. Mine was literally a charred hockey puck! Well do e doesn't mean burnt, it means no pink!!!!! Had apple pie for dessert and that was ok. It was a really slow night so perhaps they weren't on their toes??!! All I know is the chair and my burger was horrible! The burgers had NO seasoning, French fries were good! "

  • "After at least a 20 minute wait we had to flag a waiter for service. Not good for such a huge brand name in the hospitality business. Will probably not retun."

  • "Waiter William was very attentive and made very good recommendations. The Short rib and salmon dishes were delicious!"

  • "I had breakfast here last week with customers to leave the larger crowd at a conference in the hotel. Great food, great service but as the place filled up the noise level rose as well. I had a hard time hearing the discussion! They remodeled last year and did a great job- very beautiful, but too much stone and hard surface for noise to bounce off of!"

  • "Casual dining. I had the short rib and my husband, soup and salad. All were very good. The outdoor seating area overlooked the lawn area where kids ran around, threw balls, and did cartwheels. It is a good place to eat or have a drink, while letting the kids wear themselves out. It is located in JW Marriott, so it isn't cheap."

  • "Sunday brunch with the outdoor dining is the best around! Delicious food and the beautiful grounds make it a great place to bring out of town guests."

  • "Located in a JW Marriott, we went to Stonegrill three times for dinner when we were staying at the nearby Marriott Canyon Villas. My wife is gluten free so was very happy to see the notations on the menu as well as several delicious options. Her pork tamale with bean cassoulet and tomatillo sauce were so outstanding the second night that we had to go back again so I could have the tamale. Outstanding! The salads we had (Duncan Farms greens and burrata with tomatoes) were also very refreshing. The servers are friendly yet professional, and the seating outside is particularly pleasant especially if you are there in the winter and come from a cold climate place."

  • "Everything was great - food, service, ambience. We ate outside and it was so relaxing and enjoyable. Quiet music, nice breeze, kids and families playing in the grass. Our server as so pleasant, attentive, and helpful. Just great all around!"

  • "We felt it was over priced for the portion size received. Nothing stands out about our visit to make us want to return for dinner. I might give it a try for lunch."

  • "Not only did they give us the worst table in the place, it took an hour to get a salad & some enchiladas. We were seated right next to a 2 & 3 year old. Yes, there was some crying. Why, oh why must people with children take them to dining rooms. There are plenty of other food options. Can you say babysitter? If you can afford a place like this for dinner, you can afford a babysitter. Arghhh! However, it really was the service that would keep us from booking again. It was awful!"

  • "Decided to try the restaurant since it is a redo of the Blue Sage. Skirt steak portion was small with poor presentation on plate. Substituted salad for fries and so the steak was plopped on the plate with nothing else and the fries came in a side container. Poor eye appeal for the $$$ - not a good value. Salmon entrée was very good. Sat outside and had to watch everyone else's kids running around the green space - not a relaxing dinner at dusk outside. Was hoping the outdoor dining experience would be better than it was."

  • "The waitress was helpful and friendly. We sat outside and at night lights are lit up all around with nice background music. My husband had the short ribs which were the most tender I had ever tasted. The mahi mahi was tender and calamari for an appetizer was nice and crispy. We shared chocolate cake for dessert and it was delicious."

  • "We went to the Stone Grill for an early Valentines Day dinner with our 17 month old. The service was fantastic and everyone was pleasant and efficient. The food however was not worth the $100 spent. From the appetizer of lettuce wraps to the Mahi Mahi main course I was disappointed with the lack of flavor. The tomatillo hash was visually unappealing as well as bland. The wait staff certainly made the experience enjoyable and we had a very nice time despite the sub par food offering. We hope the chef corrects the issues with the menu because the resort is a beautiful place to spend an evening out."

  • "Started with wine and appetizers, the chicken flatbread. Tasty and lite. Limited wine list. Dinner was shrimp and grits. Not grits like we expected. These were flavorful and spiced up a bit. The shrimp was cooked nicely. Lettuce wraps with chicken were also good. The outside patio overlooked a large open area, beautiful. .. flowers and water features."

  • "Open Table does not allow sufficient number of characters to fully elaborate the many problems I had with this restaurant. Suffice to say: 1. Grossly overpriced valet parking 2. Inadequately trained hostess and server staff 3. Dinner menu doesn't correspond to online menu offerings. Specifically, the four taco options I'd been looking forward to have been removed from the dinner menu and are apparently only available now for lunch 4. On leaving my table briefly after dessert, I specifically asked my waiter to NOT remove the coffee with liquor. On returning, it had been cleared. The replacement coffee was without liquor. 5. On giving the waiter my valet ticket (drops $10 charge to $5 when validated), he forgot to return it until reminded."

  • "The newly designed rooms were comfy and attractive. The service was outstanding! and the food... wow.... full of southwestern flavors! The manage expanded the menu descriptions and we were delighted with our choices --- I could make a meal of the lettuce wraps! Scallops and beef tenderloin were just simply outstanding! We will be back again and again!"

  • "Decided to try this place out for a date. Service was great and the burger I ordered was cooked well enough (could have used a dash of salt and pepper but that was an easy fix). Best part was just being able to take a stroll around the resort afterwards. Made for quite a lovely evening."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a brunch for our anniversary at Stonegrill. We had never dined there before and were delighted with finding this beautiful resort so close to our home to enjoy celebrating our anniversary at. The buffet brunch was fantastic. The cook to order eggs and fresh fruit bar was delicious. Service outstanding. We had a wonderful experience at Stonegrill"

  • "Great on property restaurant at JW Marriott Desert Ridge. Excellent for families, lots of great choices to satisfy all tastes, very warm & friendly service. Highly recommend coming here if you are staying here with a family. Both dinner & breakfast buffet were excellent."

  • "We really enjoyed our brunch at Blue Sage. The staff was excellent- so friendly and helpful. We chose the breakfast buffet, which was immaculate. I was surprised at the variety of food and yummy pastries and juices they had. Definitely recommend this place based on our experience, though we have yet to order off the menu- next time!"

  • "Can't recommend this place. Went there for Valentine's day, no table clothes, lit like a diner and echos from the bare walls and tables. It's a better spot for bringing kids for breakfrast or lunch."

  • "Disappointment. Breakfast was awesome so we went back for dinner."

  • "I changed my reservation to this restaurant because of the brunch mentioned on the JW Marriott website. What a disappointment! This was a special occasion to celebrate Christmas with my father after we had attended church on Sunday morning. I was very embarrassed that the Brunch environment felt like we were at a free breakfast at a Days Inn. The room was noisy, kids running around, handling the food. I asked to be moved to the back room which seemed to be more secluded, but was told this was for a private party, despite the fact that the private party was leaving. Don't come here if you are looking for a nice brunch at what is otherwise a sophisticated resort!"

  • "We went for Thanksgiving brunch - so perhaps not getting the true reflection. The buffet was just OK not spectacular and the service was not great either. Good if you have kids though as there were many playing on the lawn right beside our table!"

  • "Enjoyed our Sunday brunch, beautiful resort and the service was wonderful especially since we were a large group! The staff did a great job in making us feel welcomed and even brought us special blueberry pancakes that were delicious."

  • "A beautiful setting outside, the food is great! I had the chickenpot pie and not only it good tasting, but it was huge. The waiter was very nice in that at the end of the meal he gave me a cup of coffee for free. This way I could sit and listen to the girl singer at the entertainment bar outside. This was at the beautiful JW Marriott Hotel in Phoenix."

  • "We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Our server called us by name the entire meal. I love that! There was a nice variety of breakfast foods from fruit, eggs, sides, cereal and all sorts of breads! They even have Gluten Free! The coffee was fresh and hot! I hope to go back the next time I am in AZ!"

  • "The hotel is gorgeous as you walk in, but the restaurant looks cheap and not suitable for a 5 star resort. Service was ok, not Marriott standards service, by no means. We saw one of the servers asking a guest many times to remove her luggage, so he could clean around her. He actually moved one of her tables so he could clean the floor. In a 5 star hotel that doesn't happen. The hostess sat a table right behind us and it was so tight. One of the guests was on a wheelchair and she got no help, but not only that, we could hardly move when they all sat down. Most tables in the restaurant were empty. I chose this resort as it was my birthday and I wanted to celebrate in a nice place, but I was disappointed as I always expect more from Marri"

  • "Salads are terrible-no creativity and ingredients could have come out of your local Safeway. I do NOT recommend; typical, bland hotel food."

  • "Given the local I was highly disappointed in the quality of food served during the Sunday brunch buffet. Maybe we should have ordered off the menu. Had dinner at Roys at the same hotel that night, as with all Roy's food and service always excellent."
