We were greeted and seated by the owner, which was a plus. Our server was outstanding with care and presence at just the right times. I am very particular about my steaks and don't seem to have much luck with restaurants cooking them right. But to my surprise my steak was perfectly done as ordered. We shared some appetizers and side dishes. I was a little disappointed in some of them however. The mozzarella and prosciutto, my favorite, was actually served heated which I did not enjoy. Our sides of scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese and asparagus were good, but nothing to shout about.

I ordered a steak (yum) and it was perfectly prepared (the exact right temperature) and presented. My companion had the stuffed shrimp which she claimed was marvelous! The service was attentive, informative and professional, but not fauning. The only disappointment was the Bananas Foster dessert. It was melted and the bananas were nearly non-existent. The restaurant has a nice, relaxed atmosphere and the wait staff are friendly and professional. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the tuna tartare, petite filet mignon, mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and the bananas foster for dessert. It is pricey, therefore I would really recommend it for special occasions. My boyfriend and I split the tuna tartar as an appetizer, which was incredible. He ordered the mashed potatoes and the regular filet mignon as his entree. The potatoes were silky and delicious, while the steak was tender and succulent. I ordered the crab encrusted Florida grouper. My entree came with wilted spinach in a white wine and caper sauce. It was to die for. Furthermore, both portions were extremely generous. Has the best burgers and steaks in New Jersey! A bit pricy, but worth the money for special occasions. I like the side dishes, such as mashed Yukon and sweet potato casserole. Professional friendly waiters and waitresses aim to please and are attentive without being overbearing. I know it's contrary to a "good" review, but I'm at a loss for words; the food was amazing, the service was highly attentive, and the particular Saturday evening I was there had a live jazz band performing, which really filled out the ambiance of an already outstanding establishment. Some may balk at the price tag of the night, but it's an experience truly worth every penny. Get dressed up, and take your spouse here! You'll both have a blast. Know someone with a birthday coming up? Hint that Steakhouse 85 is the place to be. Basically, do whatever you have to in order to try this restaurant out. Our reservation was honored almost immediately and we sat right by the fireplace. Our server was wonderful. All three of us had the petite filet, which was very tasty and we shared the yukon mashed potatoes and brussel sprout sides...all delicious. Although it is an excellent steakhouse, they have a great choice of seafood in both appetizers and entrees. The sides are out of this world. Try the truffle Tater Tots and the Mac-n-cheese. The bar seemed to be hopping and the live music was great. Our waitor was on the money. He was very helpful and really knew his stuff. It is a bit pricey but worth it. The staff was friendly and the waiter was very knowledgeable. Parking was exceptionally easy as there is a parking garage directly across the street. Now on to the food. The bacon appetizer was fabulous, but to be honest I thought the steak would be better. I love steak. Now I didn't think that it would be as good as a Peter Lugers Steakhouse, but I thought it would be on par with say a Delmonicos is Las Vegas. But it was not. Dont get me wrong, the steak was good, I got the Tomahawk chop which is their dry aged bone in rib chop, but I was expecting better. Overall I would go there again and give them another shot.
