  • "In this day and age, there need to be gluten free items on a menu. There was essentially one dish I could eat, because the sauces have flour. And while the fish taco could be on a corn tortilla, the fish itself is fried."

  • "Skimpy portions with regard to the center of plate items, but plenty of starch to fill the plate. For example... chicken dish was a large mound of mashed potatoes topped with a skimpy, single piece of half (maybe less) chicken breast. Steak Cobb had plenty of salad, but very little steak. What there was tasted good, but would recommend cutting back on the starch and providing a more reasonable portion of the protein."

  • "Service was horible: we were seated upon arrival and no one came to our table for 15 min. Then we were brought our appetizer and our server hadnt brought us silverware nore napkins. When he noticed that we had no silverware (after we were done with the appetizer) he brought us two sets. My gf unrolls her napkin and her silverwares obviously dirty with dried lettuce on her fork and spoon, i didn't think it was that big of a deal mistakes happen but when i checked my set of silverware mine was dirty as well. Once we told our waiter he grabs up both in a upset manor "im sorry dude sorry that i like clean silverware". Ive been here 8+ times since this place has open its been over a year but wow Stanford's has gone downhill."

  • " I took my wife to Stanford's for our 6th wedding anniversary, booking online and asking if we could have a bottle of Champagne waiting on our table as it was our anniversary. We arrived and the hostess wishes us a happy anniversary as she showed us to our table, Champagne chilled and waiting! The manager came over and presented my wife with a beautiful bunch of red Roses and really went out of his way to make us feel special. He revisited us several times during our meal and made us feel so special. The meal was superb (as always at Stanford's) and was even discounted on account of our special occasion. All in all another great evening made even better by their extra attention and amazing service!"

  • "After realizing that we were seated five feet from the Happy Hour side of the restaurant, the wait person was more than accommodating to shift us the short distance for less than half-price goodies. On the bar menu there was a sort of Portobello mushroom salad, that was simply awful. After our meal, the manager came over and sincerely apologized and removed the charge from our bill. No arguing, dickering, etc. On the upside - I had the BEST cucumber martini ever. That one would be hard to duplicate on my own! The long time tradition is if we're going to see a movie at Northgate, Stanfords is the place to go for dinner prior."

  • "The manager here rocks! We normally shy away from chain restaurants but have enjoyed coming here a half dozen times in just the past few months. "Big Red", as he's known, has the kitchen running smoothly while ensuring every guest feels welcome and important. Meals come quickly and prepared to perfection... we haven't had a meal yet that we didn't love. The staff is also incredibly friendly and accommodating. You ask for it, you got it and with a smile. Between the great food food, the fab service and a manager that our three year old has proclaimed her "bestest friend", Stanford's is quickly becoming part of the regular rotation for our family. Tip: Costco sells $100 gift card for $80 and there is half priced wine on Wednesdays - enjoy!"

  • "I came here for a family dinner after UW's graduation this weekend. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the food was great! There is a wide variety of options, and everything is very reasonably priced, particularly the specials. Their drink list is good as well - they have a lot of cocktails and a decent selection of wines. In addition, both the graduates at the table got their meals taken care of, which was awesome! Overall, a great experience and would definitely go again."

  • "The lunch that our boys had was very good. My wife and I had the eggs benedict and honestly they were just ok. It was a little light on the holendais sauce and the potatos were cold. We had to ask for extra sauce. The coffee was great and the service was good."

  • "My friends and I meet there for a birthday dinner and we had a very nice time. We tend to take awhile getting caught up and our waiter was very wonderful making sure we had everything we needed for the long amount of time we where there. I wish I had his name but I did not pay for the dinner and do not have a copy of the bill. He made sure we had a dessert we wanted and was very knowledgeable about everything we asked for. Recommending what he thought we would like with what we told him we liked. We will come again and enjoy your resturant."

  • "We go here for special occasions. What stood out this time was that the pepper bacon on the kids' menu was way too peppery for kids to eat. Tho the waitress failed to alert us, when the manager came around to ask us how things were, he offered to fix it by giving my son sausages instead (when he could have just said he was "sorry" but not done anything to fix it). And then when my son -- who wasn't able to say he didn't want sausages fast enough -- didn't eat the sausages, the manager just replaced them with two ice cream sundaes, no cost, no questions asked, and a smile! Now that is what I call a businessman who wants repeat customers. It's really not that hard, but in practice it's really hard to find. We will be back for sure."

  • "My friend and I came for dinner prior to a concert we were going to. I had reservations for 5 P.M. and arrived earlier. It was no problem. We were seated immediately. The host was great and had the name wrong, but made sure to comeback and call me by name a couple of times after seated. My friend had one of the fish and chips meals, and I had a steak. My steak was a little more done than I would have liked, but after cutting a little further into the steak, it was perfect. Our server was very friendly and had several suggestions."

  • "I've been to this restaurant many times and things have been fine, but the food on the night we went was really bad. Our waiter was great, and told us that our order had gone in after a party of 20. Uh oh. I had fish tacos, and couldn't cut the fish - it was rubbery. My mashed potatoes were lukewarm and dry. My daughter had salmon, which was way overcooked, and was replaced by the kitchen with another plate that was a world away from the first. Her potatoes were steaming, and her fish was perfect. Appetizers were just so-so. I was really disappointed - if we're going to spend $200 for a party of 5, (and that was after they took the salmon cost off...) I want to leave feeling like I had a great meal. Not sure I'll go back."

  • "We've chosen Stanford;s for three special occasions now - Thanksgiving, my birthday, and Valentine's Day. We'd been there before and liked it, but it's become a favorite. Their plank salmon is to die for and the accompanying veggies were just fantastic. It was just the right amount of food and the servers were polite and efficient. It's easy to get to too with it being right off I-5 and Northgate way."

  • "Food was amazing! However, my guest was quite turned off by being asked to cut and check his meat with a plate of fat between him and any meant. Oh yeah, and you might need some silverware to do what you are being asked--that falls a bit flat where there is none on the table. As a matter of presentation, place the MEAT facing the customer ... and ALWAYS make certain the table has silverware before serving food! With the visible staffing level and the sheer cost of dinner and the severely overpriced wine this should have have been an issue. We should have felt like royalty. No matter how you slice it (or whether you have the utensils to do so) the FOOD was fabulous!"

  • "The restaurant is clean and well presented. The staff is polite, but not really focused on the dining experience. The food varied between slightly overcooked to slightly undercooked. All food was prepared within an acceptable doneness range, but nothing was prepared spot on. There was some attention to detail in the presentation of the appetizer. The presentation of the main course was a little sloppy and there were smeared towel marks on the rim of the plate. The food was good, but maybe I was expecting that there was a little more care in the preparation and presentation of the food if dinner for two costs about $100."

  • "Our appetizer appeared quite late, but was well recieved when it did arrive. Very fresh chicken tenders with dipping sauce. My husband was impressed with a wine he had heard of on a French gourmand show. Very good. As it can be quite difficult to please teenagers - we were pleased with possitive remarks from said teens. The only remark that made me feel a bit old I must admit was as we sat down my daughter wispered , "there are a lot of old people here". I really did'nt think so. My fish tacos were delicious and sandwiches and burgers were delicious so say respective diners. Thank you- we will be sure to return to enjoy another meal or two using our discount cards we recieved after our meal.th"

  • "We celebrated New Years w/ a salmon feast. Everything was good and the service, as usual, was quite good. In addition, Stanfords has a "frequent flyer" program so you can accumulate points towards a future "cash off"."
