Started with 3 dozens of oyster, 80%+ of them had shards of shell in them. One diner at the miso sablefish, which was very delicious and had a very good portion. I had the lobster risotto. The risotto was bland, and the lobster was so over cooked that it's rubbery. The chocolate mousse was delicious, and it's the only one thing that i find worth the money for the entire evening.

I hadn't been to Steveston Seafood House for years .. maybe 20+. I was pleasantly surprised with the service and food. It's nice to be able to go to a restaurant in the neighborhood that actually serves good food and has good service. I find the restaurants in the Steveston neighborhood highly over-rated and service lacking.

I bought four of my colleagues here for a business dinner and stumbled on what I think is the best seafood restaurant in the Vancouver area. Our waiter was polite and witty and most of us went with his recommendations, and we were pleasantly surprised. One of my colleagues asked to meet the chef to compliment her on the Alaskan sea bass. From that conversation we found out that she has worked there most of her life and our waiter admitted he was the owner! We were so impressed! I absolutely love this place and recommend it to anyone considering seafood. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Vancouver!

We have been going to the Steveston Seafood House for our Wedding Anniversaries for many years. Our experience this time started out with a surprise on the menu which wished us a Happy Anniversary. We have never seen this done before and were very impressed with the recognition. From there, the menu items that we ordered were all, reasonably priced and excellently prepared. It was a great overall experience.

We were visiting Vancouver and looking for a nice seafood restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The only thing this restaurant is missing is a view of the water! Our server was interactive and recommended items when asked. My husband went with the blackened cod while I went with the lobster risotto. We picked the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer, which were delicious but the bacon should have been cooked just a little more. The risotto was very good but the lobster was two rather large chunks just on top. My husband's cod arrived with a nice selection of vegetables and he said the fish was beautifully tender and not at all dry. Overall we would recommend this restaurant and very much enjoyed our experience.

We found this place by accident. Not being from the area, we had friends wishing to meet us halfway and chose Steveston. The restaurant we wished to book didn't have enough room for five at our desired time so we surfed Urbanspoon and found this gem in the rough. Technically it's in Richmond but who cares. It is now our choice of restaurants rated right up there with the best anywhere. The food was prepared perfect from the the startes to the finish! Fantastic restaurant with a little Storybrook intrigue to boot!

We were drawn to this restaurant by its location and positive reviews. The short story is that it was the worst wild salmon dinner I have ever had. We regularly eat salmon at home and I ate salmon numerous times while traveling in the Vancouver area. I only finished half of my serving and wished that I had returned it to the chef earlier. I recommend that you go elsewhere if you are looking for a good meal in Steveston.

We just recently moved to Steveston so were still discovering all the local good eateries. We definitely consider ourselves foodies ... We took our daughter here for thanksgiving dinner and the food was so good my husband and I went back again the following night and my husband happily announced to the staff that we were going to come back every night until we has a bad meal!!! The food is quite phenomenal !!

Well prepared seafood, open atmosphere. Not the place if you want privacy, tables are close, we could hear every conversation in the restaurant. The food could have been hotter, but it was tasty. The only real disappointment was the King Crab, really thin legs, so almost no taste in the way they are served, unfortunately that is my own favourite when having crab.

This was a repeat visit for my husband and me as we live in Richmond and have been going here a couple times a year for maybe 25 years. We have never been disappointed and had some friends with us who were new to the restaurant. My husband and I have a hard time getting past the Schnitzel Richmond as we love it but our friends had the mussels and the special that night, a salmon dish. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Service was attentive as usual. A great evening.

Not only where our meals delicious, but the service was exceptional. The server was knowledgeable about the menu, and gave excellent recommendations, resulting in me ordering and thoroughly enjoying the sablefish dinner. Although one of our party was late in arriving, we were never rushed. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary dessert, as they felt it had taken longer than acceptable for us to receive our main courses. We all left stuffed and happy!

I had been to the Steveston Seafood House many years ago and it was fantastic. I assume the original owner is long gone. Their website however made it look like the same place. It was my 50 birthday we wanted to try it again and came from Langley with two elderly people. Completely different looking inside. Wasn't the cleanest. Food came and it was cold. Seafood tasted canned. Extremly dissapointed. Will not go back.

From the time we arrived we were welcomed by their wonderful staff. Everyone from our wonderful server, to the hostess, etc. were fantastic. As for the food, yum! We shared the appy platter for two ( shrimp two ways, scallops, tuna tartare, lox, and calamari). Excellent all round. For entrees I had the mighty fraser ( filet topped with seafood) and my partner had the seafood fettuccine ( fresh and not too heavy a sauce). Wine list was small but well thought-out. Very quiet atmosphere, perfect for a romantic evening meal where you actually want to be able to hear one another. We will return if we are in the area again, and would recommend to others.

We have been going to the St,eveston Seafood House since it opened in 1978. There have been many changes over the years, but the service and food have always remained their highest priority. Our visit the other night was no exception. The current owner and staff pay great attention to each diner and the kitchen produces some of the best seafood dishes around. Our family chose Steveston Seafood House to celebrate a birthday. We loved the understated classiness, from the elegantly simple menu to the well-timed service to the entrees that we savored leisurely—to do them justice and to attend to happy conversation too. We appreciated that the menu was Ocean Wise as far as possible and that thoughtfulness was also natural toward us people. When we kept chatting away after paying the bill, the server kept pleasantly refilling the water glasses, and I’ve just realized that the air conditioning was ideal too. A long time ago, in our previous visit to Steveston Seafood House, we enjoyed the experience, so we expected that again. As it turned out, it all came together to exceed our expectations.

Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance was set and it was cute and romantic. Very few diners. Service was okay. My Blackened Halibut was dry and overcooked. A bit of hardened rice and too much garnish which took over half of the plate, compared to the fish. Not worth $28. The Garry Point dish was also disappointing as it had the same rice and garnish and a small mixture of seafood swimming in cream sauce. Fresh oysters were mushy and warm, not chilled. The oysters didn't come with anything else but Tabasco sauce and Lea and Perrins. I really wished the food and our experience was better. I'm sorry but I would not recommend nor would I return.
