A word from Stecchino
Hailed by many as “Hell’s Kitchen’s best new restaurant,” Stecchino nails the basics: “great food at reasonable prices.” A lively staff serves sophisticated comfort food and “fantastic” hand-crafted cocktails, a “solid” wine-list and ten carefully selected beers on tap. Good music and classic movies playing silently on the TV create a comfortable setting for a group of friends or an intimate dinner for two.

Menu highlights: Chicken and Eggplant Parmesan, a selection of homemade pastas, fresh seafood, a New York strip Steak that would make a Steakhouse proud as well as a Steak salad served with the same cut of meat and an extensive appetizer menu that includes sliders, crab cakes and much more.

The brunch menu features citrus dipped French toast, a short rib hash that gets rave reviews and eggs benedict options that are “the best anywhere.”

Diner Reviews
  • "Ate on a Sunday night. More limited menu than our first visit a couple of months previously. Still, good variety on offer and friendly service. Only negative was waiter forgetting a dessert. Other than that the food was tasty and we would definitely return."

  • "Had a really nice time there, the poached eggs w/ salmon was awesome and the potatoes were perfectly crispy and delicious. The white wine that came with the brunch was fantastic and my friends and I had a blast watching world cup soccer game. Vibrant, fun, nice place."

  • "Good food. New server which can always have some challenges, but overall decent experience. The restaurant was "open air" the afternon that I ate there. It was very muggy, and I feel it was too warm to not close the doors and use the air conditioning."

  • "Stecchino is an absolute FIND for Brunch. Went there with a group of 6 and the Bottomless Brunch was truly a treat. Our server NEVER let our glasses for empty and the champagne to orange juice ration was EXCELLENT. Now, let's talk about the food! The Stecchino omelet was AMAZING..the eggs were fluffy; the Prosciutto was crisp and salty; the asparagus was crisp. And their breakfast potatoes were the BOMB! Seriously... Great place for Brunch!!"

  • "Music is kind of too loud, drinks are good. wait a little too long for the food. French Fries are wonderful."

  • "So I came here yesterday for brunch, & I must say the place Is pretty cool.. They have an awesome painting of Roberto Benigni as soon as you enter.. It did take about 15 minutes before our waiter actually came over to bring water & introduce himself.. That was long in my opinion.. It was packed to the tee so I won't be too crazy over the slow service.. Food took over a half hour to come, & I had to ask my waiter what was the delay, & he told me the food will come any minute now, & oddly enough It did, It came maybe 2 minutes later.. I'd say Stecchino was a great dining experience & will be back soon.."

  • "I learned about Stecchino from Open Table. We went there for lunch before a Wed. matinee at a 52nd St theater. We enjoyed it. They weren't crowded and we got wonderful attention. The food was delicious and the prices were great. This is not a tourist trap. I had the salmon burger with the eggplant fries. I loved it. My friends had salads. They were fresh and made when you order them, not sitting around already made. We know this because one at our table had restrictions and needed certain things removed from the salad. And they were. I will keep this place in mind for pre-theater meals."

  • "Unique cocktails and delicious Italian. You will not leave hungry the chicken franchese is fantastic! So is the ravioli with vodka sauce. Make sure to try the adult root beer float for an alcoholic treat."

  • "Good foods and ambience all around. I ate the chopped salad with added chicken. Very good."

  • "The noise in a nearly empty restaurant was deafening. They turned the tvs up full-volume. We could not speak to each other. We asked that the volume be lowered a bit. The response was "it'll be over soon". Translation: suck it up, we don't care about your table. Once the tv FROM THE BAR was lowered (post sporting event - though this was the restaurant, not the bar), it got a bit better. The wine guy was nice and seemed pleased with the bottle I chose. It was quite good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed that. The food not so much. The appetizers were good and I'd return for small plates. But the main course was not good. Eggplant that cannot be cut with a knife? It should not be served to a customer. Will probably not return for dinner."

  • "Certainly this place is not terrible. The drinks are tasty, the beer is cold, and the variety of food options is thorough. I saw the salmon burger on the menu and thought how could I go wrong. I wanted something hearty but not so greasy, plus it was not as expensive as the other things on the menu. The food came out promptly, so that was a plus. But my first bite (and all bites) were loaded with salt. I wonder if this was a packaged patty they just warmed up. The eggplant fries with which the dish was served, were very good, but they were extremely greasy. It was tasty, but might as well have been served at a fast food restaurant."

  • "This place was excellent. I could not be more happy to have found and dined at this place. The food my friend and I ate was one of the best meals we have ever had in the city. She and I could not stop talking about and will definitely recommend Stecchino to our friends and family. Our waitress was very attentive and one of the managers as well. We appreciated their service."

  • "Loved the food and service was great! Only one complaint--the wait time. We had a reservation for 12:30 pm but were not seated until after 1 pm--that's not good when you have had a reservation for weeks."

  • "Great brunch item selections.Food presentation and quality very good.Service is good but since they are busy sometimes there is a brief wait for servers."

  • "We went to Stecchino for an early dinner before strolling a short way to The Book of Mormon. The wait staff were attentive, the food was excellently prepared and the menu choices were wide enough to suit most palates. We selected dishes that would not sit like anchors during the show. They were light and tasty. We were very happy with all aspects and would love to go back for another dinner. But, as we live in Australia, that might be difficult."

  • "I went to Stecchino for brunch on Saturday with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed our experience here. They honored our reservation and we were seated quickly. Our food came out pretty fast and the bottomless brunch was certainly worth it as the service was great, especially considering how crowded they were. We shared the Piedmont burger and the pork burger and tried their regular fries and eggplant fries, all were really great and filling! The noise level was however very high, the restaurant was crowded and of course, as people drink more they become louder-but this is pretty common during brunch and the restaurant cannot control this. All in all, it was a good experience and I'm glad I tried this restaurant-would recommend to friends! "

  • "I love the unlimited brunch here. It's always a good time with my honey and when we come here with friends. I think the quality of the steak in the steak and eggs has gone down, but I got the maple sausage eggs Benedict and it was fantastic. "

  • "I've been to Stecchino on more than one occasion, each time hoping my next visit will be better than the last. Alas, this is really just a spot to grab a quick bite or link up with friends during Happy Hour if you can't settle on anyplace else in busy Hells Kitchen. I ordered the salmon burger and swapped the eggplant fries with regular ones. A bit greasy, and it seemed that part of my bun was cold, almost as if it has previously been frozen and hadn't thawed enough in the toaster oven. Overall, ridiculously overpriced drinks and food given the mediocre quality and so-so service. "

  • "Each time when I've called to follow up I'm told '"we didn't d know if you had a coupon". I asked the hostess several time to please check us in, as we were seated near the front waiting for friends to arrive and their computer was visible. The hostess kept responding "ok"."

  • "Had a 1:15 reservation for brunch orior to going to a 3 PM matinee. We ordered almost immediately after being seated so when the waiter said they were a bit backed up in the kitchen, we figured we'd be okay. However, when the food did not arrive after 45 mins, we spoke to the waiter & manager who were apologetic but it still took another 15 minutes to be served. My husband's eggs were lukewarm at best but we had to eat and run so we did not send them back. The noise level was deafening so don't go if you want to converse with more than one person. There are so many choices along Ninth Ave -no need to ever go back!"

  • "After waiting too long for our reservation the hostess seated us without menus. She then seated others, with menus. We had to ask for a menu. At this point we realized she was either ignoring us or was the most flaky hostess we had ever encountered. Our server was mostly attentive, but it took quite a while for our drinks to arrive. We saw others, seated after us, getting drinks. We had a show to get to. Food was very good. Back at home I got an email that said “Stecchino has canceled your reservation". Someone either did this “by accident” or did not want us to get our points. Either way it is careless and unprofessional. No answer when I called to discuss this. I would strongly suggest avoiding this place."

  • "The food was good but we were finally seated at 3:30 even with having a 2:30 reservation. They couldn't handle the high volume of people on Saturday for brunch. We had a pulsd deal and they charged tax and tip according to their regular brunch prices, not our deal. The manager did give us a round of free drinks to compensate, but still very unorganized."

  • "We were very happy to find Stecchino's; good location, nice busy atmosphere without being too loud. We had the Branzino, it was delicious. Service was great. We thought the portions were a little small and would have liked a salad to come with entree but overall, we enjoyed. Good wine list."

  • "We enjoyed our evening at Stecchino. Food was quite good but a bit on the heavy side...beware - large portions. Bartendar has a great reputation as a mixologist but the one I ordered was just too strong to even drink, swapped cocktails with the hub and we were good to go. Overall it was good."

  • "Went to restaurant anticipating the brunch menu and the caramelized onion and feta cheese flatbread.. However, the brunch menu was only available on the weekend and not the Monday holiday. A mistake by assumption. When arrived was told no longer offered several items including the flatbreads; this was not indicated on the restaurant's website or the one viewed on Opentable. Very disappointing."

  • "Good was good as was service however lunch menu was very limited not like the menu posted. Mostly breakfast food and not too many options. Having said that we fully enjoyed our meal and mimosas! Would go back again perhaps for lunch or dinner. Great location for theater outing!"

  • "I've been to Stecchino before and the food and drinks were great! This time however, I was a little disappointed. They were incredibly busy, so they may have been overwhelmed. I asked for my burger medium and it came out well done and the Bloody Mary's were terrible. All you could taste was tobasco. I couldn't drink the first so I asked for another and it was the same thing. I guess they made a huge batch and didn't bother to check the balance of the ingredients."

  • "We visited on Valentine's Day, that was not the occasion we were celebrating however - I was disappointed that they only had a small pre-fixed menu so it was very limited and very average at best; don't get me wrong, the food was tasty but felt more conveyer belt kitchen food than a foodie spot .... the service was excellent...great location and nice energy in the restaurant. I will try again on a non-holiday! I was a little disappointed that when making the reservation with OpenTable we noted that we were celebrating a special occasion there was absolutely no mention of it by the restaurant...over all the food was tasty but nothing spectacular"

  • "We've been to this place a few times now and each time it continues to be excellent. The food is fantastic, and the servers are friendly and on point. Can't recommend this place enough. If you go here for brunch, definitely order something with the home fries. They are the best I've had anywhere!"
