  • "Was delightfully surprised at how nice this place was."

  • "Great lunch on Sat! Peaceful, scenic the whole deal. I hosted some friends, just great all around."

  • "This place has amazing potential. The setting is amazing, the building is beautiful. The grounds could be spectacular. It's the little things, staff wears black but not uniforms. Extra chairs stacked near the dining area.. The food was great, for the price the little things should be taken care of. With that said, I'll go back. Great place..."

  • "Stone Cliff offers delicious dining options, the view is beautiful, food presentation is excellent. Perfect for a special occasion, or just to enjoy a lovely dinner in a rustic setting. The service is attentive, friendly, and eager to please."

  • "Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views, good food and great service is what we found when we visited Stone Cliff Inn for Sunday brunch. We loved that it's not far from the city, but feels like you are miles away! Can't wait to share this treasure with family & friends!"

  • "We've eaten here on numerous occasions, and have never been disappointed. The great experience starts from the time you drive into the parking lot surrounded by trees, birds and river view. Always greeted by friendly faces at the door, and the food has never disappointed us. Prices are very reasonable. Weather permitting, eating outside is always enjoyable. We will continue to surprise out-of-town guest, and local friends to the wonderful eating experience at the Stone Cliff Inn. Thank you."

  • "When we first arrived, we asked to sit outside by the railing and were told they were not using those tables because they expected rain (which did not happen while we were there). I was quite surprised. Isn't the customer always right? Why would any establishment say "no" to a customer? Our server (Jenna I think) was great! The food is excellent, but overpriced."

  • "So friends and I went there for brunch and found that they only had 4 items on the menu for brunch on Sunday. I guess according to the waitress, they have not done well for brunch so this is the new menu. Pretty disappointed in that. this is such a great location for all meals but always have a hard time with service and limited menu."

  • "Loved the scenic setting out on the hill above the Carver Bridge! If the weather is good, get a seat out on the deck which looks down on the Clackamas River...just gorgeous (but the road traffic can get a little loud at times)! Food is good...we had the hazelnut chicken salad, a sirloin steak and the chicken fettuccini alfredo. The steak was pretty good although not quite warm enough. And the fettuccini was marginal as the noodles sat in a too thin alfredo sauce that didn't have a lot of flavor (so we wouldn't order that again). But we will definitely be back for the view and ambience! Service was great and the coffee was really good, too!"

  • "We had a fantastic meal and the setting couldn't have been better with the Clackamas River right below. It didn't hurt that it was a gorgeous evening and we could sit outside with a table overlooking the river. We will definitely return!"

  • "There were 6 of us ladies who met at Stone Cliff for wine and dinner. We all ordered something different & all meals were delicious! The staff, the food and wine all made for a fun, relaxing evening. We will be back!"

  • "The food was EXCELLENT as usual and the service was surprisingly fast this time. I've been there for dinner and service was slow. Lunch/Brunch service is pretty fast."

  • "It was our first experience at this restaurant and we were very pleased. Would probably try to time our next visit on a weeknight for dinner or weekday for a late lunch. The restaurant was bustling on a Friday night just before Father's day and it was quite noisy which made it impossible to have a nice quiet conversation. The weather had been a little drizzly so unfortunately the outdoor dining was not available. The food was really good, the wait staff & hostess were very friendly & attentive but not overly so. Definitely enjoyable and we will be visiting again soon!"

  • "The food was very good the view was spectacular. This was a gift lunch for someone's birthday and from the reaction from her that she thought it was the best birthday lunch she had ever had, the visit to Stone Cliff was a huge success. The kitchen made an error on one order in that sweet potato fries were order and regular fries came with the sandwich. I noticed this happened at the table next to us also. Servers were very good at correcting the mistake and prompt at getting items requested from guest."

  • "I like the new option for Saturday you location is a great place I bring out of town guests"

  • "Service was very good, reservation timely. Had meatloaf first time; meat quality was low and taste was less than expected. Alfredo sauce was flooded with butter/oil and no parmesan or fresh ground pepper. Salmon cake was too strong fish taste. Lastly, the fried oysters were off flavor and found a piece of STEEL SCRUB PAD in one. Waiter quickly removed the plate and charge. All in all, experience was less than expected based on 6 previous visits."

  • "A group of us met here for dinner & happened to luck out on a day with perfect weather, which made for a great opportunity to eat on the patio overlooking the river. The food & drinks are a little spendy here, but everything tasted great & the service was excellent. We all had a terrific time & will be coming back in the near future!"

  • "We went for brunch and chose to sit outside. Not Stone Cliff's fault, but the noise from the river and the road down below was loud and intrusive. The food was decent, but the service excellent."

  • "Stone Cliff service and our waitress was great. Our small group of four had a nice Breakfast. The Birthday guy loved his crab benedict, good food, except those potatoes, kind of reminded me of fake potatoes. Everything else yummy. "

  • "This was a return visit after not having been to Stone Cliff Inn for about two years (a couple of bad experiences) and we were pleasantly surprised. Such a lovely spot! I am so glad that they have there menu and service back on track. The food was excellent (you have to have the smoked salmon appetizer), nice wine list and our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. We sat out on the lower patio on a high top table. The view, wine and food made it a great place to unwind on a Friday night. "

  • "This is our favorite place to take out of town guests or for a special occasion meal. We like to go for an early dinner while it is still uncrowded and we can usually get a window table. The view is breath taking and once a bald eagle flew by. I have been here for several lunches and a couple of dinners. Wait staff have always been excellent. Wonderful Oregon hospitality. "

  • "Great lunch for a family birthday celebration. Very attentive wait staff!"

  • "The food was extremely good as were the desserts. The price was on par with some of the trendier places in Portland, so going back will need to be a special occasion, it is not a place I can regularly afford to visit."

  • "I've been here several times and took my boyfriend for his first visit. We ordered the full rack of ribs to share. I could see right away that they were overdone and dry. They had slathered them in bbq sauce to cover it up, but just cutting through them and trying to eat them was like jerky. I complained to the server, who brought to the attention of the manager. They offered me something else, but at this point, I was fairly disapointed and not interested. My bf was hungry enough and manned his way through the ribs, but frankly did not enjoy them. The fries were cold as well when the meal came. The manager did comp the price of the full dinner and that was great, but I would have more enjoyed a satisfying meal."

  • "I have visited Stone Cliff a few times in the past with mixed results. However on 5/24/14 everything came together and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Probably the service has been the wild card in previous visits but this time it was excellent. Everything was on time and accurate even though the restaurant was very busy. In addition the food was delicious. No complaints with the signature bacon wrapped meat loaf or the rib eye. Both were cooked to perfection. Only the salmon chowder (flavorless) keeps this night from being "perfect". "

  • "This was my second time at stone cliff. The first was aspur of the moment dinner for two . The place was busy we had no reservation ,but were seated right away . I would have liked to sit by a window on the overlook side or upstairs might be fun . I asked about those seats and was told about the online reservations , but was told large parties would not get a window . We made a reservation on my moms b-day for 5 online it was easy. The food great service great a little expensive , but will still come back . Still would like to dine on the deck when it gets warmer or up stairs . Would highly recommend reservations."

  • "We've celebrated the last two anniversaries at Stone Cliff Inn. It is always satisfying and the view is fantastic especially in the spring. I always recommend this restaurant to those wanting good food and atmosphere."

  • "The food was excellent, except the garlic potatoes were on the cool side. If I were braver I would have asked for you to warm the potatoes for me. "

  • "The atmosphere was wonderful, service was excellent and the food was perfect! We haven't been to Stone Cliff for a couple of years. It was better than what I remember."

  • "I feel lucky to live near enough that I can visit the Stone Cliff often. It is a great place to bring out-of-town guests and Portlanders who have never been here. The view is outstanding. The food is very good quality with a variety of options. Plus scenes from "Twilight" were filmed here, and you can see why. The stone cliff looks like a movie set."

  • "I have taken friends and family to Stone Cliff Inn for special occasions as well as just because. I know the food and staff will be doing their best every time. The Sunday Brunch is out of this world and their dinner choices are as well."

  • "The Cioppino and Ahi were fantastic. Our Server Michael was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list and was Top Notch."

  • "Food was good, service friendly, and scenery was magnificent. My Mapquest instructions led me astray so we were quite late for our reservation. Not easy to find but worth the effort."

  • "All employees, even the ones we did not see, took ownership. In my opinion, because the employees cared for us as if they were the owners, we enjoyed good food, served with pride. Although the dollar cost was Oregon moderate, the value outpaced the VISA bill. I had a well-aged bourbon glazed steak which was tender and flavorful. My wife had the seafood chowder which needed something, and was not remarkable. The two adult children had the rack of ribs and the chicken, and both were pleased. The wedge lettuce salads my wife and I ordered are remarkable, and we both recommend them. Get the salmon platter appetizer - good size and all portions of the appetizer were very carefully prepared, attactively presented and delicious! "

  • "The service was good, view is good, but food was average at best. I had rack of ribs which was dry and overcooked. "

  • "I'd been to the Stone Cliff Inn a few times, but had forgotten how delighful it really is - Log-cabin comfort & excellently prepared Pacific NW cuisine, but poor service. Great location, hidden up the hill on the way to Carver from OC, the restaurant overlooks the river with both indoor & outdoor seating. There is a small bar and dining on the 1st and 2nd floor. Great for a romantic dinner, family night or just solo. The food is excellent, meals come with a vegetable & a starch, or so our waiter informed us. My husband had a filet mignon w/ garlic mashed potatoes & salad . I chose the cedar planked salmon & substituted the salmon chowder (highly recommend both). Service was weird, like it was the waiter's 1st day and he wasn't interested."
