This was the perfect place for us. We were looking for something delicious and close to the Garden as we had tickets for a concert there. The wait staff was very attentive but not overbearing. And the food was delicious. We shared an order of the arancini that was delectable! My husband thought the lamb chops were very good and prepared to perfection. I had one of the specials that had pork that was so tender and tasty! Highly recommend this restaurant .

Stella always makes for a good dining experience. It was my 3rd time eating at Stella and it was just as wonderful again this time. The service, the food, the desserts and timing of it all - flowed perfectly. We were there with clients and the waiter made it all happen for us! Thanks!

The menu is limited but the location is great, 6th floor of Macy's Herald Square, with a separate elevator to whisk you there. The staff seems a bit robotic, the decor is minimal, but the food was fresh and tasty, and just two blocks from Madison Square Garden.

my friend and I were meeting at Penn Station. I didn't know of any restaurants in the immediate area. when I googled Macy's to see what was there, Stella's came up. we decided to try it. we were both very pleased with the food and the service. it did get crowded and a little noisy, but the food and service made it worth it. I will go back, and will recommend it to other friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! Had the veal meatballs, calamari, mushroom pizza, the sea bass--everything was perfectly cooked and very tasty! The tiramisu (terrific taste and texture) and cheesecake were also to die for, we will be back again! It has been 3 days since we ate there and I'm still thinking about the amazing food!

Wish we hadn't tried this, but did it for the convenience of being at Macy's Herald Square. This could be a great restaurant as the location and decor are cool, but it falls short in so many ways. The service was slow, the recommendations from the server were not accurate, the server didn't return to check on us. When I finally got up and asked a manager for more water, we were accommodated quickly and at no cost (we asked for bottled). The food itself is hit or miss. Good menu; spotty execution. The calamari was yummy, but they use cheaper ingredients for their pizzas. The mozzarella was cut too thick and rubbery, the pear pizza was way too sweet. The lamb chops were decent. The tomato soup was good. The hostesses were snarky.

I chose this place arbitrarily after searching for restaurants with 2 dollar signs and reading reviews. I was enticed by raves of authentic Italian and a view of the Empire State building and the nearby Herald Square. Though I was let down by where we were seated at (no view), the service was good. The server was quite patient, as my party arrived in a staggered format. My group started with a pizza margherita, calamari, and a duck bruschetta. While I wished the pizza had an authentic Italian crisp, the calamari was breaded and cooked nicely. I ordered Cresta Di Gallo (paste) and swordfish (entree). Pasta was filling, but could have done without the guanciale (pork). Swordfish was cooked perfectly, though I wasn't a fan of the sauce.

The food was delicious and the view of the Empire State Building was amazing. It was the perfect spot for an end of the day dinner near Penn Station. First off, I was blown away by how amazing everything was! The chef was originally from Donatella, so there were similar dishes from what I remember there, all delicious. We sampled a nice chunk of the menu, 2 salads, meatballs, 2 pastas, and arancini (some of the best I've had). :ast but certainly not least was the dessert! We shared a half scoop of rice and half of chocolate hazelnut, what a perfect combo! And we were brought over some sort of cream puffs which were also out of this world and although I was so full at that point, I managed to eat one or three. Highly recommending Stella for an evening with friends, date, special occasion or just for a nice meal. We will indeed be back!

Easy to get to, great service, consistently good food, nice variety of food, and a good range of prices for different budgets. Once you get past the rather awkward welcome - including the processing of 4 cash register receipts which made me feel like I was about to order fast food- the rest is sublime. Our incredibly enthusiastic waitress who loved everything- and had reason to. The food was wonderful. Who would have thought the best restaurant near MSG would be in Macys? This entire area has been devoid of good food for years and Stella has brought something to the neighborhood its been lacking for years - a place worth going to. The wine list, beer list, view, service and quality of food is unparalleled when compared to other spots in the surrounding blocks. The meal I had (eggplant) was very satisfying as were the starters (beets and then brussels sprouts). The room is light and airy and you'll feel as though you are far from the hustle and bustle of 34th street. Highly recommended.

After a long day of shopping, I didn't really want to go out somewhere with packages in hand to get a meal. I asked a store employee if there was a restaurant in the store that was decent and she told me about the Trattoria. My expectations were not high, but boy was I surprised! The atmosphere felt like I was somewhere completely different than a department store, the service and food were really great and it wasn't even loud and crowded. Granted, the prices weren't inexpensive either, but this is NYC. Our calamari was tender with a nice crispy coating, and the marinara sauce it came with had a nice kick. We enjoyed the salad with prosciutto and dates, and the eggplant parmigiana was terrific! The fungi pizza was also good.

The food and entire experience at Stella is awesome. It's a great spot for after work drinks and apps as well as a place for a quality bite (pizza and more) before events at The Garden. But Stella is way more. It is Italian fine dining at it's best with inventive dishes on a deep menu of choices. Last Thursday we had an Italian steak preparation with field mushrooms that was superb. The quality rivaled the finest NYC Steakhouses with the only difference being that the NYC Steakhouses don't conceptualize or execute food this way. It's beyond their scope. Simply fantastic. The service was smooth, unobtrusive and excellent. I had dropped my napkin unbeknownst to me and my server simply placed a fresh one on the table. Stella is superb.

I have eaten here twice since it has opened. It is a great little find on Macy's 6th floor and a nice central location for meeting friends in mid-town. It has a nice variety of modern Italian dishes and pizzas. I've had the cauliflower pizza on both occasions, an interesting mix of ingredients that comes together perfectly, delicious. Also tried the mushroom linguini (sharing dishes) and although it was tasty enough, I felt the $21 lunch portion was small and the mushrooms (my favorite) were very scarce. I did pick up a small container of Verdure to go, a delicious vegetable blend that I had tried and enjoyed on my previous trip. Lunch reservations are accepted, it does get quite busy.
