"I took my friend to Stefan's at LA Farm for his birthday. I had made my reservation on open table and noted that the dinner was in celebration of his birthday hoping they could do something special for him. When we arrived the hostess said happy birthday so she clearly got my note but throughout the night desserts with candles kept going by but before we knew it I was paying the bill and nothing had come for him. I was not pleased. While it bugged me, overall we had a great time, the food was delicious and otherwise the service was great. I would definitely go back."

"We had dinner on a Friday night to celebrate my husband's birthday and loved it! The food was delicious from starters to desserts! Smallish wine list but very good choices. Scallops were fantastic and the beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked. Order the Vanilla souffle early as it takes 35 mins to prepare ... but worth every calorie. Loved it so much we went back three nights later for his 14th anniversary party and had the $14 3-course menu. What a deal! All around great dining experience...and Stefan is very friendly and a good host!"

"I always like this place--the bar is inviting and comfortable. The place is pretty without being formal. Stefan is always buzzing around, and he's fun. I think the food is good to very good, although not great. But I don't need a foodie haven with all the headaches (crowds, noise) that that entails. Also, I know I can get food that's not overly rich here. I hate being forced to eat some deep-fried meat dish that the hot chef of the moment has decided is the right thing to serve. At Stefan's, I prefer to sit in the main dining room which is like a big garden and on Saturday, they seated us in the other room by the bar. But it was fine and, most importantly, you could actually hear yourself think."

"Service started off poorly. It took 15 minutes to get recognized at our table. Then we ordered a bottle of time and it took 15 minutes to come back and tell us the bottle was not available. Things turned around though and we received attentive service the rest of the night.
The food was pretty good with minor hiccups. The short ribs were good but they were a touch dry. The brussel sprouts were nice though.
All in all, it felt like a mediocre business lunch spot."
