Amazing Food (and GLUTEN FREE!)As I have celiac disease, it is very hard to find restaurants that offer as large of a gluten free menu as this place did. Our food was absolutely delicious! From the oysters, to the soup, to the entrees, we were beyond pleased. My husband even stated that one of his most favorite part of our visit to Sonoma was the dinner at Stark's Steak and Seafood! The only negative thing I would state is that the outside of the restaurant was a little misleading. When we pulled up the area looked a little shady, and the restaurant did not look like the high end restaurant that we thought. We actually almost turned around and didn't go in. However, the outside was very deceiving and the inside was beautiful. Moved to the dining room for a nice dinner, me and my husband love the mood and the food here every time. Hubs had the chicken under a brick, may just be the best chicken ever. I had the butterfish, which was also devine.
The sommeleir picked a great non-oaky chardonnay.

Great drinks, great appetizers, a steakhouse that easily ranks as high as Flemings and Ruth Chris. Unfortunately, the only way I could afford to go to Stark's is during restaurant week. Even during restaurant week our tab for 4 and we brought our own wine was over $230, not including tip. Only extras was an appetizer and coffee with dessert.

Also have free corkage for up to 2 bottles of wine, which is a big plus. Steaks done to perfection, and have a choice of either choice or prime meat. You could not ask for better staff. The food is good- not great, very inconsistent as evidenced by our meal. We had ribeye and baked potatoes. The steak was delicious, but the potatoes were hard and dry. Not sure how you ruin baked potatoes, but they were not good. The mushroom soup I had was fabulous- I could eat bowl's full of it, but then dessert was only so so. A warm chocolate souffle cake with ice cream. The cake was very dry. This seems to be a theme- anything baked is going to be dried out! I'm not sure we will come back. The cocktail lounge has an exciting menu and is worthy of a visit as a stand-alone occasion. The steakhouse menu is what you would expect, but the ingredients come from the finest quality sources and are infused with excellence. The wine list is respectable with big, exciting Bordeaux wines from Alexander Valley and elsewhere. We had the BEST service and my water glass was NEVER empty (I LOVE that!). We had way too much food for two; I recommend a group of four, especially if you want to try the delicious array of side dishes they have. I do not like oysters, myself but saw many people enjoying them in the bar.
