A word from STG Trattoria
Synthesizing the values of Westside"s BOCADO with the heritage of Italian cuisine, STG will present local and seasonal culinary offerings hedged in Italian institution. Most prominently, the "Trattoria" will feature APN-approved, traditionally regulated Neapolitan pizza crafted "from scratch" and baked in 5,000 pound, wood-fired Acunto ovens shipped from Naples, Italy. The menu – undoubtedly commanded by pizza but accompanied as well by other creative Italian fare – will be fortified greatly by the inimitable talent and experience of Executive Chef Sean Telo. The emphasis will be on traditional execution, ingredient quality, and a slightly disciplined creativity.

STG's entrance will open with an exhaustive walk-in wine cellar boasting by-the-bottle, at just above retail pricing. An innovative apertivo-inspired "Amaro Bar" ,featuring an amari/aperitif-based cocktail program tailored for Trattoria-style dining.

We started with a nice glass of wine which we enjoyed with the asparagus appetizer, really nicely done, but were disappointed that there was not a green salad choice (we typically like a salad and pizza meal). The pizza (we had the Margherita and added prosciutto) was very good; would have liked it to be a bit more done underneath. Tasty caramel gelato for dessert. As others have stated, it is a bit pricey for a casual meal.

Only one server at lunch so the service was very slow but he made up for it by offering us a dessert. The food was very good. I did not order the pizza but regretted that decision when the table next to our table received their pizza. It looked amazing and smelled even better! I will definitely return for the pizza!

Awesome pizza. Doughy but thin crust, bubbling and just a touch blackened on the edges, with flavorful sauce and good buffalo mozzarella. As good as Antico, but you are waited on and at lunch you can get a personal sized pizza. Recommend keeping the pizza simple - Margherita is fantastic. They also have great fresh vegetables - worth getting a salad before the pizza. In early evening you could bring your kids. Love that a proper Italian style pizzeria is in Buckhead! Can seem noisy even when not very crowded because the floors and walls reflect sound.

we went to stg for a friend's 30th bday celebration and it was pretty much a bust - there were no cocktails available - although they had liquor sitting on the bar - the service was terrible - very uninformed server, very slow. at the end when we asked them to bring out the birthday cake we had brought in for the party, they literally brought out the box and sat it on the end of the table. usually someone would know to take it out and stick a candle in it. It was quite sad as we sat there and watched them struggle to open the cake box in front of the bday boy. Will not be going back.

My husband and I dined here on a Saturday night and were seated at a bar height table. already a problem for me, i hate dangling feet and the trouble it causes adjusting a chair. The waiter was friendly and explained the menu and concept of the restaurant. I had to stop him at "no warming lights, food is served when it is ready". WAIT - does that mean I could finish my dinner before my husband is served? YES, that is EXACTLY what happened in spite of assurances from the waiter that it wouldn't. Not an enjoyable meal watching someone eat the whole meal and when they are finished yours is served. While the food was good, I will only go back if we both order the same entree and can eat together.

My friends and I picked STG as our Girls Night Out spot. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and big communal tables that were perfect for our occasion. The service was excellent and the wine list was great. But, we shared the pizza and thought it was just ok. We had one margarita pizza and one mushroom pizza. Out of those two the margarita was the best. The mushroom was really dry and tasted earthy. The style of pizza is similar to Antico but, not quite as good. We would go back and give some other dishes a shot.

The watermelon salad was fresh and creative, the manila clams were outstanding, and the roasted chicken was superb. I was told the chef, Sean Telo, came from Miller Union and is going to the James Beard competition in NYC. They carry bottles Masi Amarone for the same price as I find it in at a wine shop! Our server, Nick was very knowledgeable about the food and especially the wines. He told us about the different Nebbiolo's, Amarone's, and Super Tuscans. He even went out of his way to bring us a couple tastes of wines before we ordered. Overall a fantastic experience. I only wish it were easier to find (it's tucked away in the back corner of the parking lot). Definitely coming back again and asking for Nick!

Small plates were small. Couldn't make the connection between most of the small plates and anything Italian. Pizza was good but not worth $24. One bottle of wine ( cheapest on list), one small plate, one pizza, tax and tip and you're at $85. Hardly a candidate for a cheap and cheerful bite to eat.

My wife and I tried STG for the first time. We live in Midtown and heard the former LPC chef had gone there, and we always enjoyed LPC (and continue to do so with the new chef.) We ventured all the way to Buckhead but were happy we did. It was a Sunday night, but there were a fair number of tables filled up. A decent amount of families/kids - surely due to it being an early Sunday. I liked that they figured some stuff and an innovated a bit: 1- no mains. Just small plates and pizzas. 2 - lots of long group-friendly bar-type seating. Cool place with great food.

We were there for lunch and there were very few customers, so the noise level was no problem. Just looking at the materials used it would seem that at a busy dinner hour, the noise would be uncomfortable. For that reason I would never return for dinner. I know this sort of architecture is very popular, and admittedly very attractive, it is most impractical. I would think that the very talented people we have working in this field should be able to come up with a solution.

Very loud with just a few tables. Would hate to be in here when it's full. The pizza was okay. Not up to the explosion of neopolitans all over town. I would go back at lunch because it's pretty calm but can't imagine carrying on a conversation when it's crowded. Also it's dominated by a U-shaped communal bar. With only a few tables. I go to eat with my friends. Not other people. I absolutely hate this trend. Hopefully it will go away very soon. If I go back will try the sandwiches that sounded a lot better than the pizza.

Very solid food execution across the board. Pizzas were delicious, as were pastas and appetizers. Especially liked the simple foccacia and olive oil--bread was salty and delicious. Menu is limited, so could be difficult to find something for everyone (depending on size of group). Ambiance can best be described as weird. Almost all the seating is communal, and there's no bar to speak of. Not a fit for the Buckhead community. Has much more of a Midtown or Inman Park feel to it. Difficult to have an intimate dinner when you're sandwiched between 2 other groups. All in all, I'd definitely go back, though would most likely request to sit at one of the non-communal tables, or just for a quick bite of pizza and beer.

While waiting to be seated we looked at their blackboard of daily drinks and one was called "Lime Soda". They seated us outside at a table that had not been wiped off and was full of dust and pollen. The guy asked if we would like a drink. My wife asked for water. I ordered a lime soda. He said he didn't know what that was. I explained it. He said they didn't have them (but they did). He asked again if she wanted anything to drink-she said water. He came back 3 times and asked. Her entree came 23 minutes before my pizza. I asked him to put it in a to go box as my wife was done. I took it with me. He never said they were sorry and never said why it was so late. $80 down drain.

Thank you so much for a perfect meal and service. Josh is exceptional. We had a large group of nine girls for a birthday celebration, and he made everyone feel welcome and special. He was wonderful and patient with wine recommendations. He even went above and beyond and surprised the birthday girl with a glass of champagne and a candle (in response to her passing on dessert by saying she was going to drink her sweets!). The entire staff made our evening special from the moment we walked in to our departure. I highly recommend it for a fun, festive meal!

Although the food was very good, the pasta dish was very small and not listed as a "small plate". In addition, we felt very hurried through our meal even though there were at least five unoccupied tables while we were dining. We barely put down our fork before someone whisked away our plates. The food came out almost too quickly (within 7-8 minutes) which included a delicious kale and arugula salad, margarita pizza and a pasta dish. I am not sure how these were prepared so quickly. We arrived at 7:30, were seated by 7:35 and finished by 8:05. We were looking for a good meal and a relaxing meal with our adult children and were very disappointed. It is also a very loud restaurant.
