  • "We were on our way to a weekend of wine tasting in Los Olivos...stopped here for a late lunch and LOVED it! It was cozy, quaint and still modern and eclectic at the same time. Staff was very friendly and food was excellent. Hubby had the vegetarian chili and almost had to wrestle me to keep it. It came on the lunch menu paired with a steak/beef sandwich and he loved it. I had the kale salad with 1/2 sandwich and it was great. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing afternoon on State St."

  • "Love the menu, which has plenty of interesting organic, vegetarian and gluten-free choices. The table bread was superlative. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my cup of chili (a big cup) which was the other stand-out for me, while my caprese sandwich was very good and my wife thought her gluten-free pasta was tasty. And since we were there on a weekday at happy hour, we conveniently got our glasses of wine at a nice discount from the regular prices. Definitely worth returning!"

My colleague from Belgium marveled at the quality of both the food and service, which was neither too hovering nor too aloof. In short, I highly recommend this terrific restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food and wine, and the experience that accompanies it."

  • "We loved the beet and arugula salad. We presumed it would be a pleasant enough dish, but we were blown away by the arugula "slaw" (for lack of a better analogy). I couldn't put down the fork! Every flavor burst to the fore then subsided to let another take the spotlight. Fantastic. Then the grilled fare was sublime. Perfect wine pairings and an outdoor ambience that we both appreciated and craved. Well done. We'll be back…but not soon enough."

  • "Just moved to SB from Oregon, where Farm to Table is, well, you've seen Portlandia. We came to the Wine Bistro after a day of wine tasting, and have to say it's my new fav place in SB! The quality of the food blew us all away, as did the friendly staff who were attentive and incredibly accomodating. The food selection was terrific, something for everyone, and is flexible enough to cater to a variety of dietary needs/restriction. I am celiac and was actually surprised to see several delicious gluten free options that were not just salads! Very unique, tasty, and simple dishes yet very elegant without being pretensious. The wine selection was excellent as well. I will definitely come back again and again and again."
