We had an 8:30 reservation but decided to sit at the bar, which we do often. The bartenders are always cordial and take great care of us. Started with the crab and artichoke dip served with toast. It was nice and rich, had good flavor but could use a little more crab. My wife had crab cakes for dinner and they were good, as usual. I'm sure there is some kind of filler but you sure can't see it or taste it. I had the New York strip steak. I ordered it medium rare + and it was cooked perfectly. Had a nice crust on the outside and was seasoned perfectly. It came with a baked potato loaded with toppings. The service was friendly and attentive without standing by your table. I haven't been to Steve Fields in awhile and I was surprised at how good everything was. Steve came to our table twice during dinner to wish me a happy birthday and bring birthday cake. The prime rib was excellent and my wife loved the pecan crusted trout. Both dishes were large and we were stuffed and still took a portion home. The ambiance there is perfect - nice but not stuffy. Not whisper quite where everyone can hear the next table's conversations but you can easily have conversation at your table. When we don't, we are almost always disappointed. This time we went later in the evening (8:30) and it was even better.

Moderately crowded. Good music for dining. Quick and attentive service all night. Dark, attractive, formal-ish setting. White table cloths, black napkins. Table lighting was still good. (I like to be able to see my food). Shrimp cocktail was very fresh. The salads are large, so we split one. The spinach salad was very good.
The filets come with a baked potato, so they don't try to gouge you for a side. Additional sides are available, but we didn't need one. The steaks were tender and tasty, but not outstanding. The creme brulee with fresh berries was attractive, if a little bland. The sugar glaze on top was good, but a bit thick. Coffee was good. Food was fantastic and the menu for Easter was on the money. My wife has a new favor with the sea bass and nothing better for me than the generous portions prime rib. Casey our waiter was very attentive but not a bother. Great Easter meal for us and great to see other families enjoying the experience on Easter Sunday. We were surprised when the server took care of an item that we ordered for our child, but it wasn't what we were expecting. We merely made a comment that they shouldn't really charge what they did for what the item actually was and they should warn parents before they ordered. When the server brought the bill he had the item taken off.
