  • "We always enjoy Stanford's and frequently invite friends to meet us there because of the convenient location and pleasant ambiance. This time, there were problems. My grilled salmon salad arrived with a cold, dry piece of fish. We arrived at 11:30 a.m. and did not actually eat until almost 1 p.m. Since we had invited friends as our guests who hadn't visited before, it was disappointing. We will come back, hoping for the service and food that we had come to expect. Maybe it was just a bad day this time."

  • "Big Disappointment. First the waitress forgot to put in the order for the appetizer. So we cancelled the order but then it still came after like 10 mins. The prime rib I had was dried. I talked to the waitress and she was sending the manager over. The manager came with another prime rib and ask me to exchange it. No apologies what so ever from them. It was like they do this often for exchanging the food. Why would they even bring it to the table if they knew it was wrong."

  • "We went to dinner on a Friday around 7 pm for our anniversary and was disappointed to find out they were already sold out of prime rib. Service and food were good. Love the pomegranate mojotos. Wish the ribs came with a side of BBQ sauce."

  • "My husband & I are new to Washington (from California SF Bay Area), and after living in Kent for the past 4 months, we've been a little disappointed in the food options. After searching on Open Table, I came across the reviews at Stanford's. I decided to make a reservation for the hubby and I. We were really very pleased! I had the blue cheese crusted Filet w/grilled veggies and parmesan garlic mashed potatoes, and my hubby had the Rib Eye (marinated 48 hours in pineapple and soy). Both dishes were AWESOME! Very tasty, tender, and you could taste the wood fire taste on both steaks which really was a great addition to the "normal" restaurant steak. We also enjoyed the baked brie appetizer - really tasty as well! :) We'll be back for sure!"

  • "We love our Stanford's for lunch and after movie dinners at Southcenter. We received an email about Easter brunch, we decided to try them for our Easter gathering. As usual, everything was better than expected! The eggs Benedict were wonderful! We had a beautiful large table in the back so we had lots of room to spread out and visit. Thank you Stanford's for a lovely holiday event!"

  • "I especially loved the real fries! My friend loved her Red Bean and Rice Soup. The dip sandwiches were good, but possibly a bit to much fat that had to be removed. I think we'd try it again. I'm always looking for places that have fresh cut fries. Previously frozen really turn me off.! It was a nice lunch, the service was ok, the girl was very nice, but maybe a bit too busy."

  • "The service was a bit on the slow side considering it was early and not very busy. But the server was very pleasant. I had the half rack of ribs and they were excellent - would go back for those again. But my friend's meatloaf wrapped in bacon was just OK. Considering the price, she expected more. She asked for the peppers to be exchanged for a double helping of the second vegetable but what came was surely only a single helping. Booths are only separated by glass dividers between rows so we had to listen to the business being transacted at the table in the row next to us. As the restaurant was not busy when we arrived, we could likely have been seated further apart. But overall, my impression was good, expecially those ribs."

  • "I haven't been to Stanford's for over a year. Had a business lunch meeting there and the food was great! I wish I could say the same for the server. Her sour attitude was all my clients could talk about. I had to keep steering them back to business. Obviously, the restaurant can't control the server. Hopefully, I'll find a better server if I come back."

  • "On short notice, our book club, seven members, decided on Stanfords. When one member didn't come and I spotted a rounds table, set for five they host was so accommodating to add one more setting so we could enjoy our meal AND be able to talk to each other easily. We were in a very quiet section of the restaurant (a real treat these days) and it was perfect! The food was delicious, although a couple of gals weren't all that thrilled with what they ordered, the chicken fajitas. Overall, it was a great meal in the perfect setting for our group. No problem getting separate checks, either. For sure, we'll be back."

  • "Stanford's serves first-rate salads, soups, sandwiches, steaks, and even fish tacos in a dark wood, relatively quiet place that is an oasis from all of the strip mall activity and traffic that surrounds it. This is a place you can have a meal and/or a drink and relax. The staff is friendly and helpful. The service wasn't incredibly efficient like at some places but it was nice to have an eating establishment where we felt free to chat as long as we wanted and weren't rushed to get another party at the table."

  • "We have visited this restaurant on two separate occasions and both were a disappointment as far as the food is concerned. The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly, but the food was not worth the money. The first visit, my husband ordered the alder-planked salmon and it was heavily seasoned. Anyone living in the NW knows you do not need to over season salmon unless you are masking the freshness. Yesterday, we thought we would give the restaurant another try, but after ordering the French dip it was clear we will NOT be back. There was nearly more fat on the beef, as there was beef on the sandwich. IT was disguising! Unfortunately, by the time our waitress returned to our table, my husband was finished, so I left hungry."

With the exception of one of two times, we have always found the food to be very good, but the service is always slow and lacking. If they would improve their service it would probably be one of our favorite restaurants. But as it stands now we would give the restaurant a mediocre rating overall, due to the slow, poor service."

  • "My boyfriend and I ate dinner for Valentine's Day. The appetizers we ordered were the crab cakes and the chicken strips which were simply delicious. Then came the entrees: both ordered steaks except mine had crab on top of it. They were well done and were cooked amazing. I loved the taste combined with the crab; I honestly never thought of the combination which was very unique and fresh."

  • "Won't return. waited 35 minutes for an appetizer, entree took nearly an hour. server did not ask if we wanted refills on alcoholic beverages. requested more bread w/appetizer, it took almost 20 mins, when it came, the remaining Brie was cold. The drinks were good as was most of the food, but lots of mistakes. ordered steak & lobster, the server came back 10 minutes later, let us know they were out. He left a menu, then returned to take the new order. server took the order, and returned a few mins later to retake my order, he had forgotten it. When the food came, sides were wrong, salmon was overcooked. We wanted dessert, but didn't want to wait, so we passed. disappointing experience on a night that we wanted a great dining experience."

  • "I chose Stanford because of the quality of their food and it setting. I made reservation early during the week and dropped flowers off for the occasion. Eventhough I was late due to traffic, my table was waiting and the flowers made for a beautiful entry. The place was very busy and full of energy. Our food was excellent and service was great. I was a little shocked that the meal came up to $85.00, but it was worth it because the Misses had a good time."

  • "My boyfriend and I went to Stanford's for Valentine's Day and were really pleased with our experience. Albeit, it did take a long time for them to even get to our table and then for our various orders to come out, and the waitress was a little wonky, but we attribute all of that to it being Valentin'es Day and it being a packed house. Our dinner was one of the best we've ever had, and the ambiance was wonderful."

  • "I had made reservations for Valentine's Day for my husband and I. We have eaten here many times before. I love the cedar plank salmon and get it every time we come here. This time it was too salty. The asparagus was great, the wine was great and the husband's steak and shrimp was wonderful. All in all we enjoyed it. Just the salmon was a little too salty. We will be back for our anniversary or our other choice is a little place in Edmonds."

  • "I had high hopes for a romantic Valentines dinner. We made Valentines reservations that worked out well, until the food came. My girlfriends meal was all bad. Her prime rib and salmon was not right. The piece of salmon was the size of a chicken strip and came with no lemon or anything and was dry. The prime rib was ordered medium but came out well and dry. We sent it back, and waited for 20 more minutes for the manager to come back and say they were out of prime rib. They offered something else, however I was done eating. At that point the server who did a good job never again made eye contact and seemingly avoided us. Sadly disappointed because I was interested in going there more frequently, however my girlfriend will not go back."

  • "This was for Valentine's Day, so we opted for the steak and lobster. The lobster was cut in half lengthwise. It didn't have much flavor, and was pretty small. The steak was in slices like London Broil, but pretty good. The meal came with green beans and mashed potatoes. I think they were supposed to be garlic mashed potatoes, but if so, they didn't have much garlic. Salad is not included. The only option is to order a salad entrée and split it. The salad was okay, but it wasn't as tasty as it appeared. Service in general was pretty good, but when my husband asked for more coffee, the server took his cup away and brought him back a new cup of coffee without asking me if I would like more coffee, too. Don't know if we will visit again."
