The food is wonderful and the service was excellent. We sat (both times) upstairs at the table by the corner window and had the same waiter both times. He is great. Good wine, Filet was melt in your mouth. Surf and turf was good but not great. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Service was good although server did not know the "wine of the day" and could not explain why it was the wine of the day. We had made a reservation and got there a little early so had a drink in the bar. They had a good variety of beer and wine and the bartenders were very knowledgable on both. When we were seated we got a great booth in a fairly quiet area (which I had requested). Although there was a large private party upstairs and several prom parties having dinner, it really was not loud at all and we could easily have a great conversation. The server was awesome, she had a fun personality and knew the menu back and forth. She made great recommendations for wine and dinner. However he told us the soup of the day was one thing and it was another. He brought us the real soup of the day which was too spicey and was glad to repace that with another,french onion,and it was very good! He said he would bring butter for the bread but forgot it. The decor, wine list, and menu are a step above most of what is around this area. I dine there regularly and am never disappointed. For this trip, my girlfriends and I sat in the bar so we could watch the NCAA games while we enjoyed our dinner. This is far from a sports bar but it was the best of both worlds in my opinion. Upscale dining and I still could see the score of the Butler game!
I had my favorite, the steak medallions, and they were perfectly cooked and came with a grilled portabella mushroom cap and garlic mashed potatoes. The entire dish was seasoned perfectly. We were seated for our reservation promptly. Service was attentive. We ordered wine and cocktails as well as a couple appetizers, all were served quickly. I ordered a 6 oz filet that was really good. The restaurant was very busy but the staff did a good job.
