  • "Took a few clients out to dinner and had a great time. I enjoyed the fresh mango pureeJalapeno margarita, it was to die for! They over cooked my ribeye but tpook care of the issue right away, had a new one within 5 minutes. Sometimes stuff happens but they did what they needed to fix it and it didnt ruin the night at all! Would come back next time I make my way to Dallas!"

  • "I celebrated my 60th birthday by treating myself to a great lunch with a beautiful woman who happened to wish me Happy Birthday within ear shot of our waitress. We shared a dessert which was presented on a large white platter with the words, "Happy Birthday" penned in chocolate script. It was a very nice gesture and an event (I hope) to remember for all the birthdays to follow."

Food is both approachable but unusual enough to stand apart from the typical lunch menu. Noise level can depend upon where you're seated. This time we were positioned near some large doors which seemed to funnel the accompanying dining room noise directly to our table."

We're last to leave the restaurant by several minutes yet were never even nudged to the door. The fois was only fair but the duck was superb. Wife loved her kale salad and her entry.   • "Great for a business lunch, but the dinner menu is not great (little variety, no sides, such as spinach, asparagus or anything else green) and the dining area is still just as bright as during the day and noisy. Our server splashed wine on the table, they sat us at a table by the walkway and the kitchen even when we requested a quiet/out of the way table in advance, right in front of where the servers kept dumping silverware and rewrapping it in napkins, and right in front of a large group. The food wasn't up to par for the prices charged ($48 for a tenderloin). I've been here several times for business lunches, and will keep it on that list, but won't be returning for dinner with so many other great options nearby."

When asked where we dining for the evening the feedback we received was nothing but praised.. My girl and I had a great dining experience. The food, ambience, service, and overall dining experience was A+. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everybody especially if your intent is to impress and make a good impression."

  • "Too many bad things to list. Very dirty tables on the patio, dirty wine glass with a bottle order. Patio furniture very uncomfortable. Sea Bass was dry and very little to no taste to all other food. Way over priced for what we got. Ruined our whole night."

  • "It was a Valentine's Day meal, my fiancee and I love to dine out, and this was a complete and utter disappointment. Stephan Pyles is legendary for good reason; the food was inventive, and my entree in particular was amazing (black sea bass with lobster-chive potstickers). The service was surly and slow. Our waitress assured us our wine pairings would be coming with the set menu, and when they didn't, she seemed surprised that I had wanted the pairings. She then skipped a wine course and messed up a second. Several times over the course of the evening, I had to send another server out to retrieve her so she could fix something. I might eat here again, but never special occasion, and NEVER prix-fixe."

We enjoyed a sample of ceviches (on topped with Pop Rocks), a spicy southwest career with corn bread croutons and steak with a rub to die for. The ambience is modern and comfortable without being snooty. We definitely plan on returning as soon as we get babysitting again."

  • "Staff was attentive and knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. I loved the unique presentations and flavors of our dishes. You must start with one (or three) of the Peruvian style ceviches which will dance on your tongue, especially when the ingredients include chili flavored pop rocks... that's right - chili flavored pop rocks. The dish made me smile. I would also highly recommend a Cesar salad before your entrée which is artfully presented like a bouquet of romaine lettuce in a parmesan crust vase. I chose the sous vide beef tenderloin for my main course which was one of the most tender and flavorful cuts of meat I have had in a long time. I can't wait to take more people on a culinary adventure at Chef Pyles's restaurant."

  • "This was our first time dining at Stephen Pyles we have dined at his other establishments and have been blown away but our experience on Saturday was a huge let down.. The apps were slow to come out but that did not bother us, they were both wonderful. We watched as tables that came in after us being served their entrees and we had still not received ours, plus our waitress was no where to be found. Our dinner arrived, the pork and duck, I tried my side with the duck which was like eating little pebbles. Again the server was no where to be found and I finished my duck by the time she had come back by to check on us. A gentleman stopped by the table to correct the situation, but the side that he replaced it with was still not cooked well."

  • "I've been to SP for many business meals. I thought that this would be a good choice for me and my valentine. They were running behind so we went to the bar. 10-15 minutes passed and we were seated. Our server was the worst I've had in a long time. He pushed the wine list in my hands and asked what bottle I wanted. No thank you. I asked for a cocktail menu. I ended up asking a bus boy for a cocktail during the 3rd course and then the waiter asked me if I needed the menu. Dinner was prixe fixe; disappointing but ok. The waiter had zero opinion on the choices between the courses; "they are all good". $200 later we left disappointed with the food. It was all very heavy and the dessert was sad especially since we never get to eat it!!"

  • "I would say the menu at Stephen Pyles is amongst the most modern in Dallas, with hints and flourishes of molecular gastronomy techniques that reminded me a bit of trips to Moto and Ailena in Chicago. The flavors, however, are decidedly Texan / Mexican. The most outstanding thing I had was the 'Tamale Tart' - in appearance it was classic tart but the shell was made of masa, the custard a garlic cream and it was topped with lump crab meat. The sous vide tenderloin was also very good - as tender as you can get. The service was disappointing. It was a bit on the arrogant side and a waiter couldn't be found when you wanted them - water glasses went empty, dishes uncleared. Not what you'd expect when the check is $200+ for 2 ppl"

  • "I really want to like this place. The food was good, but not spectacular. I'll give this place another chance and try something else on the menu. We had: The pre-dinner bread - just ok. Tamale Tart - just ok Stephan's Original Southwestern Ceasar Calad - good but not spectacular like the server raved it Prime Rib - good but not spectacular like the server raved it Nova Scotia Halibut - good, but the grilled baby octopuss was very chewy. Donut and Espresso Creme Brulee - the presentation was excellent, but the donut was very chewy. It reminds me of a chewy dinner roll. It really needs to be dipped in the sauce and creme brulee so you'd forget how chewy it is. The Espresso Creme Brulee was good."

Also had the southwestern salad which was good also and the parsnip soup which was...different. The drinks were good and the ambiance was romantic except for the background music.   • "We absolutely loved our tasting menu. It was an experience in itself. Tasteful dishes, creativity and original but still simple (beets with frozen goat cheese), lightly fried Oyster, muschroom soup with marshmallow and chocolat , etc..(I don't have the menu with me) We were saying WOW, at each and every dish. We were skeptical that it would be a crescendo of WOWs, from dish to dish. But we assert that it was and it is unanimes among all 4 guests. The pace of the service was perfect, and we really appreciated being served all at the same time for each dish. The servers were great and he gave us good explanations of each dish. The pairing wines were also very well chosen."
