From the outside you are not expecting it to be an elegant steakhouse but once you walk inside you see it! The service was great and the food was outstanding. WITHOUT a DOUBT order a steak. You do not need any of the sauces/butters to order with it. If you order one order just one per table, there is plenty! The steak was cooked perfectly without them having to ask me how i want it cooked. I would recommend this to anyone who is in aspen or going. My Kobe filet was outstanding. My husband 8oz prime filet was wonderful as well. It was very flavorful, prepared perfectly and presented nicely in a cast iron skillet. As with most steak houses, everything is a la carte. The sides were big enough for 2 but not really anything special. We had the onion rings which were average. The truffled scallop potatoes were nice but a little dry. The creamed spinach was OK too but not as good as my favorite Five Crowns in Orange County. Overall, an outstanding steak. We've been there several times and the steaks are always cooked as ordered, tender, and delicious. The tuna tartar appetizer is one of the best we've ever had, anywhere! Every side dish is fantastic and even the fish entres are exceptional. A word of WARNING about the bread pudding dessert: the thing is the size of a brick! It was very decadent, but we ended up taking a pound of it home and finishing it off over the course of two days. One order of 316's bread pudding could easily feed a table of four adults. We found the food to be excellent! All our meat was cooked to perfection, just as we had ordered it. The "Rack of wild boar" special was outstanding! The side dishes were equally good(Brussel sprouts, carrots, whipped potatoes) and we loved the house-made steak sauce. The wine list was extensive but I was a bit disappointed there wasn't a sommelier there to assist with making a selection. While the service was technically good, it could definitely use some refinement. Next time I will request a table away from door & loud music from bar.1/10/2013 12:00:00 AMgreatthe best steak! my boyfriend and I have visited steak house no 16 after our experience in many times awarded steakhouse in western australia called char char bull. we considered char char as the best steakhouse we have tried till we ate steaks at no16. it was absolutely out of the planet. steaks, but also sides were just great. food was worth the prices.
