Since several of our favorite places in Tacoma have closed, we expanded our search to Southcenter and I remembered Stanford's when I saw it on a list on Open Table. I suggested we try it for dinner and we are so glad we did. Our server Devin was great - we'll ask for her the next time! And I was impressed that, when my filet mignon was brought out, I was asked to cut into it to make sure it had been cooked to my specifications - at all the places I have been in the past, no one has ever done that. The filet was amazing - I'll definitely order that again. The filet mignon was extremely tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. I will come again to try something new. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend or to anyone that needs to plan a special occasion. Two of us had steaks, tender and tasty, and the others had salmon and fish and chips. We shared a chocolate dessert that was very satisfying. The ambiance here is rather like a nice club--lots of wood, lots of comfortable booths. The food was very good and so was the survice. It offered an upscale experience, although I must say the wine list is a bit lacking.
