It was cooked beautifully, medium rare and was accompanied with perfectly roasted asperagus. The garlic potatoes were a bit dry but well flavored. The mushroom demi glace was generous and well seasoned. Tampura battered shrimp accompanied the order and were hot and crunchy, a very nice addition. The bread pudding was very good, fluffy with plump raisons and a generous addition of sauce. Too, the creme brulee was very good with a creamy base and beautifully caramelized top.
The wines on the list were disappointing, lower end "grocery store brands, yet the prices reflected a higher quality offering.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Stanford is hereWe are Stanford fans from the years we ate at the Tukwila, WA, location before moving out to Indiana in '03. Out there, we were at Stanford's nearly every week for dinner. We were not disappointed when we ate at the Carmel, IN, location for Mother's Day. We both had Eggs Benedict; his regular, mine with smoked salmon and avocado (minus the capers). The food was as good as we remembered it being & the wait staff was as friendly, too. I like the fact that I had several choices of tea types/flavors to choose from when I ordered hot tea, instead of getting whatever was brought to the table. The"new menu" is not to our taste. If it wasn't for our regular server we wouldn't even consider returning. The appetizer menu is terrible. The manager stopped to talk to a couple seated next to us for over thirty minutes but breezed right by us without a word. We have been going to Kincaid's for a long time and a lot of the reason is the amazing customer service from Laura Y. Laura had us hooked from day one as we felt at home and comfortable. Owning an extremely busy salon in Indianapolis, it's really nice to get away and visit a restaurant and be taken care in the way Laura always has! I feel like I am going on about her, but if you were to be taken care of by her, you would understand my need to express my gratitude for her amazing hospitality. Laura's passion for creating the perfect night out has been evident upon each visit. Apparently they're getting ready to shut down and remodel the bar so we got a couple sub-par drinks and the selection of alcohols was dwindling literally as we dined. We were actually all starting to think the experience was going to go badly until the food started showing up. Clam chowder was excellent, prime rib on the Northside Nights special was amazing and a generous portion for a "special", everyone in our party left very impressed with everything other than the slight hiccups in the drinks.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first visit.This was my first visit. I was surprised to hear that this was the last night that this restaurant was open as Kincaids. I probably would have waited to visit until new restaurant opened. Food was excellent, particularly appetizer platter that we ordered off the menu and the desserts from the Northside Nights menu.
