  • "Creative take on traditional Texas fare, including barbecue, fried chicken, TexMex, seafood and country comfort. Each dish was a bit different than the traditional recipe in a delightful way. The decor was over the top Texana, including the screens of cattle country scenery."

  • "I was really impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. They did a superb job of representing West Texas in the spirit of the space with photos and memorabilia. The food is amazing. Granted we tried just two items but the honey fried chicken and meatloaf were both great. Only let down was the chili Margarita. For the price, was not worth it."

  • "Food seemed as if it had been prepared several hours before serving. While the order came out very very quickly, it seemed it was because the food was rather old."

  • "Try the table side Margaritta ... Great show and even better flavor!"

  • "Fun. Food. Fellowship. We went for a friend's birthday and had a great time --- though there was no comp dessert for the birthday boy."

  • "Stephan Pyle has done a great job coming up with this new concept. The ambience and decor was very warm and unique. I went here for a lunch meeting and everyone in my party was very pleased. Lastly, of course the food was great and well thought out."

  • "Our experience at Stampede 66 was incredible. Relaxing chairs to have a drink before dinner. Our waiter truly made the experience worthwhile. He was very knowledgeable in all aspects of the menu and clearly educated on wines selection. Base on the food we selected, which he was outstanding in offering suggestions, he recommended a wine that work perfectly. He checked on us at the appropriate times and made the experience special. If you're remotely familiar with Stephen Pyles food, then you're in for a classic Stephen Pyles experience.....exceptional!!"

  • "I had a business lunch with a party of 6. Everyone enjoyed their food and gave compliments on the decor and ambience of the location. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and the food arrived in a timely manner. My meal was hot and seasoned well for the dish. I made some adjustments and the meal was delivered just as I had requested. This is an upscale Texas experience."

  • "We got the Sunday Supper, which is a 3-course family style meal (for 2 or more people). The food was delicious especially the green chile meatloaf and the mexican chocolate cake. There was a live band which really added to the evening. Service was excellent."

  • "My wife had the tortilla soup which was the poorest soup she has ever had. Nothing in it and still $8. Chicken sandwich was equally bad."

  • "This was our second trip to Stampede 66. Food was fabulous both times, and the prices are very fair. Service this time was definitely lacking and cost them some money in beverage sales. Would still highly recommend the restaurant though. Just would have been nice to have seen our waiter more often."

  • "My 5th time dining here. It's my new go-to places for when I want to splurge a bit. The drinks are wonderful - and I am not a drinker. The passion-chili margarita is the best. The menu is fairly small, yet every choice is a good one. Service is juts they way I like it and should be = attentive, informed, yet not a "part" of my meal. Last 2 visits - Stephen Pyles came to our table which was a nice touch. Can't say enough great things about Stampede 66 - it truly is representative of Texas and great food. Jon Battle, Plano TX"

  • "Arrived for a late lunch and the restaurant was nearly empty. BUt a wonderful meal all the same. The hangar steak had just a wonderful flavor."

  • "Great food. Fun take on Texas theme. Decor a little over the top, but otherwise fun. Loved everything we ordered. Honey fried chicken was moist and flavorful - perfect crunch to coating, and was served HOT. Biscuits and pickles that came with were also delicious. Freeto Pie also tasty with fun presentation. Fully enjoyed experience."

  • "We were very disappointed with our experience at Stampede 66 ... and we were celebrating 2 birthdays at our table of 5. We had heard such wonderful things about the restaurant from several friends but were totally underwhelmed. Although the food was good, we waited a very long time for it to arrive. Also the service was very slow. Maybe the kitchen was having problems? The waiter was polite but seemed disinterested in getting our drinks and food out on timely basis and was not even apologetic. The restaurant was not even that busy as it was a weeknight so we're puzzled."

  • "Had the Fixed Prix Sunday dinner. Over all great deal. Catfish too much batter, some of the food should have been warmer. Best mashed potato , pot roast out of this world. We both loved it. Over the top service. When calling for explantion of the Sunday Dinner it took several attempts to get person to answer. And once Open table reservation was made I appreciate the call to remind me but I feel it was not up to me to call back and confirm. I know theres no shows but thats why I make a reservation. I sould not have to make such a effort. Loved it overall . Will go again."

  • "Sunday night 3/30 was suppose to be special occasion, my birthday. So loud wife and I had to sit next to one another in order to converse. Food was OK, but I expected better. Seafood special tasted fishy. The shrimp and grits portion size was suitable for a child but not an adult. Cesar salad was the best part of the meal. I thought the price was outrageous for what we had for dinner."

  • "Our family was celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday and we really wanted the night to be special for her. I could not have asked for a more perfect evening. I had made an online reservation. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere was vibrant--cool cowboy art. The margaritas were a fun show--mixed right at the table, with candied jalepenos as garnish. It was this attention to detail throughout the evening that made it so great. We had several appetizers, big plates, and desserts. The deviled eggs, the tamales, the pot roast, incredible butterscotch pudding--each a culinary masterpiece. I Hope to be over there myself again soon. Want to try the risotto and the apple turnovers!"

  • "What a nice start for an awesome evening, from FOH to our DE.. Mr. Horne greeted us & escorted our party to the table. Once there, the server took control & continued with awesomeness.... Stephen Pyles, you have done it once again... Thank you."

  • "I called to change my reservation to an earlier time and asked if they could accommodate us. The answer was "No" that it would be closer to 8:15. We decided to go any way and see what would happen. We arrived at 6:45 and was told that it would be closer to 8:15 as they are waiting for the reservations to show up. As we ventured to the bar, we noticed several tables open and a dozen bar seats available. We went to the bar only to encounter a bar tender that thought he was to good for the place, had an attitude, made a drink and commented about how well he made it, "that is bad a**" I went to the hostess stand to inquire about a table, they said no. We ate at the bar and as we were leaving, the same two tables were still open."

  • "Went here for lunch. Not good at all. Very disappointing. I had a salad that reminded me of a salad that i get at Corner Bakery. Ordered a bloody mary because the waiter said how great their "house mix" was- again not good. The place is cool and very Texas which I liked but in the end I went for the food. I will not go back."

  • "We made reservations requesting a high chair and found when we arrived that they only have 2. So, we ending up holding our 15 month old for almost the entire meal until one of the high chairs finally became available during our desert course. That wasn't easy. Then, we found out that they actually don't have kid's pricing ($20) for the Sunday Super. We called ahead to ask and were told they did, but were apparently given wrong information. So, we paid $35 for our 7 and 9 year old. Also, just fyi they don't have changing tables in the bathrooms. All that being said, the band was very good (although a little hard to hear in the back room where we were seated) the decor is top notch and the food and drinks were wonderful. Hard to enjoy though."

  • "We had a large party this past Friday night. We loved the brisket, the fried chicken, and the tacos. The beer bread, buttermilk biscuits, and cornbread are also excellent. The ranchero beans served in the skillet with cornbread were outstanding also. We loved the apple turnovers for dessert."

  • "Maybe we ordered wrong but isn't everything supposed to be good? Tacos were cold tamales cold condiments looked interesting but were so small. Our group of 4 were very I satisfied Food delivered not at same time. Salad was just average. Not many veggies in it. My wine good but the person ordering beer could not even get a Coors light. Eve the drinks came out one st a time. The club soda had no lime in it and we had to get it ourselves because no one waited on us. We had heard great things about the place and we were very let down. The decor and ambiance was fantastic however."

  • "Our first visit to Stampede 66 was excellent. We ordered a la carte rather than the Sunday special. We tried a red snapper special, several tacos and hors d'oeuvres, and salads - all excellent. There was live music that evening - fun. Our waitress was outgoing and efficient. We'll go back."

  • "Nice room with a Texas Kitsch theme. Foods's OK. Try the fried chicken, brisket or tacos. Signature margarita is a show stopper. A fun place to take out of town visitors who think Texas is all about cowboy boots and belt buckles."

  • "Our group enjoyed the Sunday Supper and it was superb. The cocktails were just as good as the food. We also enjoyed the Shiner Bread - came out in a Shiner Bock Can - presentation and taste was great. The live music was fun too - my only complaint would be the repetitive happy birthday singing. One of the best meals I've eaten in Dallas - highly recommend for Texans and for all their out of town guests to enjoy! I will be back again and again."

  • "We had a great experience at Stampede66. The Texas-themed restaurant was enjoyable to out-of-town clients looking for a Texas experience. The food was delicious--we sampled multiple items on the menu family style as suggested by our waiter. And they had great vegetarian accommodations (just ask the server, what they made for me was off-menu.) Our guests were still talking about the meal the next morning. Great job!"

  • "We were greeted very nicely and even accomodated our seating preference. I think that the tone of the night was set by our main server. He was polite, went through the motions of taking our orders and brought us the check at the end. Throughout the night he seemed in a hurry to have us order, eat and leave.. Was not friendly at all. The snapper with the white beans would have been better if the grill marks were not on the fish giving it a different taste. My pork confit with the cream cabagge was absolutely delicious! The pork special of the day was a bit on the raw side. Husband spend the night in the bathroom... Desserts were awesome and we greatly appreciate the plate with the "Happy birthday" on it."
