A word from STK - NYC - Meatpacking
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while smoky mirrors allow patrons to catch a glimpse of the surroundings as a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Meatpacking is located in the heart of NYC's Meatpacking District and is the brand’s flagship location. Executive Chef Anthony Fusco mans the kitchen of the four floor venue. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction. With a female-friendly mindset, STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Shrimp Rice Krispies; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jump Lump Crab Salad.

  • "We had a very high expectation for this restaurant seen the reviews from other guests. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary that night ( we even put a note on opentable) but they completely forgot it and there was no mention or extra touch that we had in other restaurants. Our server Hendrick was very nice but the bussers were very obnoxious ( they touched my plate a couple of times while I was not finished yet as I was talking to my girlfriend). The food is great and I will come back but definitely not for special occasions."

Other then that place was good, typical trendy expensive bar. Dinner downstairs was much better, server was friendly and informative, gave us great recommendations and had a great dinner."

  • "I came here at the recommendation of a friend, who said it provided "the New York experience". We arrived on time but had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated inexplicably. Our waiter was a bit too casual with us, responding "yeah" and "what's up" to our inquiries, and was not very helpful with his recommendations, for example "if you're into horseradish, you might like that". The steak was savory and cooked perfectly, but our appetizers were a bit disappointing - the lobster mac and cheese and wild mushrooms were bland. The dipping sauces were good, but the waiter did a poor job of describing them to us. Our experience was good, but it did not live up to how my friend's description unfortunately."

  • "Do not eat here. Wobbly table. Asked to be moved. They said no. Ordered a $260 bottle of Silver Oak. Chipped wine glass. Had to ask for a decanter. Had to pour my own wine. Thirty drunk kids at big table next to us. Good steak but hey LOTS of great steak joints in NYC. Indifferent service. Bored Apple attitude. First time in 20 years I left no tip. Shared my concerns with the manager. Have him my card. Paid my $500 bill for dinner for two. Haven't heard a word"

  • "This was our first time in the meatpacking district and we immediately fell in love with the area and this restaurant. The food was amazing (lamb chops and steak) and the sides were the best I've ever had (mashed potatoes and creamed corn). We had read in several reviews that the music was too loud ... my husband and I are in our early 50's and we thought the music was at a great level and the selection of music was wonderful. We will definitely go back to STK-NYC on our next trip to the city!!"

My party had to yell just to hear each other. Our voices were hoarse the next morning. The place is ridiculous. If you're going to be a club, great! Just be a club. But it's not a place to sit and dine."

One of the air conditioner was not working and literally we were sweating . Our group of 8 was not comfortable and also it was a birthday celebration. We all have been to the Vegas location and it was not even near to that experience."

  • "STK was great. My boyfriend and I are foodies and love trying new places in NYC. We started off with 2 salads and the lil brg's. The salads were $12 or $14 each and the only complaint that I do have is I got the Parmesan salad and there was basically a few pieces of lettuce, DEFINITELY not worth that price. We both for dinner got the medium sirloin which was like butter (his md rare & mine md well) & and 3 appetizers to share (creamed spinach, truffle fries, & the twice baked potatoes) which was way to much food for the two of us, but we had to try. We had no room for dessert but i hear the donuts & STK ice is a good dessert. Definitely will be going back! "

  • "I made reservations 3 weeks in advance via opentable for dinner to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We had a 10:45 reservation on a Friday night. We got there a few minutes late and were seating almost immediately. The hostess was very nice and personable. Our waiter was even better, he was attentive, friendly and he made good recommendations. The music was really loud but we didn't mind since it was Friday night we wanted a more lively atmostsphere. I ordered the 12 oz skirt steak and my boyfriend ordered the sheared tuna and we shared the mash potatoes. Everything was amazing! The mash potatoes were the best we ever had hands down and the steak was cooked to perfection. Overall a great experience well worth the money."

The music was far too loud, even if the music was great, but we could not hear ourselves and talk to each other. We did not even hear the waiter... And the aircondition was too cold.   • "I have been to the one in Hollywood but wanted to try the one in NYC since I heard they opened one. The service was great. My water was never empty, which is good because I was incredibly thirsty that day. We started off with beef tartare which I loved. My friend had never had it before and he loved the limey flavor. I strayed from my usual ribeye and got the skirt steak with chimichurri and that was incredible. The meat was VERY tender, especially for a skirt steak and the sauce had a vibrant flavor. The brussels sprouts with pancetta were OK... but overall, I loved my meal. I'd definitely go back. Just be warned that it's a little loud. "

Now, to the disappointment in the front of the house - if you are seeking even a smidgen of a smile, then keep walking; because friendliness and accommodating is not on this particular location's menu. We were literally "Forgotten" Had to pay for 2 wines at the bar / lounge (for wife and myself) - Advised that they would not transfer the bill to our table Finally seated, 10 feet away, after waiting 25 mins in the lounge area, despite a nearly empty restaurant - I was advised by reception (hostess) that they forgot about us. Received a "No Show" from the restaurant after spending more than $400 (approx. $60 in tips incl.)"
