The food is rich, filling, and usually delicious. The outdoor seating and wandering areas are beautiful and wonderful for groups of any size.
The main difference from time to time is the service. I have experienced many times where the waiters seem overwhelmed, short for time, and unwilling to check-in and make sure your time is enjoyable. However, everytime I have arrived for a reservation between 5-6:30pm, the service is much better. The restaurant is not overpacked and the waiters take the time to connect, make reccomendations, and give you their attention. We were taken to our table immediately upon arrival (in fact, we were there about 5 minutes early) and seated outside. Our server introduced himself right away and took drink orders. What I would like to see improved:
1. Only one walk up self serve station at the lower bar with one server. Although there were six other people behind the bar who could have helped serve the walk ups, they did not. All of the tables were full so walk up was the only way to get a beer.
2. The main entre was warm, but not hot. Not a good thing.
Stone has the potential to be something special. Currently, they are very busy. That said, the food quality needs to match the beer quality. Delays in seating, long waits between service, generally inattentive todetails. This time was different and a marked improvement. Seated immediately, on time with a text message to my phone even! We were seated in a quiet outdoor location on the perimeter of the garden. Nice again. Our waitress made some good suggestions and meal arrived in time so we could enjoy the appetizer and quaff enough of our beers yet still have some to enjoy with the food. After dinner we had a pleasant walk around the grounds and enjoy the scene. While this is not a foodie's experience, it is comfort food and hey, it's about the beer. They have a bunch of beers on tap in the store. All you have to do is bring in your growler and they will fill you up. Food is very good. From the outside, it appears to be just another building in an industrial area, but most first-timers will be pleasantly surprised by the unusual layout and architecture what is inside. We were too late for any tours but the store staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The set up of the dinning room is unique. Most of the gardens were closed for a private event but we managed to find a spot. The gardeners have created a peaceful ecosystem. Our server was GREAT! It seems that they know the kitchen can't keep up, because there were many empty tables, yet the hostess was quoting an hour wait. Apparently they know not to fill every table, but even the 3/4 full dining area was too much for the kitchen. Dessert selection is sub par compared to the rest of the experience but that is only due to a lack of options (seemingly). Once we ordered and the brownie came out...WOW. Amazing!

It was a perfect suggestion!! The ambiance of Stone Brewery was fun and modern with beautiful lush greenery, fountains, and a koi pond. Our server was phenomenal - friendly and informative. We found out that all of the food they serve is grown organically on site and prepared fresh for each meal. We were very impressed. My husband's birthday dining experience was made complete with a complimentary birthday beer float. First thing I noticed that even though it was a large room and filled to capacity I could still have a conversation with the other 5 people at my table without shouting. In other words, whoever treated the room acoustically did a tremendous job.
It goes without saying that the beer was excellent.
Everyone seemed quite satisfied with their entrees as well. I had the Sea Bass, loved it, but the chicken schnitzel was looking pretty good as well. We had some appetizers, the quail and boar ribs and highly recommend both.
