Stanley & Seafort'sA great meal and serviceWe had the "spicy ahi tacos" and was okay, but would not order again. It had good flavor but was not what I expected. Their starter salads are superb, very fresh and flavorful. We had the jumbo prawns, delish-the copper river salmon-very delish. The potatoes were flavorful and the asparagus just right. For dessert we tried the creme brulee, the chocolate mousse and the bread pudding-all scrumptious. Their wine by the glass selection was very good and the prices reasonable. Kathy was our server and she was very nice and well-knowledged about the menu.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst but Fine, mighty fine.It definitely is busy and it took us aback momentarily on arrival. However our waiter was fun, knowledgeable and ahead of every thought we may be conjuring up. He was personable.
The food was every bit as good as we had been expecting. Flavors were as written. The baked rockafeller oysters were worth coming back for as an entree another time.
Our arm was gently twisted for the creme brulee and we are so pleased it was.
We would come again.

This has always been one of our favorite places and once again, they did not disappoint. We had reservations for 6:45, but got there early and were able to find a table in the bar without too much trouble. The crab cakes I had were delicious and full of big chunks of crab - just like they should be. Even though they were crazy busy with the pre-concert crowd, the service was still very good, and the wait staff friendly. My only regret was my poor choice in shoes, for the walk up and down the hill to the Tacoma Dome. Service and food were excellent.
Ordered Peppercorn Steak and Prime Rib, both were cooked perfectly. Both were large portions.
Medium size PR was of course more expensive than the small, and the Steak was about $40.
At first bite, the Prime Rib seemed a bit too salty (oven roasted with Kosher (?) salt.
But there was no excessive fat and the meat was very tasty.

Many years ago it was the one of a handful of places in Tacoma you would go to for a romantic date. I took my future wife there for dinner on our first date. They had to chase us out at closing time. That is why returning there this week to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary was a natural. The staff didn't have to chase us out at closing this time, but the experience was just as delightful.
