Stella's Fish Cafe & Prestige Oyster Bar is a casual seafood restaurant located in the heart of Uptown's bussling neighborhood.

Specializing in accessibly priced super fresh fish & oysters, chef specialties, pastas and steaks, Stella's serves it all up in a warm & lively setting, devoid of pretension or snootiness. Stella's presents "Lobster Lover's Sundays" with 1 1/4lb. lobsters for only $19.95 and a Friday "Oyster Orgy" Happy Hour with $1 oysters, $5.25 appetizers and 2:1 tap beer, house wine and single pour rail cocktails!

Even with having reservation they told us that they can't let us to sit at the patio because it is so popular and we have to stand in line for at least an hour. Redicuilous with reservation !!!! I had even put a note on my reservation request asking for a good view seat. They could and actually should have got back to me then and let me know that we can't reserve a seat. A restaurant that everybody is going there just for the patio and not for the mediocre food in summer and is also part of open table for reservation Is not ok to cheat on reservation on a Saturday night. So don't reserve a spit on open table for this restaurant . It is absolutely useless !"

However, the Brussels sprouts weren't cleaned/prepped properly and the beets in the salad were totally unseasoned. They tasted boiled and bland. Either roast them with simple seasonings or they need something else. Best calamari!"

  • "There was a long wait for outdoor seating (no surprise), but it was a beautiful night, so we opted to wait. Our server (Ben) was great and very attentive considering how busy they were. I had the swordfish chef special, and it was delicious. My husband had the sea bass special, and his fish was slightly undercooked (he said it was a bit gelatinous). We've been here previously, and never had that problem, so it possibly could have been due to how busy they were. We didn't complain, as he had gotten enough food between the ends of the fish and what I couldn't eat of mine."

Although We Saw Her Busing And Setting OtherTables, She Walking Though The Dining Room Without Even Looking OUr Way. We Had To Track Her Down For To go Containers, To Order Coffee And DessertS. She Didn't Check For Additional Drink Orders Throughout The Meal. When The Check Was Presented a Gratuity Was Added For The Large Party. That Didn't Surprise Me, What Was A Surprise Was That It Was 20% WhenTheServiceWarranted 15% At The Most. I Am From LA And Even In Most Fine Dining RestaurantS, Which This WaS Not, They Do Not Presume To Add 20%."

  • "I'm a pretty laid back customer & have never sent a food item back. I got really close this time but lost my appetite & just wanted to get out of there.We ordered an appetizer of calamari which was ok, but a small portion. To start, when my husband's food came out, it was the wrong dish so he had to sit there & wait until his food was ready. I was excited for my lobster, what I thought should be one of the best things on the menu, but was incredibly disappointed. I started opening the tail shell & this disgusting green goop comes poring out, seemed undercooked, & smelled super fishy. I guess they leave the "insides" but I've never had it prepared this way. So gross, couldn't finish or eat anything else. Bathrooms were a complete disaster."

  • "This was our first time at Stella's. The staff was more than accommodating. There was seating on the roof, so we went up there. It started to rain, so our waiter pulled a table under the bar area for us to sit. I said to my boyfriend later that I felt like someone had called ahead to tell them we were coming and to be extra nice to us and he was thinking the same thing. Granted we were there for lunch and not the dinner rush, but we received excellent service and the food was good too."

Otherwise, the food was so good. I don't think you can go wrong with anything at Stella's. The mixed drinks were also just perfect... Not too strong or watered down."

  • "Our party of four had an excellent lunch on the rooftop. Seafood, as usual was fresh and very tasty. Suggestion-get there early for good seating as the rooftop is very popular and fills up quickly. My tablemate loved her fish and chips, salad with walleye is also excellent. Fish tacos were good, but she noted nothing spectacular. We will return!"

  • "We've eaten at Stella's before and had great food and service. Love eating outside on the rooftop. This time, on a Sunday evening, there were a surprising number of quite drunk young people having trouble negotiating the crowd and stairs. The food was good, although not as good as I had remembered. Our waiter could hardly be bothered to wait on us, very slow with drinks, dirty dishes left on the table, even after asking for them to be removed. I actually ended up moving them to another dirty table while we waited (20 min) for our desert to arrive. The best I can say about the evening is that it was beautiful to sit outside."

The Sunday happy hour timing and menu and prices were wonderful and we will most definately return. Also had drinks on upstairs/outside patio and that was a great experience too-fun place to be. But if there are activities outdoors around this area its hard to get parking even in ramp across street so be aware and plan extra time and it will be great."

  • "Chose Stella's for my birthday celebration and they don't even give you a complimentary piece of cake which is disappointing. Chef's specials were out of this world delicious. Brought out one entrée that was incorrect and it took a while to get it back which makes all the others in the party uncomfortable eating in front of the person waiting for their food. This is not ok. Probably won't be celebrating our birthdays at Stellas for the expensive pricing you'd think they'd make you feel special on your day."

  • "We had reservations. A special birthday night. When we arrived we were told that they don't make reservations for the patio. We were disappointed. We decided to see what they had inside the stuffy 1st floor. We were led to a table at the top of the stairs. It wasn't very special or romantic, like we had asked for. We asked for a seat by the window and were led to a table with half a window. We were still trying to make the best of it when the busboy arrived and quickly slopped water into the glasses. I think he aimed for the glasses but most went on my wife's lap. We left."

Overall, there is nothing to be dissatisfied with at Stella's except, perhaps, for the prices. Definitely not an every week excursion on my budget, but worth the splurge on occasion."

We went back for our 6th wedding anniversary, and the food is still super good. It's a little noisy, but worth it."

  • "There are at least three great things about Stella's - the oysters, the rooftop seating and the service. We enjoyed all three on Father's Day. The Sunday night Lobster special is also excellent although we didn't have it this time. The sushi rolls are good but not as good as other restaurants that focus on sushi. My only real complaint is that the indoor seating isn't great. There are about 5 booths that are cozy but the free-standing tables seem randomly placed and the high-tops have stool/chairs that are too low."

  • "Stella's. The food is very good, though a little pricy. The weather cooperated on the day of our visit and we were able to sit up on their roof deck. It is a WONDERFUL place to eat. Our server was very friendly, though a little slow. We had a group of 5, everyone had something different, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The cajun beef with bernaise and the calamari were wonderful appetizers. Lobster bisque is tasty with generous pieces of lobster. My blackened shrimp tacos were moist and tender. We were there on Fathers Day so there were a LOT of kids. But yeah, we'll go back."
