The Stockyard is a classic American Tavern that has served delicious steaks, seafood, and drinks to the Greater Boston Area for over 40 years. We take great pride in the quality of our food with beef that is aged to ensure the best flavor and texture. Entrees are prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients locally sourced, including our signature Lobster Pie. Open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, we provide both public and private dining along with a 150 car parking lot.

Now under new ownership, the Stockyard has been refreshed and upgraded with spectacular new additions while still maintaining the unique and classic look of the former Stockyard. Features such as our u-shaped bar, one of the largest restaurant bars in the city, and the infamous Al Capone bar located in our private dining room.y

  • "I made the reservation because this restaurant was featured on phantom gourmet. The oysters were some of the best we've had and the mussels were outstanding. The broth was light but spicy and delicious. My husband had a prime sirloin special steak that was cooked perfectly and I had the lobster pie which was tasty but I wished it had more chunks of the tail rather than the claw and knuckle meat. Anyway, we were celebrating a birthday and enjoyed it. The service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and it was nice to have a parking lot available."

  • "This resturant is nice. it has all the makings of a high end steak house, but it falls just short of great. It is a nice place the prices are okay for the quality of food you get. The night I went there the entire B.C. Football Team was there so service was a little erratic. The food tasted fine but I felt as if I could have cooked it the same. When I go to a high end steak house I like to feel as if I am eating a steak that I could not cook the same way. With all that said I would go back, like i said it is nice just not great."

  • "WE use to eat at this restaurant quite frequently, since the new ownership or management the food quality has gone down quite a bit. I had ordered prime rib, medium, it came out well done. The manager quickly corrected the problem, but it seems the theme of the night was overcooked food. Our app's came out burnt and the table right behind us had overcooked steak. I think they should revisit the way the food use to be prepared. It was empty in there for a Saturday night...you never saw an empty seat before this change."

  • "We came here to celebrate my birthday. They have a wonderful parking lot so you don't have to drive around or worry about valet parking. We started out with several appetizers; the crab cake and the oysters were fantastic. The tuna tartare was the best I have ever had. There was a ton of tuna and it blended well with the cucumber and the avocado and even with the crunchy rice noodles. All the dinners were fantastic. The prime rib was wonderfully cooked to the right temperature. The rest of my party loved their dishes which included the lobster roll, the swordfish special and another beef special. To top it off the chocolate cake was amazing. We look forward to coming back again soon!"

  • "Went with three professional colleagues. Two of us consider ourselves to be "foodies". I had the prime rib and he had the 16 ounce strip. He commented that his steak was better than the last steak he had at one of those well known high end steakhouses found in many major cities. My prime rib was perfect and the other two guys were also impressed with the experience. Great place with alot of character and great service."

If I want a high end PRIME, dry aged steak like in town I can get it here, and if I prefer a great burger, or fresh shucked lobster roll and spend a little less I can get that too. I ave eaten here probably 30 times since they reopened and had a great experiences EVERY TIME, ranging from 25 dollars to 75 dollars per person, depending our group that evening . I have dinned here casually with my younger nieces, fiance and family and also had more formal, in a suit with business people here, and have a great experience every time. Jerry and his staff are top notch,well trained, knowledgeable, attentive and courteous and the food is always fresh, delicious, as described, cooked to perfection and as asked for."

  • "I lived in the neighborhood throughout the 80's & 90's and have very fond memories of the Stockyard as a place to gather with friends for a drink and a really good steak. Well, the fact that I got a place to park right by the front door should have been a clue. I remember Friday night's being jammed. I was also surprised that the menu was, for the most part, a la carte. That would be OK, if in fact the food was worthy of such prices. No ones meat was cooked properly. I could have done a better job. The prime rib was dry and overdone and the skirt steak was raw. Both were ordered medium. The sides we ordered were also not very good, the asparagus was overdone and the lyonnaise potatoes were greasy."

  • "From the moment you walk in this restaurant is great. The staff is friendly, they seat you right away, the service is great and you never feel rushed. The food from start to finish is mouth watering. Dinner starts warm rolls, crackers and the cream butter. The appitizer was plentiful and delicious, we had muscles. For the main course we both had the prime rib. This meat just melted in your mouth and the family style sides were generous. Dessert did not fail either, blueberry pie was excellent. The wine that we were recommended by the waitress to compliment the meal was delicious and was not the most expensive either. Overall I would highly recommend going here. "

  • "Mothers Day Dinner, restaurant at about 50% capacity when I arrived for dinner. Appetizers: Lobster Bisque (way too salty), Crab Cake (very soggy). Dinner: King Cut Prime Rib (tough, inedible, had manager take off bill), Bone in Rib Eye (beyond marbled to extremely fatty, char-grill flavor tasted just plain burnt). Sides: Risotto (good flavor, not creamy), Grilled Asparagus (dried out), Onion Rings (probably Ore-Ida). The table was stained, not polished. Utensils actually had dried food on knife. Living in the Boston area, I did not want to deal with parking in the downtown area. I attempted to choose a restaurant with parking and made a very poor choice. The way I see it, I just paid >$130 for parking."

  • "I frequent this spot almost 1x/month & am typically pleased with the food & service. This visit I took my elderly parents and was disappointed in the service & noise level. I was hoping a late reservation would avoid lots of noise - yet didn't anticipate the very loud table near us to be soo distracting. Luckily they left once our meals arrived. Next time I'll ask for a more secluded table in the back room. Service for this visit was very slow. We waited at least 15-20 minutes before we flagged down a passing waitress - who then realized we were her 4 top. Evidently no one told her. Disappointing for a Tuesday 8pm, when it wasn't very busy. Last visit had service issues too - one more chance before dropping $100/2. Food was excellent,"

  • "First I would say that my wife and I really liked the atmosphere. There was a lively band playing and the people were really enjoying themselves. We ordered the crab cake for an appetizer and both loved it. Unfortunately, the main dish was very disappointing. I learned about your restaurant from a tv show. The Lobster Pie looked so good and it being our anniversary I decided that I would splurge and get it. It was very bland and barely even tasted like lobster. Maybe it was just a fluke but for 36$ I was expecting to be wowed. My wife had the haddock and to be honest she only ate a small portion of it. I will say that the dessert was very good. I had the cheesecake and she had the apple crisp. Service was very good."
