A word from Standard Tap
When Standard Tap opened its doors in December 1999, our goal was simple: to create a neighborhood tavern that featured great beer and wholesome food. With that in mind, we offer a draft-only beer selection that highlights the vast array of styles crafted by breweries located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Our food menu both complements the beer and expands the notion of what pub food can be. We use only the best available produce, poultry, meats and seafood. Reservations are for our 2nd floor dining room only. Both bars and the first floor seating area are all unreserved seating. Our full menu is available throughout the restaurant.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "I like Standard Tap, and I want to like it more, but the idea of only having a few chalkboards around the restaurant where the food and drinks are listed makes it difficult. I don't like standing over another couple's table so I can read the menu, and I don't like having to get up to read the beer list to see what I want next. Having said that, the food there is always great. I had the Mako sandwich, and it was delicious. I'd never eaten shark before, and I'm glad I gave it a try."

  • "A group of six old friends, in town for an academic convention, were given an alcove/booth in the second floor dining area. The food was excellent and promptly served and the beer and wine selection was impressive. We were able to schmooze for two hours and enjoyed ourselves tremendously."

  • "Party of 3 sat on outdoor deck on 2nd floor. Cool spring day but the radiant heat made it perfect. Wine and beer list great, food was excellent and service attentive. Will be back."

  • "Philly-born and -bred, but I have to move away for a bit. Where do I have my last brunch with my peeps? Standard Tap. I favorite place in Philly - and that is saying a lot as we have an incredible scene. Love you guys. Keep up the magic. I'll be back!"

  • "the food was amazing. the only issue was that they did not have a menu except for one posted on the board. the writing was about an inch big and unless you were at the table right in front of it you were not able to see it. It was a little dark which was fine but when trying to read a chalkboard it made it a little difficult. our server was knowledgable just i felt because we were a table of two we were not taken care of as well if we were a larger party"

  • "Little seedy looking when you first walk in, however it was surprisingly good. The staff was excellent and the food was really good."

  • "Great local microbrew selection of beers. Food was okay at best, but service was great. Love the atmosphere in the restaurant. It was a very vibrant bar scene. Overall good, but not great. About a 6.5 to perhaps a 7 on Scale of 1 to 10."

  • "We attend brunch for the wood and smokey beer event. The food was very good and well matched with the styles of beer. Portions were medium to large so you really filled up. Specialty beers were offered in flights so you could try many without getting into too much trouble. It was crowded but not packed; it was worth making a reservation to ensure a seat. Highly recommend!"

  • "We each had burgers which were quite good.. but a bit pricey for what they were.. We shared a ruby red fried shrimp appetizer which the shrimp were tasty but tiny.. The dessert was a gem... fried apple pie with vanilla ice cream... that was the best thing we had.. The special craft beers I ordered were quite good and the martinis my girlfriend had were made nicely.. Liquor prices here are a bit high... Overall this is a fun place to go with a lot of energy on a weekend.... The food and drink is good too.. but if I had one criticism... its a lot of money to spend for what you get.. The value could be a little better.."

  • "My favorite place in the neighborhood. Good food, beer and service. Mussels were a terrific cold night dinner for an evening out with my daughter. We also enjoyed the liver pate."

  • "Went for lunch with friends, and was not disappointed! I had a great Smoked Turkey and sopressata sandwich, on focaccia bread. Very tasty! others had the cheeseburger, and Avocado BLT, and had good comments on their taste as well. Definitely worth it. since is was a Sunday Lunch, we did not try the beer list, but it looked like it had plenty of winners."

  • "Standard Tap is very consistent - menu diverse, great drinks and super atmosphere. Love it when they have seafood in such as for V-day they had a shellfish platter that was amazing. Had the Duck Mousse which was decadent and to die for !"

  • "I was there to be by myself and was hungry and the side conversations were a bit too overpowering, it made me feel very sad, the food was beautiful I wish the service could have directed me better, otherwise very nice."

  • "This was my first time at Standard Tap and I really enjoyed the experience. Our server was outstanding... knows her beers! I told her what I like and she gave me 4 great beers (did a flight for $10). I liked the option of trying small quantities of several different beers, something I typically do with wine at other places. In any case my salad (apple, pecans and goat cheese) was really yummy and large enough to share. My burger was one of the best that I've had anywhere. This place makes me wish I lived in their neighborhood."

  • "I brought my wife here for her birthday. Parking close can be hit or miss. There is a bar and dining area as soon as you walk in the door which was quite noisy and was obviously very busy. The downstairs dining area was very open with easy access to the downstairs bar. We decided to go upstairs where it would be a bit quieter. There was another bar at the top of the stairs with a more intimate and cozy dining area. Menu's were written on chalkboards with a general description. If you want to know specifics you will have to ask the server but there appeared to be a large selection of different proteins and vegetarian options. There was a great beer selection and the food came in a timely fashion, it was hot and was very tasty."

  • "Brought a friend who was visiting us here because we knew the relaxed vibe was perfect for him. We had a nice relaxed meal, no rush from the service staff. Enjoyed great beer and hot toddy. Food was rustic and served hot. Only drawback was a large party who was quite raucous. However, I did notice they were approached by staff who managed to get the noise level down somewhat."

  • "Incredible spot. Great beer selection and amazing food. The food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and each table is attended to by friendly, professional servers. The only bad thing about Standard Tap is the lack of convenient parking nearby. We parked in a two hour only spot and got a $26 dollar ticket. I guess we could have moved the car, but we were having too much fun. Go to Standard Tap. You won't be disappointed"
