  • "Service and food were excellent. Christy our waitperson was excellent. She was very friendly and attentive to our needs."

  • "Hello...My family party of 5 really enjoyed our meal at S and S. We were greeted and seated immediately on arrival. The food was good, the waitress was excellent, the wait time was appropriate. We enjoyed the view and the quiet of the restaurant (we were there 2:30 - 4:00). Each member of our party had different entrees and desserts. All were excellent and generous. We have dined at S and S many times and will return many times. And the birthday "girl" really enjoyed her complimentary creme brulee. Joanne Thompson"

  • "The night got off to a rough start...it was raining hard but the valet area was full, the waiter spilled ice water on one of the gentleman in our party right after we were seated and the first drink order had to be revised after we were told they were sold out of the bottle of wine we wanted. Our second choice turned out to be excellent though. The food was fantastic (appreciated the great vegetarian option) and our server was friendly but for cost of dinner our overall experience was underwhelming."

  • "Our waitress was hilarious, her recommendations were delicious and we ordered everything she recommended. She was very funny when my husband showed his ID for his drink he gave her his state ID not military and I believe because of my comment about him being in the military when i set up my reservation she remembered said she saw his military ID when he took out his wallet and told us about the 20% discount. He was dumbfounded because he said he was covering it up LOL. We had such a great night at your restaurant and I ended up giving the waitress the 20% plus normal tip anyway because I really enjoyed her :)"

  • "I have passed the Stanley & Seafort's restaurant and was always intrigued to go. I told myself eventually I would find a reason to go and assumed it would likely be best saved for a special occasion or a "date night" with my husband where we would find ourselves in Tacoma for one reason or another. That time finally came for my 41st birthday. My husband took my large hint and bought me tickets to a concert being held at EQC -- somewhere we had never been either. We decided we would also stay in Tacoma rather than drive home and when my husband asked where I would like to have dinner, my answer was immediate. My expectations were exceeded - the food, service, and ambience were terrific and it was the perfect start to my evening."

  • "Been going here for years and keep going back. There have been a couple small "glitches" during that time but overall I recommend Stanleys as a good place for a meal with friends and a the wait staff is efficient and friendly. 'Happy hour' is a good time to try it out if you dont mind a bit of a wait at times."

  • "Stanley's and Seafort's has been a favorite of ours for over ten years. Though they have gone through changes in staffing, chefs, menus, etc., they continue to delight. a few bumps but nothing to run us away from almost always having a great dinner and dining experience. Thank you Stanley's and Seafort's."

  • "Went hear for our anniversary. Back in it's hay day this may have been a happening spot for fine dining but now it is overpriced and not so fine. Our server was exceptional. Kimberly did a fine job of taking care of our needs. We had the artichoke and crab dip for an appetizer which was recommended and it was fishy and not so good. Fishy tasting crab in my world means it is either old or imitation. Our entrees were prime rib which is apparently the house specialty. The meat was cooked to temperature and a good portion but essentially tasted like roast beef. It was served with mashed potatoes (really) and overcooked zucchini. The bar was dirty and we watched a server box up leftovers for his own use. Not my idea of fine dining."

  • "I always like to have a drink prior to a nice dinner. I made a reservation for 5pm. We arrived early to enjoy a drink prior to our reservation time. All of the tables at the bar were full so we waited by the bar for 20 minutes before we gave up and sat in the lobby to wait for our name to be called. Once we were seated at our table we waited another 25 minutes to receive our drinks. Our server let us know he hadn't forgotten about us, just that the bartender was super busy due to the high volume of guests, he told us he felt sorry for the bartender. He gave 3 excuses as to why the restaurant was so busy. The restaurant knew in advance they would be busy and did not prepare accordingly to ensure we would enjoy our experience."

  • "The food was "fine" Nothing too wonderful but not bad at all. However, the place was packed - good for business I know. That might have been since it was the end of a promotion with triple points. BUT.....our poor waiter ran his legs off! Not his fault that we waited for food."

  • "Stanley and Seafort's has been a part of Tacoma for a number of years now and they have never let us down when it comes to the quality of their food and service. They have a good selection on the lunch menu...something for everyone. They have the best Creme Brulee ever!"

  • "I ordered the lunch special, which was blackened salmon on salad dressed in huckleberry vinaigrette, with candied walnuts and blue cheese. The walnuts and blue cheese were hard to spot in the salad (almost nonexistent) and the dressing was sadly unremarkable, but the salmon was tasty and perfectly cooked. It ended up being a piece of salmon on lettuce leaves, and was rather insubstantial. My companion raved about her clam chowder and half a sandwich, and felt both were outstanding. The service was superb and the view was great."

  • "We have been S & S regulars, way back...to when it was "Walter N's" and that is WAY back. I (Chuck) am coming now for lunch meetings with two buddies and we always arrive early so we can sit at Suzanne's table. Dinner also with my bride of 60 years. We still enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, the great foods coming out of that kitchen."

  • "For a server who has been with the restaurant "27 years", she sure had difficulty managing her tables! Once our meal was over, it took another 45 min. To get the bill, which arrived wrong. While there were two family bills, she charged our bill for our friend's 2 martins! Awkward! We let it go, thinking she seemed tired and just flabbergasted by having to do two checks, however, on the way out, she whispered to our friend, "Don't worry about the martini"....as if she paid for it, instead of billing it to our check.....bad form. This experience makes us reluctant to return after 20 years of "S and S" being our go- to place, especially with out of town guests!"

  • "Best dining view I've experienced while living in Tacoma. Staff put in extra effort for the special occasion we were there for and treated us to their delicious burnt creme! I'll be going back for the next occasion!"

  • "This was our second year celebrating my husband's birthday there, and I feel that this experience was just as good as our first but not better. They were exttremely busy around 7:30 p.m. when we checked in for our 8 p.m. reservation. They seated us about 30 minutes past our reservation time, but the manager took care of us by comping an appetizer. Our food also seemed to come out a bit slow, but we fortunately did not have any plans after dinner, so we enjoyed the pace. My husband also got to enjoy his favorite dessert (Crème brûlée) on the house since it was his birthday without having to suffer the embarrassment of the staff singing and making a big deal, which he really appreciated. All in all, it was an experience we will repeat."

  • "Fabulous view of the city, in light or dark. Noisy. Very nice staff at all steps. The food however, was mediocre overall. Fresh oysters and the Boar shank were good; drinks were good. Rockfish with crab served on while mashed potatoes was bland; the Etouffee was not as our guest usually has it (it was not a "stew or liquid.); Calamari just so-so (and who serves them with tartar sauce?" It just seemed "so Tacoma" (not up to scale, not great, no "wow" factor) which I hate to say since we love this town but it's just not even worth considering going back. Maybe for drinks and appetizers but not for dinner. Can't you do better RUI?"

  • "The parking space was limited and the server tended to be on the slow response side. However, the food, ambiance, and view more than compensate. The Lavendar Cosmo is to die for! All in all, a worthwhile experience."

  • "We went for a birthday celebration, the ambiance was so gorgeous. The view spoke for itself, food was great. It wasn't the best food I have had it was the best experience."

  • "For years this has been my special occasion restaurant of choice but it has diminished slowly over time. Had a very bad experience this last time and won't be back. Maybe just an off night. It took a very long time to get food including appetizers. Busy, but not extremely so. Toward the end the others in the group suggested just paying for what we had gotten so far and grabbing a burger somewhere. I had reservations, was on time, and had the number of people I had reserved for. Took right at 90 minutes to get our main course. The wait person did the best they could and I tipped fully, didn't want to stiff anyone, but it was not a great night at the restaurant. Great view and surroundings as always."

  • "I made a last minute reservation and was amazed at how accommodating they were when I also requested a window table. We went to celebrate my husbands upcoming Birthday and our server Kimberle was wonderful. From the wine, to the view, the food to the complimentary desert everything was awesome! Kimberle was attentive without being overbearing or annoying. We never had to wait for drinks, water or anything. I can't wait to go back and try something else off of the menu. This was our second time and so far we have loved everything we tried including the wine. It can get a little chilly if you sit in the bar but this time we sat in the dining room and it was warm and lovely. We plan on going back within the next two weeks."

  • "Stanley's has a great view of Tacoma and the food is always good. Their happy hour is good; although it can be difficult to get into the bar as it's really popular. We had dinner last Saturday night and both of our dinners were really good and the service was excellent. My only complaint that it felt somewhat hectic in the restaurant (to be fair it was Sat night), but our table location may have contributed to this as well. My advice is to make a reservation and ask for a table near the window."

  • "I have lived in the area for over 10 years but finally had lunch here 2+ years after I moved out of the area! I really enjoyed the view and the service and appreciated that my request for a window table on line was able to be filled. Prices were a bit high for lunch. My friend and I had 1 alcoholic beverage, she had the French Dip, I had the soup and sandwich combo, each of us had coffee and we split a Burnt Cream; total was about $60 without tip! I will go again but be ready for the high prices!"

  • "My last visit was the second time in as many times that I had to complain about the poor food. This time the steak was cold, the shrimp were like rubber (overcooked) and luke warm, the asparagus was fine and the potatoes were steaming hot........Not an optimal plate of food. The time before the last, the steak I ordered "medium rare" was close to crispy...and this was a Filet Mignon. I would not refer this restaurant to anyone I would call a friend. Very poor food for the price. Applebees has better food............and MUCH better prices."
