They don't just dump your food on the table and never come back, the server checks to be sure all is good w/o be intrusive and you don't feel like they're trying to sell sell sell. Very laid back..."

  • "Sadly our waitress (Alex) was more interested in the Indiana Braves hat wearing bartender. If not at the bar chatting him up (and us having to 'excuse me'...to another waitress for help), she was back-to-customers in the far hidden corner of bar, no joke for over 15 minutes! Gave our tip to the gal that actually helped us. Side note, the happy hour appetizers have almost doubled in price."

  • "As soon as I was notified that Stanford's had Copper River Salmon, I made a reservation through Open Table. When I called and learned that the supply was very limited, I move up the reservation by a day. I called the day of the reservation and learned that they only had 13 servings left. They agreed to hold two for my wife and me. When we arrived (after a 40+ mile trip), they only had 10 servings left. Our hostess had informed our waitress of our trip and she advised that we order quickly to ensure that we got our servings. The salmon was as good as we remembered, which was QUITE GOOD, and the personal attention was very flattering."

  • "We just celebrated an Easter brunch in Lake Oswego. I knew the food would be very good, and it certainly was. What I would like to praise is the excellent service we received in spite of the booked solid status of Stanford's that day. Our server, a gracious young man, was equally attentive to each member of our party: a five-year-old child, a senior citizen, and the mother of the child. I have dined here a few times over the years, and each time the service was superb!"

  • "My other experience with this Stanford's would have earned more stars, that's why we were eager to have brunch there. There were some large family groups there for brunch that impacted our service significantly. We had to wait a long time for everything. I even had to snag an employee other then our server to get the check and a take home box. The staff was obviously stretched too thin. One tries to be understanding about these things, but jeez, it's not like it was a surprise to the management that bigs groups as well as parties of 2 would be fulfilling their reservations. The food was good. The fresh fruit starter plate was ok. My boyfriend had a bacon cheeseburger that was very good. My smoked salmon benedict was yummy."

  • "Everything (except salad) had way too much butter or oil. Son had cheese burger - too much butter or oil on the bun. Bread that accompanied dinner - too much oil or butter in addition to the cheese - could not eat it. I had rice and vegetables with my prime rim - way too much butter or oil on rice and vegetables - left puddle on plate. Wife had a chicken & bean salad - they ran out of the dressing that was to be on it and had to have a bbq dressing, only a couple of beans, almost all lettuce (very little of expected tomato, etc.) although the chicken was ok. Stanfords use to be a one of our restaurants for special occasions - not anymore. Had a better meal at Applebees that is just across the street. Stanfords is not special anymore."

  • "We had a business luncheon meeting and had 10+ people. The tables were all set up ahead of time and we had plenty of elbow room for papers and materials. The food was really good, the staff was attentive to ensure we had plenty of refills and great at some special diet requests. Everyone was friendly, positive and accommodating. The vibe of a restaurant can help win or sink a deal. The setting was perfect for our meeting and it was a great success."

It was a very lean sandwich, and would have been a great dipping sandwich that way. Their horse radish sauce, though, is really a step above most horse radish sauce and made this an exceptional lunch."

  • "My roommate ordered Salmon Oscar and I had tenderloin tips. Our waiter was in a hurry. He took the entree order and left before I could say I wanted a salad, so I had to flag him down to order one. It arrived only moments before the entree. The salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. The tips were medium well, while I had ordered medium rare, but they were still tasty and tender. The salad was too huge to eat, so I took it home. The real problem this evening was the service. In addition to the above, we sat for probably a half hour with dirty plates. Tonight was just disappointing, but I have experienced better service before so I will be back. The waiter also didn't give us the promotional card all RU locations are giving thru 3/31."

I had a soup I hadn't had before, the southwest bean soup, and next time I would probably make a lunch of that instead of just a cup of soup. It was wonderful. It was hot, and had enough seasoning to put it beyond just bean soup. I also had the salmon salad which I love always, so it was a fantastic mid afternoon lunch."

  • "I had the pepper steak and my friend had a flat bread pizza. The steak was fantastic. For added cost you may have asparagus instead of the veggie of the day. The asparagus was grilled and very flavorful. Lots of small spring spears included. My friend's pizza was outstanding. We both took food home, half the steak and half the pizza."
