My son has several food allergies, and besides having a gluten free menu with lots of options, the chef came out and validated all our concerns and prepared my son's dish with TLC. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was excellent and they were very accommodating!!! Also, a great atmosphere!

a restaurant can be empty, and they seat people next to your table especially 4 loud women cackling & speaking loud? Makes no sense, when the rest of the restaurant had a few diners at the other end. Lunch had a special and that was fine. A short rib sandwich, comparable to a steak sandwich was quite tasty along w/a salad Waiter very animated & had a few tables so he was in constant motion, but very good. Would go back & send others, good location

We found by accident after a major traffic jam on 76. We were late for reservations at another restaurant. They would not hold our table. Walking by Stella Rossa we said could you get a party of 4 in and they said yes. They got us right in and the service and food was fabulous! We have now visited 3 times and each time the service and food has been exceptional ! I recommend the Oreo Cookie Espresso shooter for desert. It will not disappoint. ...

Diner food quality. Very disappointing. It was inexpensive. It's off our list of places to go, no matter how convenient it is to the Walnut Street Theater. The server, Greg was nice. He should probably find a job at a good restaurant.

Very, very loud inside and not helped by the music being blasted right by our table. They also ran out of two of the wines we ordered. A wine bar running out of wine? We had gone for a special birthday celebration, but couldn't even hear the other folks at the table.

Our meal at Stella Rossa Ristorante was okay, not bad, not great, just okay. I ordered a glass of wine and to my dismay, they were out of all red wines by the glass except one. Our appetizer came very quickly, braised meatballs. Our entrees were okay as well, penne a la vodka and eggplant parmesan. The service was acceptable considering how crowded the restaurant was. So would we go back? Yes, we would try them again but would order pizza next time.

This is a convenient restaurant with a good menu for dinner before the show at the Walnut Street Theater. Plus a discount is offered for theater goers. Service is friendly and food is good. The pizza has a wonderfully thin crispy crust.

I went with a group of 9 people for dinner for my birthday on a Saturday, and we had the best time! The food was good, but even better, the service was fantastic (we loved our waiter, Jerry!) and we got to sit upstairs in a more secluded space allowing us more room and a quieter atmosphere to be able to talk with the group.

We arrived at the restaurant at 10:20am, and although they advertised opening at 10am, the doors were locked and no one answered the door until we called. The lights were not on and the waitstaff was not ready for customers. We didn't stay long before leaving for another restaurant.

My friends and I met at Stella Rossa Ristorante for a quick pre-theater dinner. The service was outstanding. George, our waiter, was knowledgeable and very helpful without being instrusive. The beet salad was especially tasty...sweet golden beets, crisp fresh greens and the dressing finished the dish perfectly.

While the food was very good, the restaurant was ill prepared to accommodate the Walnut Street Theatre matinee crowd. The servers were friendly and curteous, however, it took over 20 minutes to receive our drinks, food was not delivered in unison for the table, coffee was served in paper cups which challenged my restrained comments. The manager intuitively sensed a problem and made some effort to compensate for the poor service. To be fair, the blame should be weighted on management not having the foresight to prepare in advance for a Thursday matinee crowd. I will go back because of the food and the way the issues were addressed. If however history repeats itself, Stella Rosa's existence will be short-lived.

My wife and I were in for a theater show, coincidentally, it happened to be restaurant week and we chose Stella Rossa. They were flexible and courteous when we changed the timing of of reservation... twice. A brick oven kitchen and good bottle and tap selection. We would like to visit again for a pizza or two with friends. Their neopolitan crust was a specialty and very good. Thanks to the staff for a very pleasant meal and experience!

I ordered the same salad as the last time. The beet salad with goat cheese. I have a nut allergy and they added more of the other ingredients to make up for the missing nuts. I would have liked a substitute but not complaining. My lunch companions loved their food too one order chicken piccata the other a meatball sub and fries which that gutted the roll upon request. Fries were tasty! A must try restaurant if you are in the area. Do not judge by the temporary sign, hopefully this spot is here to stay.

Pre theater casual Italian eatery with affordable prices. The service was good. The meat and cheese choices for the antipasto are interesting and the assorted olives are very good. Didn't like that the red wine came in a carafe with what I would call a juice glass and not stemware so we asked for stemware and the waiter brought it. My penne pasta with spinach, pine nuts and sun dried tomato was very good. My husband ordered the four cheese stuffed rigatoni pizzaioli with sausage and pepperoni in a spicy marinara. The rigatoni were overcooked and mushy but he said he liked the overall flavors. Portions were smallish but less pricey. Dessert selection of 4 mousse tumblers were just ok and needs some other home style Italian options.

The staff was great and friendly. The food was delicious I got the Chicken Piccata. It was nicely cooked, not dry and the spaghetti was not overcooked with a nice sauce with capers. I ate the whole thing. The seating was comfortable and the price was good. We opted for a small key lime mousse for dessert.

We needed a restaurant close to the Forrest Theatre for a show we were seeing. This restaurant is truly a gem. The food was delicious, the wait staff very nice and friendly, I had asked for no onions on my salad and as soon as our waitress saw that I had them she whisked it away with all apologies and within five minutes I had a new one. My daughter got the Cheese plate and she said it was exceptional. I had a strawberry bellini that was just delicious. And finally, Vinny, the Gen Mgr. visited our table and topped off the night with some funny stories and personally had our bill expedited because he wanted us to be on time for our show. Highly recommend!

This is a hidden gem - close to the theater. Service was terrific - inside is very cool. We had dinner - the Salmon was done perfectly and they gave us no issues at all for requesting special prep. Our Waitress was intentive and let us sit and talk for a while - we were not rushed out. Prices were moderate - Deserts looked great This was recommended by my daughters friend - and she was spot on

Chose this place because of the location. The temporary sign takes away from the expectation of a great meal. I ordered the beet salad which had goat chees and almonds. I nixed the almonds because of a slight allergy, but was bummed that there was sunflower seeds or pepitas to substitute for that crunch. The salad was delicious, the beets were steamed and almost too soft. Not sure if that was the intention. My fellow diners ordered pizzas. I did try the fig and proscuitto, I do not eat pork so removed it and it was still very delicious. The crust was great was not doughy. The pepperoni looked good but there was too much oily seepage from the pepperoni for me. I would definitely return and maybe try the fig pizza sans the pork.
