  • "Had amazing cocktails. I ordered a beer and it was flat. The waiter quickly got me something else with no problem. A few min later a staff member brought me another one of the original beer I ordered. She told me the changed the keg and this was on the house. Very good customer service. The good was excellent. Decided to try the pork and beans appetizer. Sounds weird but it was delicious."

  • "We had been wanting to try Steel and Rye for some time, and glad we now did. Brunch was delightful. A very tasty Bloody Mary (1 of 5 Bloody Mary options!), followed by Monk's head cheese and lamb meatballs w/Hen egg appetizers (do NOT miss the Monk's head cheese - spectacular!), then pan cooked dutch pancake and REAL chipped beef on toast for our appetizers. Sunday food coma on the way! The beauty of it all was the portions all around; just right, not overwhelming. Great service, wonderful space."

  • "My wife and I have been fans of Chef Parsons from the time we first set foot in Catch, his restaurant in Winchester. We were so disappointed when his restaurant left Winchester, but when it came to celebrating my wife's birthday, it was the perfect occasion to try his new restaurant. It was an easy drive down to Milton and we were so excited as we pulled up to Steel & Rye. Free valet parking, and from there, it only got better. Very cool bar scene while we enjoyed our cocktails and waited a few minutes for our table. The food was nothing short of amazing, as always, and the staff made my wife's birthday extra special. We will definitely be back very soon!"

  • "I was blown away by the service at Steel and Rye when I took my fiance here to celebrate a new job. I had written a note in our reservation about the occasion, and from the moment we walked through the door, we were treated like VIPs! The hostess chose a cozy table for us, and our waiter was extremely attentive all night. The appetizers were amazing -- we ordered a half dozen oysters and the chicken liver pate. The drinks were also very creative and tasty. Then we both ordered different homemade pasta dishes - the spaccatelli and bucatini - both perfectly seasoned and portioned. We were shocked when our waiter then brought us a complimentary dessert! In all, between the food, cocktails, service, and ambiance, we can't wait to come back!"

  • "Steel and Rye provided an excellent, mouth-watering and unique menu, from smacks to appetizers to home-made pastas and main courses. The dessert list was also first-rate. The ambience was spectacular. Converted from an old warehouse or factory with large windows, it has a wonderfully textured environment with an open kitchen area, a very long and attractive bar, singles and drinks and also for families with a comfortable side area. The acoustics are not great; while thre noise level provides an attractive buzz, it is not easy to enjoy a quiet conversation, but that is not the reason perhaps that one would visit here. Also, after the sun set, it was a bit dark inside. . Yet, overall a fabulous dining experience with great service."

Not crowded, bloody was nice and spicy and their take on chipped beef of toast is legit. This will be my new go-to brunch spot."

  • "We made a reservation for a Friday night, to celebrate the birthday of a family member. Under Special Requests, we asked for a cupcake or slice of cake with a candle for the birthday. We really liked the beautifully designed space and vibrant atmosphere of Steel & Rye. The menu is not as original/creative as we'd hoped - mainstream New American, but quite ably executed. The big problem was the service. Very slow & unresponsive. We had to literally wave our arms & point at our empty glasses to get our wine order delivered. No mention of our special birthday request. Do they even read the e-reservations? The poor service cast a pall on the evening and we'll think twice about returning. Too bad, because Steel & Rye has a lot going for it."

  • "Had dinner with a friend. The restaurant is bustling even early in the evening. A 6:30 reservation and notice the entire restaurant seemed full. Friend had the burger and loved it. I had the swordfish and loved it. The tapioca pudding is luscious, would go back just for that. Staff friendly, our waiter was very soft spoken and difficult to hear over the room noise. Other than that we had a great time and will be back."

  • "This is our 2nd time coming to Steel and Rye. The first time we came with the kids and it was a great time and this time it was just my wife and I. The service and the food was fantastic. We ordered the oysters for an appetizer and had to order more immediately when we were done .....they were THAT GOOD!!!!! We have the lamb and the monk fish and both were excellent and full of flavor. The desserts were a fantatic ending with carrot cake and the banana's foster. The server was fantastic and was constantly checking in on us to see where we were with our food to be sure that everything was timed perfectly. I just love this place and would recommend it to everyone."

From the bread that was stale before our dinner arrived to the stale pizza, tasteless burgers, and pork and lobster pasta dish that tasted like Brillo Pad that probably cleaned the pan.   • "I live around the corner from steel an Rye and have been many times. I was quite tired of driving into Boston to find high quality food and was a bit apprehensive when it first opened, but it far exceeded my expectations. The food is amazing (and I'm quite picky), the drinks are wonderful, and I really can't say enough about the staff-they are amazing. The bar scene is very lively and fun. And the best part for me? It is adult but still extremely kid friendly! I really can't say enough good things. I thing it is even worth a trip from the city to come experience it."

  • "From the valet person on, we were amazed at how professional and friendly each staff member at Steele & Rye was. We went early Saturday around 5:15 for a quick early dinner ( reservation suggested) and had the best burger ever! Will definitely be going back to savor some of the interesting menue items. As owners of a small business I have to give my compliments to the management and owners for training and hiring such an impressive and outstanding staff!"

  • "I go to Steel and Rye quite often. It is one of 3 fine dining restaurants in town. Not only is it convenient but always a great experience. The staff there is nice, diverse and extremely accommodating. Very high service levels. The food menu is great, there's something for everyone. The wine list is great and the mixologists can concoct and mixed drink you can dream up. In the town of Milton, Steel and Rye is winning!"
