I have had several very good lunch experiences at Stanford's; this was my first dinner experience. The hospitality, service and ambience were all excellent. I was, however, a bit disappointed in the quality of the food. I chose the pork tenderloin from the "specials menu," so expected it to be top quality. The food was "warm" at best and, because of attending a concert, I didn't have time to send it back. The quality of the meat cut was mediocre; the vegetables and potatoes were average. Truly disappointed.

I particularly like Stanford's because the interior design and layout allows for both large group tables and quiet areas for 2 or 4 people to have quiet almost private conversation.

The best part of the evening were the people. Staff were attentive and accommodating. The ambiance is mostly like a popular 1960's era steak house once you are past the entry area. Two different entree salads were well received as was a small dinner salad and slice of pizza. Unfortunately my serving of "Columbia River Steelhead" was a flavorless 3" X 3" square of overcooked fish plopped on top a a scoop of cheesy rice with no other side dish or garnish on the plate at all. Shared deserts were the best part of the meal. I have indicated that I would recommend Stanford's Southcenter to a friend, I would limit my recommendations to the salads and deserts.

The greeter was great. But after that things were so so. Food was ok. The cream spinach was great. The steak was no better than Outback. Service was not so great. The order of bread did not make it to the the table until dinner was over. Out of five stars I give it a two.

This was a birthday celebration and the waitress took great care of us. There were four of us and we all loved our dinners. The ribs fell off the bone, the halibut was perfect and the chicken was yummy! They also made a great mojito.

We have eaten at Stanford's for many years - usually for dinner. For a while we quit eating there because the service at dinner was so awful. But in the last year or so the dinner service has dramatically improved. So we eat there frequently again for dinner. However, it appears that the service at lunch has not improved at all. I visited twice for lunch this week, and both times the service was slow and inattentive, although the restaurant was not very busy when we were there. If you're on a tight lunch break this would NOT be the place to visit for lunch. Hopefully they will improve their lunchtime service like they improved their dinner service.

Celebrated a birthday and ordered Prime Rib x 2, a Rib Eye and Top Sirloin. Sent 1 Prime Rib back as it was ordered medium rare and came out very rare. Sent the Top Sirloin back because it was too rare. Prime Rib #2 was cooked correctly, didn't go back, but was very tough to chew, didn't even eat half of it. If you are looking for bar food, great ambiance and super friendly service - great choice. But I certainly wouldn't choose this restaurant for a celebration or expensive steak dinner, wasn't work the $200 for 4 people.

I've been here a few times and food is generally pretty good. On my most recent visit the steak was sadly inconsistent however. Two steaks were ordered, both medium rare, yet only one came out cooked properly and the other was much closer to medium well. It was upsetting that the chef would overcook such a nice cut of steak, but because the sauce was AMAZING and could cover up the mistake, I didn't send the plate back (much to my dining partner's disappointment). Overall I enjoy the food and the bartender makes great drinks!

Overseas guests here in August 2014 wanted to experience an American steak house restaurant, and Stanford's certainly fit the bill! They were terrific about accommodating our large (12-person) group that included children, seating us all together in a relatively private area. Classy decor. Lots of regional wines and beers on the drink menu. Excellent food -- the onion ring tower appetizer was visually impressive and great for sharing. The steaks were done to perfection. No room for dessert! Friendly and efficient service. An all-round enjoyable evening. Thanks!

We always enjoy Stanford's and frequently invite friends to meet us there because of the convenient location and pleasant ambiance. This time, there were problems. My grilled salmon salad arrived with a cold, dry piece of fish. We arrived at 11:30 a.m. and did not actually eat until almost 1 p.m. Since we had invited friends as our guests who hadn't visited before, it was disappointing. We will come back, hoping for the service and food that we had come to expect. Maybe it was just a bad day this time.

Big Disappointment. First the waitress forgot to put in the order for the appetizer. So we cancelled the order but then it still came after like 10 mins. The prime rib I had was dried. I talked to the waitress and she was sending the manager over. The manager came with another prime rib and ask me to exchange it. No apologies what so ever from them. It was like they do this often for exchanging the food. Why would they even bring it to the table if they knew it was wrong.

My husband & I are new to Washington (from California SF Bay Area), and after living in Kent for the past 4 months, we've been a little disappointed in the food options. After searching on Open Table, I came across the reviews at Stanford's. I decided to make a reservation for the hubby and I. We were really very pleased! I had the blue cheese crusted Filet w/grilled veggies and parmesan garlic mashed potatoes, and my hubby had the Rib Eye (marinated 48 hours in pineapple and soy). Both dishes were AWESOME! Very tasty, tender, and you could taste the wood fire taste on both steaks which really was a great addition to the "normal" restaurant steak. We also enjoyed the baked brie appetizer - really tasty as well! :) We'll be back for sure!

I especially loved the real fries! My friend loved her Red Bean and Rice Soup. The dip sandwiches were good, but possibly a bit to much fat that had to be removed. I think we'd try it again. The service was a bit on the slow side considering it was early and not very busy. But the server was very pleasant. I had the half rack of ribs and they were excellent - would go back for those again. But my friend's meatloaf wrapped in bacon was just OK. Considering the price, she expected more. She asked for the peppers to be exchanged for a double helping of the second vegetable but what came was surely only a single helping. Booths are only separated by glass dividers between rows so we had to listen to the business being transacted at the table in the row next to us. As the restaurant was not busy when we arrived, we could likely have been seated further apart. But overall, my impression was good, expecially those ribs.

I haven't been to Stanford's for over a year. Had a business lunch meeting there and the food was great! I wish I could say the same for the server. On short notice, our book club, seven members, decided on Stanfords. When one member didn't come and I spotted a rounds table, set for five they host was so accommodating to add one more setting so we could enjoy our meal AND be able to talk to each other easily. We were in a very quiet section of the restaurant (a real treat these days) and it was perfect! The food was delicious, although a couple of gals weren't all that thrilled with what they ordered, the chicken fajitas. Overall, it was a great meal in the perfect setting for our group. No problem getting separate checks, either. For sure, we'll be back.

Stanford's serves first-rate salads, soups, sandwiches, steaks, and even fish tacos in a dark wood, relatively quiet place that is an oasis from all of the strip mall activity and traffic that surrounds it. This is a place you can have a meal and/or a drink and relax. The staff is friendly and helpful. The service wasn't incredibly efficient like at some places but it was nice to have an eating establishment where we felt free to chat as long as we wanted and weren't rushed to get another party at the table.

We have visited this restaurant on two separate occasions and both were a disappointment as far as the food is concerned. The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly, but the food was not worth the money. The first visit, my husband ordered the alder-planked salmon and it was heavily seasoned. Anyone living in the NW knows you do not need to over season salmon unless you are masking the freshness. Yesterday, we thought we would give the restaurant another try, but after ordering the French dip it was clear we will NOT be back. There was nearly more fat on the beef, as there was beef on the sandwich. IT was disguising! Unfortunately, by the time our waitress returned to our table, my husband was finished, so I left hungry.

We have been to Stanford's at Southcenter many times over the years. With the exception of one of two times, we have always found the food to be very good, but the service is always slow and lacking. If they would improve their service it would probably be one of our favorite restaurants. But as it stands now we would give the restaurant a mediocre rating overall, due to the slow, poor service.
