    We've been to Va de Vi more than 20 times and it is our favorite. It was our first visit with the new chef. We "graze", enjoying each dish thoroughly. Usually, we have engaging and knowledgeable servers Today, Father's Day,we sat at Nichole R's table. She must think that she works at Denny's with a goal of turning over the tables as fast as possible. In addition, she clearly didn't know either the menu or the wine list. How can tHat be at Va de Vi? Tuna tartare was outstanding. Rock shrimp lumpia was not as warm as usual. Short ribs were terrific and desert sampler was good except for the strawberry shortcake that was not notable. We had the Pom frites, just because, and they were poorly prepared....More

    We took my husband to brunch for Fathers Day (on Sunday) and it was amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves. We didn't realize brunch started at 10am though, and we had 9:30am reservations (for breakfast only)... so we had to wait a little bit before we could hit the brunch line. No worries though, we sipped mimosas and had good conversation. ;) The food was very fresh and very good. We stuffed ourselves and kept going back. My favorite was the waffles. Amazing desserts too. We will definitely be returning!...More

    Took my Dad here for Father's Day. He loves steak and he enjoyed his filet mignon for sure as he finished it all with his baked potato and French onion soup. Nice wine list on the Ipad. I was able to find my Dad a nice glass of zin from Nichel & Nichol (sp?) winery. My Mom enjoyed her prime rib - it was too big so she had to take 1/2 home. I had the filet Oscar which was different with the sauce and Dungeness crab. A nice place to take someone for a special dinner. There were families there celebrating Father's Day so I'd say well behaved kids are fine as they'd enjoy the steak if they like steak....More
