Diner Reviews
  • "Haven't been back here in years, definitely now is a hot spot in Escondido. Even with reservations we stilln sat at the bar an additional 15 minutes to wait ti be seated. Beer was great food was good. Outdoor seating at night here is great."

  • "Notable and not-so-notable food items...but, the beer and environment is worth the trip."

  • "Our party of 5 had a great meal in a beautiful garden setting. Lots of kids running around but the place was big enough that it didn't get annoying. Our server, Gabe, was friendly and knowledgeable. Our group's only misgiving about the bistro was that the beer menu did not include any descriptions - the server would have to spend an hour describing them and it would be much easier to select from beers one has never heard of if they were described on the menu. Also, the lack of flights on the bistro menu (maybe they're available at the bar?) was a downer. The food is very good but we drove a half hour to Escondido for the beer and not being able to order beer flights with our meal was a negative. Otherwise, a great experience."

  • "I love this place, it was my first time and it did not disappoint. I look forward to going again and again."

  • "I have heard about this place for a very long time and decided it was finally time to come here. We really enjoyed the whole experience, service, food, beer and the ambiance. The only reason why I rated it a 4 and not a 5 is because I ordered the brisket which should be soft and moist but was not. The top layers of the order was AMAZING but as you got to the bottom parts the meat was tough and you couldn't even cut into it."

  • "Visiting relatives in Southern California afforded us many opportunities for places to go. Stone brewery was one of my favorite finds! The food was excellent, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was very fun for people of all ages. The beer selections were practically endless! Don't pass up a chance if you're in the area."

  • "Great place to kick back and relax. Awesome beers and good food. I had the Brisket over a bed of mashed sweet potatoes with garden greens and it was delicious. Service was good , no complaints."

  • "A great spot for lunch on our way to nearby casino for a mini vacation-we will definitely return"

  • "Menu was interesting but lots of spicy items and everything with chips. Asked for a table out of traffic areas and inside ended up at the open window/door with ten toddlers and infants within 10 feet of the table. Asked to move to a quiet spot. They cater to groups and beer lovers (it is a brewery) no problem with that. But please read the reservation info! Great waitress."

  • "Went on Sunday "morning" specifically for the brunch menu... was told they did away with it about 6 weeks ago. Really disappionting. Other than that, food and service were good and it was surprisingly easy to get a table on the patio at 12:00PM on a Sunday. I had the kale caesar salad and added the salmon - it was a HUGE (and yummy!) portion. Highly recommend. My friend had the arugala salad and copied me, adding the salmon - she seemed to enjoy hers as well. Oh! One more thing... I miss the "Enjoy By IPA" as well... haven't had it the last four or five times I've been in. :/"

  • "This is a must go-to place for any time. The gardens are beautiful with plants and cool rocks. Great place to be outdoors with friends. Loved trying the different beers and the waiters know their products. That's a ++ Got to go back and try more of their organic menu. (Brussel sprouts are out of this world delicious.)"

  • "Love this place and made a reservation thru Open Table for a Thursday night. I thought by making the res I would be able to sit on the outdoor patio, but no such luck. That was our only disappointment...everything else was fantastic."

  • "They loved it! We sat outside in the garden area and had drinks and our meals. It was their first time to Stone Brewing World Bistro, so we all ordered different things. Everything was stellar except the service was seemingly slower than usual. Regardless, we had a great time!"

  • "Two misses in service soured my experience. First was a significant delay (>20 min) waiting for third of the 3 appetizers we ordered. The delayed item was so late that the server assumed that we had already eaten it. Second was the tepid (cool) temperature of the chili that I ordered as my main. My dining partner's main course arrived hot and he was happy with his choice. My main was in a metal pan sitting on a napkin sitting on a plate which would indicate that the metal pan was hot. When I took my first bite I discovered that the chili was in fact room temperature. Having no idea how long it had been sitting around I sent it back and said that I didn't want it back. I guess I just had a bad night."

  • "I am new to the area and one of my friends insisted that I dine here. So after settling in, a friend and I made reservations for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were seated immediately, and once seated, I made my observations. I was pleased with the atmosphere and the ambience, as well as the staff. Our server was courteous, humorous, and patiently answered all questions. The food was scrumptious! We ordered Tilapia Ceviche, the arrogant Brisket and the pulled chicken and wild boar sandwich. For dessert we had the brownie sundae and the blue cheese jalapeño cheesecake. I definitely plan to return!"

  • "Totally recommended for the beer, but not really for the food. Although it seemed fresh and overall interesting, for the offered price I expected a much better taste, a larger size and a better combination of sides. Also, most things were too spicy."

  • "Love the ambiance, organic and unique dishes, and the great beers. Have visited both the Liberty Station and Escondido locations, both are wonderful."

  • "I'm not much of a beer girl, so I was surprised to see their lovely list of some of my favorite wines on their menu. The food is to die for; everything on their menu tastes like heaven. Oh, and you can't beat the $3 brewery tour! Our tour guide was not only knowledgeable, but funny too! Great place to go on a date, with a group of friends, etc."

  • "Our first time at Stone had some challenges. The payment systems were down so it took a while to order. Our server however handled everything with charm and style and they even comp'd us our beers even though we just rolled with it. So nice! Food was delicious. Choices for vegetarians. Loved the ambiance and the beer! Would totally go back!!"

  • "Please make a reservation. Arrive early; grab glass of beer and stroll through the gardens. Enjoy your beverage sitting in the shade of one of the many trees. Then check in with an always friendly hostess. Your choice to sit inside or out. Menu is creative and varied. You will find something you like. Table service is always perfect. If time allows, take the tour of the brewery; it's well worth it."

  • "Had a great server who made wonderful beer recommendations. The Tri tip was amazing and the horseradish raspberry sauce was amazing. Kids loved their meals (as usual) all three hadsomething different - Mac n cheese, burrito and pasta . Love that they have good options . Hubby had the tuna melt and thought it was great."

  • "I came here with my in-laws. We weren't seated until 30 min after our reservation time (which was 8:15pm). We all had a long drive home so the delay was not appreciated. Once seated, we had a lovely patio seat and the food and beer was great as usual. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen though. I'm just not sure what the hold up was when multiple tables were empty at our reservation time."

  • "However you can arrange it you HAVE to get to Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido, CA. Beyond their stellar, world-class beer selections (including many special brews you won't find anywhere else) their kitchen's dedication to locally-sourced, organic ingredients results in fabulously creative and fantastically delicious dining. Then there's the Garden! Mind-blowing landscaping that absolutely does justice to the name Stone (you'll see what that means). Not to mention the stunning architecture of this beer geek's temple. I can't say enough about one of my very favorite places to visit when I'm in San Diego!"

  • "We made a reservation based on a recommendation and were not disappointed. We were quickly seating with our reservation and received prompt service. The food was good and fresh, the beer was the highlight of the lunch. Next time we would order the pretzels with no or light salt. The outside seating was very calming."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "The landscaping is lovely, but was too crowded to enjoy. I had the salmon which did not come with the vegetables listed on the menu. My poor date paid $24 for a small piece of salmon with wilted cabbage. Bread with dinner should always be complementary. Disappointing."

  • "The restaurant itself is nice. Pleasant decor and garden area. Food is overpriced and nothing special. I expected more and was sadly disappointed. Would not recommend."

  • "Food is unique but lacks depth. I found it to be specifically made to compliment the beers on tap. Great beers! Awesome setting. Take guests for a special adventure in the middle of the day or apps and beer tasting. Dinner spots you could do better."

  • "I really enjoyed the food. Bison Chop, Duck Tacos and Ceviche."

  • "We had a little bit of a wait, but we were able to sit in the little park area with the kids, and it was pretty relaxing. The food was great, and of course the beer list was impressive."

  • "Even if you aren't into great beer, the food at Stone Bistro is great. The quail was a good spicy level, the brisket was cooked well and the soup was outstanding."

  • "Stone has transformed a hillside in an industrial area into a perfect beer and dining experience. The garden is wonderful and the menu has improved. I've made this a destination for lunch or dinner many times with family and friends. Take a tour and see behind the scenes!"

  • "The service and food were amazing! The waitstaff were super friendly and patient when it came to ordering drinks. They also recommended great samples and came back to make sure we enjoyed everything! The food was unique but very tasty! Try the fried olives/almonds and the duck tacos! They were to die for! A must dine experience! You won't be disappointed!!!!"
