Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I got married at Stone House and knew that we wanted to go back to celebrate our anniversary. We already knew we loved the food from our wedding and we loved the service as well. Our dinner to celebrate our anniversary was perfect! The wait staff and the food and setting were just as wonderful as we remembered from our wedding and we are anxiously awaiting our next anniversary to go back! The food was magnificent, the live music added a nice touch to the environment, and the overall experience was perfect. Stone House is by far our favorite restaurant."

  • "My husband and I and another couple were very disappointed with the food and service. Our friend ordered oysters and the first one he tried was spoiled. Our dinner was mediocre and expensive. The skirt steak was not prepared correctly, the potatoes were not hot."

  • "Skimpy plate of calamari ( about 12). Muscles weren't fresh. Four didn't taste right so I didn't eat them, four the shells never opened. Entrees were nothing to write home about."

  • "I can see why this place hosts weddings- its a beautiful location and the decor is very well done. The food was great- there wasnt a single plate I could complain about. Loved the wild board baby back ribs and the angry mussels!! My only complaint was the AC was way too high, and the bread guy was totally flakey- no pun intended. We had to flag him down JUST to get some bread. And then when they ran out of a certain kind, I told him I could wait for the next loaf to come out and he basically ignored me for the rest of the evening. It wasn't until AFTER dinner I asked him SO..... is the italian bread DONE? and THATS when he offered me more bread. Thanks. I don't need it for dessert. He was not on top of his game."

  • "Stone House has become our destination each year for our anniversary and Valentine's dinners. It never disappoints, and this time was no exception!"

  • "Words cannot express how wonderful our meal was at the stone house. Excellent service and food! The chef sent over a complementary salad and we received a parting gift of cookies as we left. I almost felt like I was vacationing on an island when sitting outside. Will be back!"

  • "One of the most beautiful restaurants ever. Stone, glass, wood, gardens, views, fire pits and floating bars. Awesome! And the menu!. Words like artisanal and free-range and local and home-grown. Even sushi! But we have the same reaction every time we go, "how sad that the food and service don't measure up to the look". My wife ordered the butternut squash soup which was great, and filet mignon which was overcooked and tasteless. I had steamers in a very rich broth that may have just been too rich for my taste. Service was lacking with things like bread service arriving after the entrees. And a very tardy check-back by the waiter. We did sit outside on the deck and it was beautiful. I am so hoping they will eventually get it right."

  • "I usually frequent this restaurant for special occasions but also enjoy now and then just because it's so fabulous. The professionalism of the host and wait staff is consistent as is the presentation and quality of the food."

  • "We have been here before & thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant. In fact it had been one of my favorite restaurants and I have introduced many friends to this place. This time though the service was really poor. No crudités or bread were ever served and my friend's salad never arrived. Our waiter seemed to be in lala land. The entrees were delicious but the lack of service and extended waiting for our drinks and food has taken away my enthusiasm for this restaurant."

  • "Sitting outside is the best! Great place to go with friends or just a couple. Live music. You feel like you're in Napa. I love that they grow their own produce too."

  • "Off the beaten path for a business dinner. I brought 2 out-of-town colleagues for dinner so they could experience somewhere new after dining at most of the restaurants in the Bridgewater / bedminster area already. They were impressed with the atmosphere and they raved about the food. The only downside was the volume of the band in proximity to our outdoor dining. A little loud for business dinner. Will definitely be back!"

  • "We sat on the balcony overlooking the patio on a perfect night to eat outdoors. The décor is beautiful with wonderful lighting and stonework. The food, however, is just mediocre. There was a live band that we enjoyed and they gave us a bag of cookies when we left. So it was a bit of a mixed bag."

  • "Food was pricey and just ok. Service was poor. Waiters tarted out good and then half-way through the meal would not return. Super long wait for food when it was not even crowded. Atmosphere border on chain restaurant banquet cheesy."

  • " we were recommended to try this restaurant to celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary. We were very satisfied with our choice. The service was very attentive with the nice touch of having happy 59th anniversary printed on the top of our menu. The food was tasty though the hanger steak was a little chewy. The 16 ounce T-bone was excellent. we were treated to 2 glasses of champagne on the house which was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "This place never gets better, if you sit and watch this place run you would think you are eating at a diner. Staff running in all directions overlapping tables not knowing what the other is doing this place is completely out of control. All the while believing the employees are are actually providing a quality dining experience. The managers of this place should be fired along with more than half its staff. We planned on a wedding here but after giving the place more than three chances we are not going to risk a $40,000.00 investment. The food is still not bad, so if you want to eat in a nice out of control environment, the show begins each night at 7PM."

  • "This was my 2nd visit to the Stone House, the 1st being a few years ago with a group of friends. 2 of us went. We sat out on the deck attached to the main building. The deck is very nice, with a high view of the outside bar and tables. Very pretty Great ambience BUT the wooden chairs were SO uncomfortable. We told our waiter & he had pads brought out which made a big difference in comfort. The waiter was wonderful. Great suggestions, friendly, fun personality. Even the bus boy did a wonderful job. Really enjoyed the food. I had the pork t-bone which was so delicious, especially the mashed white sweet potatoes. My friend had the Bronzini special-said it very good but not amazing. Ahhh, and the mixed drinks. They were delicious! I"

  • "Took hubby and my 2 kids there for father's day brunch, food is good , nothing extraordinary. The waitress told us that they play live music on the outside sitting area on weekends starting at 6pm so we want to go back to check that out PS: you can make your own s'mores!!!"

  • "A party of three, we dined late into the brunch hour. When we arrived the restaurant was nearly deserted. There was a jazz trio playing but they ended and packed up soon after we were sat. Given that it was a lovely day, we would have done better to eat outdoors than inside. The outdoor and insides decor are inviting. We ordered separate entrees. One choice was later found to be sold out. The waiter was not sure of the menu which is not a good thing - perhaps he was new. When the food came the rare entree was given to the wrong diner. The food was not remarkable. We will dine again at the dinner hour to see how the restaurant functions at its peak before judging whether to recommend to others."

  • "Went for Father's Day, had a fantastic steak outside...with a great acoustic band (a little loud for the space... But I enjoyed them)."

  • "It's an absolute shame that this restaurant doesnt pull it together in the kitchen. the outdoor area is beautiful and the inside has a greta warm feel to it. The food was terrible. It took forever to get served drinks and bread, the ceasar type salad was so bitey you couldn't even eat it. The pizza was decent, but all of the other dishes were lackluster. I will not be going back here for dinner any time soon."

  • "The atmosphere at Stonehouse trumps all. Great outdoor dining spot when weather is good. Solid food. Solid menu. However, the menu should be updated. I don't think its changed in a while. Service has slipped tremendously over time as well. New management ?? Had to ask for things twice too many times. Bar scene was non-existent. I hope Stonehouse is not falling apart."

  • "We have been to the Stone House many times but this was the first time we had the opportunity to sit outside in the porch area. As usual the food, wine, ambiance and service were top drawer, however the comfort of the seats was deplorable. It was like there was a piece missing on the seat and when we asked the server she advised it was a common complaint. The entire dinner you could not wait to get up, not the experience you are looking for when celebrating your anniversary. Maybe that is the plan to move people along but it made for a VERY uncomfortable dining experience since you felt like you were falling off of the chair the entire night. I would go back but sadly not for outdoor dining."

  • "The renovations that took place at this location over the last several years has changed it into a fine dining restaurant with attentive staff and delicious meals. Aside from the limited parking and 2week advance reservation request the place is great for a date night, or a special occasion. Outdoor seating is plentiful for warm weather days."

  • "I found the restaurant to be over priced for the quality of the food. Because they are also a catering facility, the valet service is long and confusing. They first tried to seat us outside, the table was uneven and in direct sunlight so we asked to move inside. The food was just average for the price . I would not return to this resturant or recommend to anyone. For a high end resturant, I felt the staff was just ok, they all hung around the front desk area talking. Also, felt the music was too loud in the dinning area."

  • "We went to Stone House for a 50th birthday party, in early March, with 15 ladies and were able to use the enclosed upper room. The food and service were outstanding and we had a wonderful experience. I was intrigued by the outside space that was closed at the time, so we came back on a lovely Saturday night in June with 2 couples. We ate inside and enjoyed every dish, sushi appetizer, asparagus salad, swordfish, scampi, flat iron steak and trout. We had an after dinner drink at the outside bar and enjoyed the wonderful ambience and drinks. The smore's table looked like lots of fun and we are trying to plan an event to use the "floating appetizer" table. The food and the whole atmosphere were #1. Next time brunch! "

  • "Stone House came through. A simple request in my online reservation, "outside table for a romantic 24 yr wedding anniversary", was followed. We were too stuffed after dinner for desert but, our great server Jeremy provided champagne for an anniversary toast. "

  • "I picked Stone House for my friend's birthday and it was a huge let down. From the moment we walked in, there were issues. We requested to sit outside, and we're sat inside instead. After one person declined bread, the gentleman walked away without serving everyone else. Appetizers were good, but the ravioli needed another few minutes of boiling (they were crunchy!). One of our steaks was very undercooked, and it took another 25 minutes to get a new steak, which was then so over cooked it was almost not edible. A glass of wine we ordered at the beginning of dinner didn't come until our plates were cleared. All of our entrees were very under seasoned. We all had to add a significant amount of salt/hot sauce to have any flavor! So upsetting!"

  • "Food was overpriced for quality. Steak was over cooked but side dishes were pretty good. Meals were served at different times to people in our party. Great atmosphere - loved the outdoor space!"

  • "My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Stone House. Nice ambiance. They printed our menu with "Happy 9th Anniversary" at the top, which was a nice touch. However, our server took our drink orders then quickly forgot about us until we were finally able to track him down (over ten minutes later) and remind him. He brought our appetizer but quickly removed it from the table before we could get our forks into it, saying it was meant for another table. Not the case - it quickly returned to us. Despite a nice presentation, the entree and dessert were very mediocre in taste/flavor. If this was a chain restaurant, it would have been fine. However, at this price point, you expect a lot more in food and service quality. "

  • "The Stone House was a disappointment. The grounds and outdoor elements are exquisite, leading to an expectation of fabulous meal. The service was polite but amateurish; and the food was "ok" and overpriced. To spend just under $200 for dinner for two, which included a hamburger as one of the entrees, and a rather inexpensive bottle of wine, is nonsensical. IMO, the StoneHouse is ideal for an outdoor evening with a few drinks and maybe an appeteizer, but otherwise I would not recommend it; very disapointing!"

  • "Ambience is wonderful. Wine list is great. Food is good, not great. Brick oven pizza is nice if you can wait an hour and a half for an entree. All things considered, I'll still go back. "

  • "Party of 9 arrived for 5:30 PM celebration. The decor is attractive and outside dining scenic. Food is good and comparably priced for the area. The service is the spotty when dining outside. Waiting for more bread that is served a slice at a time is frustrating. I had to go into the hostess area to remind them to send the waiter to take our order. Menu had our daughter's name and congratulatory message at the top (nice touch). I was the unfortunate person who was served my appetizer, entree and coffee late for each course. Everyone else was dining (I asked them to start) while I waited quite a while before my food arrived. By the time my cappuccino arrived, it was cold with flat froth. Left at 8:30 PM. Good for appetizers, drinks and view."

  • "My wife and I had dinner here to celebrate her birthday,. The noise level was quite high probably because there is no carpeting and the ceilings are very high. That's OK because it fit the decor. The problem was there was a drunk man with his two adult offspring sitting 30 feet from us and he was extremely loud, used foul language and kept saying, "Sorry for being so loud." He ruined our meal. Additionally, I had ti ask another waiter twice to find our waiter since he disappeared for long periods of time. We each had plates for bread, but no bread ever appeared. At least they didn't have to wash two dishes. The food was only ok. The entrees and dessert were unimaginative. I doubt they will see me again."

  • "Very upscale but you really do get what you pay for here (figure $50+ per person for Dinner). Environment could not be better. Large and spacious but good use of that space makes it feel smaller. There was a Wedding in progress while we were there but you would not know it! Dinner this time out but can't wait to try this place for Brunch and also just for evening drinks. It is really hard to find something to improve on here."

  • "Our second visit proves the first one was spot on! We shared a special salad with goat cheese and arugula to start. Dinners were 2 orders of the runs, chicken Milanese , and a special of swordfish. All were excellent. A ricotta cheese cake split 4 ways was enough to give our taste buds a small sweet, the cake was light enough to not overburden our already full tummies. The nicest touch is to send you home with a small bag of freshly baked cookies .. Wow!"
