A word from Stecchino
Hailed by many as “Hell’s Kitchen’s best new restaurant,” Stecchino nails the basics: “great food at reasonable prices.” A lively staff serves sophisticated comfort food and “fantastic” hand-crafted cocktails, a “solid” wine-list and ten carefully selected beers on tap. Good music and classic movies playing silently on the TV create a comfortable setting for a group of friends or an intimate dinner for two.

Menu highlights: Chicken and Eggplant Parmesan, a selection of homemade pastas, fresh seafood, a New York strip Steak that would make a Steakhouse proud as well as a Steak salad served with the same cut of meat and an extensive appetizer menu that includes sliders, crab cakes and much more.

The brunch menu features citrus dipped French toast, a short rib hash that gets rave reviews and eggs benedict options that are “the best anywhere.”

We had just arrived by train to NYC- checked into room in Hell's Kitchen and ready to relax with good meal and drink- Not disappointed at all. We got chicken masala (best ever tasted) and chicken parmesan - Both dishes were mouth watering. We had several glasses of wine with that. Although it was not inexpensive; with a living social coupon for $50, we only had a small amount left to pay. The service was very good and over all a great experience, especially after a group of 4 left who had been somewhat loud. It would be hard to be real intimate; but if you are looking for a casual atmosphere and prioritize taste of food over ambiance, this is fantastic!

We went here for brunch before seeing Cabaret on Saturday afternoon. We told the waiter we had to be out at a specific time and he was very accommodating! The food was delicious. I got the sausage eggs benedict and my friend got the crab cake eggs benny. Both were great. We also got the deal for the unlimited brunch cocktails. They made a point to keep filling our mimosas up since we were in a time constraint! I would definitely go back here, it was a lovely time.

I reserved a table for my girlfriend's birthday dinner. I was a little worried for myself since I have Celiac's and need to eat a gluten-free diet. Once we got there I asked the waiter if there were any options for Gluten-Free eaters he went to the kitchen and asked. They ended up making me an amazing Gluten-Free pasta dish that was completely off the menu. It was the best gluten-free meal and Service I've ever had.

I've been here for brunch before. The food was great. Unfortunately, they watered down the menu and replaced the wonderful egg plant fries and sweet potato fries with "plantain chips"!? They serve you quickly and give you refills on the bellinis and mimosas. I wish they had one turkey option with the brunch. I don't eat pork, beef, or chicken. I loved the fries, but without the fries and with the salmon burger as my only other option, I probably won't go for brunch any more. However, if it weren't for my dietary restrictions, I'd be a regular.

So I came here yesterday for brunch, & I must say the place Is pretty cool.. They have an awesome painting of Roberto Benigni as soon as you enter.. It did take about 15 minutes before our waiter actually came over to bring water & introduce himself.. That was long in my opinion.. It was packed to the tee so I won't be too crazy over the slow service.. Food took over a half hour to come, & I had to ask my waiter what was the delay, & he told me the food will come any minute now, & oddly enough It did, It came maybe 2 minutes later.. I'd say Stecchino was a great dining experience & will be back soon..

Our server NEVER let our glasses for empty and the champagne to orange juice ration was EXCELLENT. Now, let's talk about the food! The Stecchino omelet was AMAZING..the eggs were fluffy; the Prosciutto was crisp and salty; the asparagus was crisp. And their breakfast potatoes were the BOMB! Seriously... Great place for Brunch!!

I learned about Stecchino from Open Table. We went there for lunch before a Wed. matinee at a 52nd St theater. We enjoyed it. They weren't crowded and we got wonderful attention. The food was delicious and the prices were great. This is not a tourist trap. I had the salmon burger with the eggplant fries. I loved it. My friends had salads. They were fresh and made when you order them, not sitting around already made. We know this because one at our table had restrictions and needed certain things removed from the salad. And they were. I will keep this place in mind for pre-theater meals.

The noise in a nearly empty restaurant was deafening. They turned the tvs up full-volume. We could not speak to each other. We asked that the volume be lowered a bit. The response was "it'll be over soon". Translation: suck it up, we don't care about your table. Once the tv FROM THE BAR was lowered (post sporting event - though this was the restaurant, not the bar), it got a bit better. The wine guy was nice and seemed pleased with the bottle I chose. It was quite good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed that. The food not so much. The appetizers were good and I'd return for small plates. But the main course was not good. Eggplant that cannot be cut with a knife? It should not be served to a customer. Will probably not return for dinner.

Certainly this place is not terrible. The drinks are tasty, the beer is cold, and the variety of food options is thorough. I saw the salmon burger on the menu and thought how could I go wrong. I wanted something hearty but not so greasy, plus it was not as expensive as the other things on the menu. The food came out promptly, so that was a plus. But my first bite (and all bites) were loaded with salt. I wonder if this was a packaged patty they just warmed up. The eggplant fries with which the dish was served, were very good, but they were extremely greasy. It was tasty, but might as well have been served at a fast food restaurant.

I went to Stecchino for brunch on Saturday with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed our experience here. They honored our reservation and we were seated quickly. Our food came out pretty fast and the bottomless brunch was certainly worth it as the service was great, especially considering how crowded they were. We shared the Piedmont burger and the pork burger and tried their regular fries and eggplant fries, all were really great and filling! The noise level was however very high, the restaurant was crowded and of course, as people drink more they become louder-but this is pretty common during brunch and the restaurant cannot control this. All in all, it was a good experience and I'm glad I tried this restaurant-would recommend to friends!

We went to Stecchino for an early dinner before strolling a short way to The Book of Mormon. The wait staff were attentive, the food was excellently prepared and the menu choices were wide enough to suit most palates. We selected dishes that would not sit like anchors during the show. They were light and tasty. We were very happy with all aspects and would love to go back for another dinner. But, as we live in Australia, that might be difficult.

I've been to Stecchino on more than one occasion, each time hoping my next visit will be better than the last. Alas, this is really just a spot to grab a quick bite or link up with friends during Happy Hour if you can't settle on anyplace else in busy Hells Kitchen. I ordered the salmon burger and swapped the eggplant fries with regular ones. A bit greasy, and it seemed that part of my bun was cold, almost as if it has previously been frozen and hadn't thawed enough in the toaster oven. Overall, ridiculously overpriced drinks and food given the mediocre quality and so-so service.

Had a 1:15 reservation for brunch orior to going to a 3 PM matinee. We ordered almost immediately after being seated so when the waiter said they were a bit backed up in the kitchen, we figured we'd be okay. However, when the food did not arrive after 45 mins, we spoke to the waiter & manager who were apologetic but it still took another 15 minutes to be served. My husband's eggs were lukewarm at best but we had to eat and run so we did not send them back. The noise level was deafening so don't go if you want to converse with more than one person. There are so many choices along Ninth Ave -no need to ever go back!

    DebiOco

After waiting too long for our reservation the hostess seated us without menus. She then seated others, with menus. We had to ask for a menu. At this point we realized she was either ignoring us or was the most flaky hostess we had ever encountered. Our server was mostly attentive, but it took quite a while for our drinks to arrive. We saw others, seated after us, getting drinks. We had a show to get to. Food was very good. Back at home I got an email that said “Stecchino has canceled your reservation". Someone either did this “by accident” or did not want us to get our points. Either way it is careless and unprofessional. No answer when I called to discuss this. I would strongly suggest avoiding this place.
