  The staff at the Ahwahnee was amazing! Our reservation was for 8:30pm (only available) & I requested if possible a seat not in the center of the room (usually hard for my husband to hear), as we would be celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. We arrived early, & after walking around the hotel it occured to me that maybe there had been a cancellation for an earlier spot. I spoke to the hostess & she said that they had several and might be able to get us in early. We went & changed, came back & was seated within 15 minutes, almost 2 hours ahead of our reservation. Not only did they give us a window seat, but he could see Half Dome through the entire dinner. The food was great, the service was impeccable! Fabulous for a special occasion!...More

  I searched here on OpenTable for someplace new to try for our annual Memorial Day trek to Mammoth. Whitebark sounded good so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. First, the food was delicious. I had the Scallops and she had the pork loin. Neither of us wanted to share, it was so good. We also had an bottle excellent of Siduri Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir. We finished with berry chocolate mousse - yum. The service was casual but attentive. We had a nice window table, but the view of the Village is nothing special. All-in-all we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Whitebark....More
