Service and food were excellent.
Ordered Peppercorn Steak and Prime Rib, both were cooked perfectly. Both were large portions.
Medium size PR was of course more expensive than the small, and the Steak was about $40.
At first bite, the Prime Rib seemed a bit too salty (oven roasted with Kosher (?) salt.
But there was no excessive fat and the meat was very tasty.

Other tables around us seemed to have faster service so this may have been a server problem.

My mom and sister had salmon and rockfish, and both were wild caught and delicious. I had organic roasted chicken with risotto and it was very good. My son enjoyed the kid's salmon, and had fun with his coloring and activity sheet. The restaurant still serves their signature pea salad, it just does not appear on the menu. Key lime pie and some sort of superb chocolate cake finished our meals. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The staff was all very friendly. We had a relaxing meal-90 minutes on a Friday without being rushed. The wait staff was proficient, courteous, swift and unobtrusive. He made several recommendations which we enjoyed. The food was wonderful, hot and very tasteful. Many years ago it was the one of a handful of places in Tacoma you would go to for a romantic date. I took my future wife there for dinner on our first date. They had to chase us out at closing time. Tacoma's restaurant selection has improved dramatically since then but Stanley's is always the place of choice for special occasions and important business lunches. That is why returning there this week to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary was a natural. The staff didn't have to chase us out at closing this time, but the experience was just as delightful. Our service was outstanding: attentive but not obtrusive. Our food was wonderful: the wedge salad was so fresh and the filet melted in your mouth. The atmosphere was relaxed and we love the view. I must say that our waitress Kristy was awesome! She was so friendly and helpful when we had questions, so attentive; I couldn't say enough nice things about her. She helped in making the evening special. The personal service provided by staff is beyond wonderful. A special Thanks to our routine waiter Terry. He changed his schedule & came in earlier than his scheduled shift, just to help celebrate my birthday this past Saturday. He always remembers my favorite drink, Vanilla Blue Sky Martini, & has it ready for me without asking. The hostess greeted my party by name and sat us down immediately. The little extra touches and personalized service makes customers feel welcomed, appreciated, and that staff really cares about their customers. We were truly not disappointed, as both our server and Scott, the magic behind the bar, bent over backwards to explain the port and help us understand the differences in those two experiences. The port flight was dessert, so I have to speak to the rest of the meal as well: British Columbia salmon stuffed with crab and served over garlic smashed Yukon Gold potatoes and steamed green beans...just perfect with the Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay we paired with it. The food was great (but not cheap), the service was good and the view was great. I think they could have cleared the empty plates a bit sooner but other than that it was a very enjoyable evening.

The food was very flavorful, and was served with a luxurious presentation. I had the prime rib on this particular night, which was in my opinion, perfect, but I can't go on without mentioning the lobster bisque...I was saddened when the bottom of the dish was visible. Haha. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. Upon entering, the staff catered to us with a sense of urgency and quickly showed us to our table which was already waiting by the big beautiful windows. All staff members greeted us in a very pleasant manner while allowing a certain space, we both felt like special guests.
